Chapter 86: Hypocrites 5.

Bai Li looked at Yan Cijin and understood right away what she meant. She had a wound on her hand, and Yan Cijin was worried that if the blood got on it, it might cause problems. Bai Li did not argue and did not hesitate. Holding the knife in her right hand, she simply extended her left hand a little and said, "Help me."

She said that to Yan Cijin, but her eyes never left Ren Ming. Her attention stayed locked on him, because she knew that any second now, anything could happen. Yan Cijin moved fast. She slipped the glove onto Bai Li’s left hand first, then the right one. The gloves fit her pretty well and did not affect her grip much at all. Once they were on, Bai Li flexed her fingers slightly to check, and she seemed satisfied.

Ren Ming was still convulsing on the ground. His body was bent and twisted in a way that looked painful just to watch. After a few seconds, he seemed to gather some strength back, and he slowly stood up again, though he did it in a shaky, unsteady way. His shoulders looked uneven, and blood was still seeping out of the wound on his chest. He looked terrible, half broken, half changed, and completely unlike the man he had been before. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂

He stared at Bai Li for a moment, like he was thinking very hard about something. Then he turned and looked at Wang Bo. The shift in his eyes was enough to make the room feel even colder. Wang Bo had never been stared at like that by a monster before. Terror flooded his face at once, and tears actually started to gather in his eyes. He cried out to Ren Ming in a panicked voice, "Ming, don’t be impulsive! Look carefully! There’s a cause for every effect, and a debtor for every wrong. It was that woman who hurt you. If you want revenge, you have to target the right person. I’m your former boss, and they’re all your colleagues. You can’t hurt us!"

Wang Bo was almost shouting now, and his voice cracked at the end. He was clearly trying to push the danger away from himself and onto Bai Li, using every word he had left. But the fear in his face made it hard for anyone to believe him. Everyone could see that he was scared of Ren Ming, scared of Bai Li, and scared of being the one caught in the middle. The room stayed tense and silent except for Ren Ming’s rough breathing and the faint sound of blood dripping somewhere near the floor. Nobody moved. Nobody dared to move.

"Help me, help me..." Ren Ming’s voice had already changed. It was rough and broken now, like his throat had been cut up from the inside, and the sound of it made everyone’s skin crawl. As he kept speaking, he dragged himself forward toward Wang Bo and the others, and the dark purple blood still poured out from the wound on his chest. The smell was awful, thick and rotten, and it spread through the air so fast that several people almost gagged. Ren Ming’s steps were stiff, but each one still carried a kind of crazy force, like something inside him was pushing him forward no matter what. Then he suddenly opened his arms wide and lunged straight at Wang Bo.

If it had not been for the fact that he had been trying so hard to curry favor with Wang Bo from the start, he would never have been the one to stick his neck out in the first place. He had taken a risk because he thought it would be worth it, because he thought Wang Bo and the others would at least care a little if something happened. And now, after being stabbed like this, he could see the truth clearly. It was Bai Li who had done it, yes, but when he looked around, only Peng Xiao among all those supervisors and coworkers had shown even a little concern for him. The others had just stood there, cold and quiet, like they were watching a show that had nothing to do with them. That kind of coldness burned more than the pain in his body. Since everyone was so scared of death, then fine, they might as well die together.

Ren Ming’s eyes slowly started to roll upward. The white in his eyes began to spread, while the color of his pupils faded away little by little. His face looked more twisted by the second, and the ugly change was becoming more obvious with every breath he took. He grabbed Wang Bo hard, then opened his mouth wide, ready to bite straight into him. The others were all terrified. They scattered in all directions and ran for their lives, not even looking back. Zhang Fan reached out and tugged at Ren Ming a couple of times, but he quickly found out that he could not move him at all. Ren Ming’s body had become heavy and stiff, like a machine locked in place by violence and madness. Seeing that he could not pull him away, Zhang Fan immediately let go and ran off too, keeping as far from Ren Ming as he could.

Wang Bo pressed his hand tightly against Ren Ming’s chest, as if that could somehow stop him. His face was pale and full of panic, and he shouted at the top of his lungs, "Help me! Help me! I’m the dean! If you save me, I’ll promote you all after this is over..." His voice sounded desperate and thin, and it kept breaking as he spoke. He was clearly trying to use his position to buy his own life, but no one was willing to bet on his promises anymore. Before he could even finish the sentence, Ren Ming had already bitten through the artery in his neck. Blood shot out in a sudden violent spray, and Wang Bo’s whole body jerked hard. Ren Ming, however, did not stop.
