Survival of the Nation: I Can Specify the Items That Will Drop
Chapter 371: Entrance to the Fifth Floor
Early the next morning, outside the north gate of Huian County, the sky had not yet fully brightened.
Five figures stood in formation outside the city gate.
Lin Feng stood at the very front, the Wildfire Spear strapped to his back, and his zhutian war boots shimmering with an understated golden luster in the morning light.
He turned his head and swept his gaze over the faces of the four.
Jiang Zhaoyue was clad in silver-blue battle armor, a silver-white spear strapped to her back, her ponytail tied high, her expression cold, yet there was a hint of anticipation in her eyes.
She was looking down, checking the leather belt at her waist, and upon feeling Lin Feng's gaze, she looked up and nodded slightly.
Jiang Yelan stood at the very edge, clad in black leather armor, the shadow moon blade hanging at her waist.
She didn't look at anyone, her gaze fixed on the distant skyline, like an eagle about to spread its wings.
Feng Qingyan carried her staff over her shoulder, the halo of her shield shimmering slightly around her, lending a dreamlike quality to her exquisite face.
She was clearly overexcited today, her eyes shining like two stars, the corners of her mouth curling up, unable to be suppressed, even the stray hair on her forehead dancing in the morning breeze.
Su Yurou held the bone healing staff, the white ribbon of her spiritual headband fluttering gently in the morning breeze.
She smiled slightly at Lin Feng, saying nothing, but there was a comforting softness in her eyes.
Lin Feng withdrew his gaze, turned to face the northeast, and said only one word: "Let's go."
The five of them stepped forward simultaneously, darting toward the northeast.
Lin Feng took the lead, the golden light of his zhutian war boots drawing a long, slender trail across the grass.
Jiang Zhaoyue followed on his right, Jiang Yelan on his left, Su Yurou followed in the middle, and Feng Qingyan ran at the very back, the flame on her staff stretching into an orange-red line in the wind.
The scenery of the Qingluo Plain retreated rapidly by ➤ NоvеⅠight ➤ (Read more on our source) their sides; newborn Qingluo vines wrapped around the shrubs, the pale green vines swaying gently in the morning breeze.
Occasionally, a few low-level nightmare creatures would dart out from the grass, but upon seeing this group, they would run away from afar.
Eight hours later, the sun had crawled from the east to the west, and it was nearly four in the afternoon.
On the flat ground ahead, a dark, gaping hole appeared.
The entrance was not large, about two zhang square, its edges jagged and uneven, as if it had been forcibly torn out from underground by something.
At the edge of the entrance, a semi-transparent light screen slowly emerged in the air, with a line of text written on it—【Dungeon Entrance】.
The light screen rippled slightly like water, flashing with a pale blue light from time to time.
Feng Qingyan sat down lightly on a nearby stone and let out a long sigh, her voice tinged with the tragic sentiment of a survivor.
"Fi... finally here! I'm exhausted! Lord Lin, can we ride a Great-Horned Deer next time? These two legs of mine are no longer my own; I suspect they might just walk back on their own later."
Su Yurou sat down beside her, handed her a water canteen, and smiled: "Drink some water and rest for a while."
Feng Qingyan took the canteen, took a few small sips, wiped her mouth, and looked around, suddenly exclaiming "Eh?": "Why is this Dungeon so desolate? There isn't even anyone setting up a stall?"
She stood up and turned around, "At that Dungeon in Lucky Town, there's everything for sale at the entrance—barbecued meat skewers, potions, people collecting materials—it's as lively as a market fair. Why can't I even see a shadow of a person here? There's not even anyone selling herbal tea. Bad review."
Jiang Zhaoyue took the silver-white spear from her back, leaned it against the ground, and swept her gaze over the empty area around the entrance, her voice flat: "The Adventurers near this area of Annan Country have all been conscripted to defend Thang Long City; they have no time to come to the Dungeon. Adventurers from other countries dare not travel this far either. Even high-level Awakened who are level twenty-plus dare not come. If they happen to run into an Undead Army, they wouldn't even be able to escape."
Feng Qingyan nodded gently, her hair sliding over her shoulder: "That makes sense... Then it's better to be desolate; it's safer. It's just a pity that no one is here to appreciate my shield."
Su Yurou glanced at her, the corners of her mouth curving up, but she didn't reply.
Lin Feng walked to the edge of the entrance, looked down into the pitch-black darkness, then turned back and fixed his gaze on Jiang Zhaoyue: "Lord Jiang, please lead the way from here. Let's aim to rest at the entrance of the Fifth Floor by tonight and conquer the Fifth Floor tomorrow morning."
Jiang Zhaoyue nodded, took a folded piece of parchment from her bosom, and unfolded it; it was densely marked with routes, forks, and monster distributions.
This was the map she had drawn last time, with every floor clearly marked.
She walked to the front, the silver-white spear strapped to her back, her voice clear: "Follow me, and watch your step."
The five of them stepped into the light screen, a cool sensation brushing across their skin, as if passing through a thin film of water.
Before their eyes, it went black first, then the light gradually returned—not sunlight, but the eerie green fluorescence emitted by the moss on the cave walls.
The first floor was a natural limestone cave. The cave passages twisted and wound; in wide areas, five or six people could walk side by side, while in narrow spots, only one person could squeeze through sideways.
The cave walls were covered with glowing moss, greenish and bright, illuminating the entire floor of the cave like a gloomy aquarium.
On the ground, there were occasionally piles of broken bones, the remains of monsters that had been cleared out previously.
Feng Qingyan followed behind Jiang Zhaoyue, the Fire Crystal on her staff illuminating a short stretch of the path ahead, the halo of her shield shimmering slightly around her, making her profile flicker in and out of light.
She lowered her voice and asked: "Sister Jiang, what kind of monsters were on this first floor before?"
Jiang Zhaoyue didn't even turn her head: "Bat swarms, around level six. There were many of them, but they had low HP. We cleared our way through last time, so there shouldn't be that many left now."
Feng Qingyan frowned slightly and said softly: "Bats... that's a bit disgusting."
The second floor was an underground mausoleum. Stone coffins and tombstones appeared on both sides of the cave walls, and a faint smell of rot permeated the air.
Feng Qingyan gripped her staff tightly and looked around, but her footsteps remained light; she was not flustered.
Su Yurou walked beside her and said softly: "Don't be afraid, they have all been cleared."
Feng Qingyan pursed her lips: "I'm not afraid, I just... don't really like these kinds of gloomy places."
The third floor was a massive underground lake. The lake surface was as calm as a mirror, reflecting the dense, glowing minerals on the dome, looking like an inverted starry sky.
Monsters wandered along the lake shore: swamp trolls, water ghouls, and a few giant lake crabs, ranging from level fifteen to eighteen.
Jiang Zhaoyue made her move; the Silver Moon Spear Radiance pinned a water ghoul that had poked its head out of the lake to death, and the Silver Light Cross Slash pierced through two trolls that had rushed onto the shore.
Jiang Yelan also emerged from the shadows, the shadow moon blade taking out one after another, resolving the few water ghouls lurking on the lake shore.
The environment on the Fourth Floor was much better, resembling the ruins of some ancient palace, with the ground paved with broken stone slabs and fractured stone pillars standing on both sides.
The dome was very high, and the fluorescence of the moss on the cave walls was brighter, illuminating the entire floor like twilight.
Deep within the hall, there was a set of stone stairs leading downward, and at the end of the stairs was a light screen—the entrance to the Fifth Floor.
