Surviving in the Beast World with a System
Chapter 432 - 362: Forest Fire (3)
After feeding the three little Fireball Beasts a few fresh fruits, Wu Yue looked to her tribesmen. "What if we take these three Fireball Beasts back to the tribe?"
The Beastman Warriors were so shocked their jaws almost hit the ground. They stared at Wu Yue in disbelief. "But these are Fireball Beasts! It would be too dangerous to bring them back to the tribe."
"They’re just three small cubs, and they only eat common grass. If we take them back to the tribe and have dedicated Beastman Warriors watch over them, we can collect their dung every day."
At this, the eyes of the Beastman Warriors instantly lit up.
Yuan Lang nodded in agreement. "As long as we have dedicated Beastman Warriors watching them and we keep them in a pen at night, there shouldn’t be a problem."
With that, he singled out four Beastman Warriors. "You four, take these three Fireball Beast cubs back to the tribe. Tell the witch and the Clan Leader about the dung, then guard the three Fireball Beasts carefully."
The four Beastman Warriors exchanged uneasy glances. "Yuan Lang, if we go back, your party will be much smaller. That’s too dangerous."
"We’ll escort you part of the way, then we’ll rejoin the Beastman Warriors from the other three tribes. It will be much safer once all four tribes are together."
Wu Yue nodded. "You should listen to Yuan Lang. These three Fireball Beasts are very important to us. You must get them back to the tribe safely."
Entrusted with such a task, the four beastmen instantly felt the weight of their responsibility.
They escorted the group all the way to the border between the two tribal territories. Only after watching them set foot on Snow Tiger Tribe land did Yuan Lang lead his remaining people back toward the spot where they had pitched their tents before the fire.
As if they knew Yuan Lang’s group would come looking, the Beastman Warriors from the other three tribes had left a clear scent trail along their path.
Following the scent, they finally reunited with the Beastman Warriors from the other three tribes at the edge of the deep forest.
Seeing that the Snow Tiger Tribe had lost a few warriors, the beastmen from the other three tribes felt their hearts sink.
"Did you run into danger on the way?"
Yuan Lang nodded, his expression grave. "We ran into a pack of Saber-toothed Pig Fierce Beasts. Two of our tribesmen were injured, so I sent two others to escort them back.
"We’re about to enter the deep forest; bringing them along would have been too difficult."
Though the other beastmen were suspicious, they said nothing. After all, their lives had been saved by the Snow Tiger Tribe’s Witch Disciple.
The herd of Fireball Beasts they had been driving was up ahead, leisurely munching on dry grass.
The Fireball Beasts’ coats were no longer as sleek as they had been before the fire. Many of them now had scorched patches on their fur.
From a distance, they looked surprisingly like red dairy cows.
"How long do we have to follow them?" Wu Yue asked, turning to Yuan Lang beside her.
"We’ll follow them to Cold River. Once we’re past it, we can head back."
’Cold River...’
During the last hunt, she hadn’t heard of a place called Cold River, which meant it was even deeper in the forest.
"Is it in the center of the forest?"
Yuan Lang pursed his lips and nodded. "That’s the second danger zone. Especially this year, with the Fierce Beasts’ territories shifting outward, we’re very likely to run into High Rank Fierce Beasts in the central region."
Wu Yue’s face instantly fell. "This herding of Fireball Beasts... does this happen every year?"
Seeing her little face all wrinkled up like a steamed bun, Yuan Lang couldn’t help but laugh. "Of course. Every rainy season, the Fierce Beasts in the lowlands have to move to higher ground to escape the floods.
"And these Fireball Beasts live in the lowlands."
’Oh, the floods, the floods. You really make life hard for the beasts.’
Perhaps because they had all faced death together, the relationship between the Beastman Warriors of the four tribes had grown much closer.
That evening, everyone sat together, eating and discussing the upcoming trading fair.
When it came to the trading fair, everyone was most curious about the tribes from outside the forest. On that topic, the Beastman Warriors of the Flying Eagle Tribe were the ones who knew the most.
A group of Flying Eagle Tribe warriors found themselves surrounded by beastmen from the other three tribes, sharing what they knew.
"It’ll probably be the usual crowd from the Scorpion Tribe," one of the Flying Eagle warriors said. "But our witch told us to be on high alert this time, to see if that vile Worm Witch tries to sneak in disguised as someone else to cause trouble."
"He made our tribe lose so many cubs. If we catch him, we’ll make him pay."
