Yuan Lang, however, shook his head and turned to the leader of the Black Wolf Tribe contingent. "When males appear, the first wave of Shun Yuan will be large. If your group is too small, you could easily be captured. We need the Beastman Warriors from the Black Wolf Tribe to go out."

The Black Wolf leader didn’t hesitate. With their extensive hunting experience, they were confident they could lure away the Shun Yuan without getting caught, as long as they were prepared.

Yuan Lang nodded. "After the Beastman Warriors of the Black Wolf Tribe have led the majority of the Shun Yuan away, the few that remain on guard will be for the Lion Tribe’s Beastman Warriors.

Once you’re gone, you can leave the rest to us."

With that said, he looked at the two leaders with a solemn expression. "You must remember this: don’t try to take this opportunity to hunt for Crystal Cores. Your only job is to do everything you can to delay the Shun Yuan. Do not let them return to the canyon.

Once we’ve rescued the Beastman Warriors, we’ll let out a roar as a signal. When you hear it, shake them off as quickly as possible and get out. We’ll regroup on the perimeter."

The two beastmen gazed at Yuan Lang, their eyes sparkling with admiration. The look reminded Yuan Lang of the fawning gazes from the noble ladies of his past life, and a shiver of revulsion went down his spine.

His expression immediately darkened. "Get a move on."

With that, he turned and went back to his own tribesmen. ’It’s safer to stick with normal beastmen,’ he thought.

After internally marveling at the Snow Tiger Tribe beastman’s cool aloofness, the other two leaders wasted no time.

The leader of the Black Wolf Tribe immediately gathered his kinsmen, relayed Yuan Lang’s instructions, and then set his group in motion.

After a quick signal to Yuan Lang’s group, they dove into the tall grass and vanished.

Moments later, a series of loud wolf howls echoed from the forest on the far side of the canyon. The gorge, which had only just quieted down, instantly erupted with noise.

The Shun Yuan were especially sensitive to the roars of males. Upon hearing the calls of the Black Wolf Tribe’s Beastman Warriors, they came screeching and charging out of the canyon.

Seeing the sheer, dense numbers, the hides of the remaining beastmen tightened. They silently prayed for their comrades in the Black Wolf Tribe.

A considerable number of Shun Yuan still remained in the canyon, but it was a much more manageable amount than the swarm that had just charged out.

Yuan Lang gave the Lion Tribe’s Beastman Warriors a meaningful look.

The warrior understood instantly. He led the few Beastman Warriors behind him and ran toward the forest on the opposite side.

A few moments later, another series of lion roars drew away another group of agitated Shun Yuan.

The Shun Yuan seemed particularly stirred up today. Usually, any male beastman would give them a wide berth the moment they caught the Shun Yuan’s scent, but for some reason, a flood of them had arrived today.

Once this group of shrieking Shun Yuan had run off into the distance, Yuan Lang led the Snow Tiger Tribe’s Beastman Warriors and stealthily slipped into the canyon.

Just as he’d planned, with two waves lured away, fewer than ten Shun Yuan remained in the canyon.

Without waiting for Yuan Lang’s command, Teng Qian cleared his throat a few times and stepped forward. "Ahem, you can leave these few to me."

With that, he puffed out his chest and marched valiantly toward the canyon. After just a few steps, however, he felt that his silhouette was a bit lonely.

He glanced back and saw that all the other beastmen were still standing in place, looking at him expectantly.

Teng Qian, who was just about to enter the Shun Yuan’s line of sight, felt his knees start to shake. He scrambled back with a panicked squawk. "What are you all doing?! If I go alone, I’ll be torn to shreds in minutes! Get over here and help!"

Teng Kun scratched his head. "From the ’leave it all to me’ look on your face, I thought you could take them all down by yourself."

Teng Qian growled, "If I was that damn good, why would we have needed the Black Wolf and Lion Tribes to lure the others away? I’d have just charged in, raised hell, and finished them all off in a heartbeat." 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖

Chastised by his older brother, Teng Kun gave a sheepish chuckle. "Don’t be mad, we’re coming now."

Teng Qian nodded in satisfaction. Only then did he lead a few Beastman Warriors in a charge toward the Shun Yuan inside the canyon.

The group didn’t let out any roars, but the Shun Yuan, being exceptionally sensitive to the scent of males, snapped their heads around the instant the warriors entered their sensory range, their eyes gleaming.

Seeing a few males who looked like lost little lambs wander right up to their doorstep, there was no way they’d let them go. One by one, like ravenous predators that had just spotted their next meal, they shrieked and charged.

A moment later, they too had been led away by Teng Qian’s group, disappearing from sight.

Gazing at the empty canyon, a forest wind blew past, sending a few leaves fluttering down. All that remained was silence.

Yuan Lang walked straight in. In the same cave they had used for resting before, he found the captured Beastmen from the Lion Tribe.

The group was plastered against the cave wall, craning their necks to peek outside. When they saw the Beastman Warriors of the Snow Tiger Tribe, they nearly burst into manly tears.
