Chapter 277: Five Minutes Earlier

Five minutes earlier, on Cagbalete Island. Lin Feng was using his system and kept summoning mutated zombies to increase his forces. His encounter with the boss of the Blackwatch made him realize that this war was going to be a difficult one, especially when the enemy could summon an unlimited supply of weapons and troops.

While doing that, his harem stood behind him like a statue, waiting to be ordered by him. But he saw no need for an order as he was still in the middle of coming up with a plan.

"Master," Su Xue stepped forward. "We should go back to the mainland, scatter our main forces, and look for the Blackwatch Headquarters. It won’t do us any good if you place us all here."

Lin Feng stopped summoning the mutated zombies as he glanced over his shoulder. "Su Xue, are you questioning my decision? We’ll fortify our position here."

"But Master," Su Xue tried to reason, "if we spread out, we might stand a better chance. It’s risky to keep all our forces in one place."

"No," Lin Feng cut her off. "We have enough strength to hold our ground. I won’t scatter our forces based on fear. I took a direct hit from a nuclear bomb, and did I die? No, I didn’t."

"You didn’t die, you were on the verge of it. If you didn’t consume them, you would have died—"

"SHUT UP!"

With a wave of a hand, thick biomass coiled around Su Xue, wrapping tightly around her and squeezing.

Lin Feng’s frustration boiled over as he confronted Su Xue. "I already followed your advice once, retreating because you said Blackwatch had nuclear capabilities. And what happened? No strike. We ran for nothing!"

Su Xue, wincing from the tightening biomass, tried to speak calmly. "Master, Blackwatch was likely bluffing to force us into retreat. It’s a common military tactic."

"But you were the one who insisted they were serious!" Lin Feng countered angrily. "Because of that, we’re now stuck on this isolated island, away from the mainland action!"

As he spoke, the biomass around Su Xue constricted further. The thick, sinewy material tightened mercilessly, causing her visible discomfort. She struggled to maintain her composure under the increasing pressure.

"Master, please," she gasped, "I was only trying to make the most logical decision there is. The—They could...argh...they could...have stopped the nuclear strike when they saw us retreating....If we...argh....Master...they could have done...i-it!"

Lin Feng’s anger showed no signs of abating as he pulled Su Xue closer to him with the biomass. His expression twisted with fury, he raised his hand and delivered a harsh slap across her face.

"You made me look weak, Su Xue!" Lin Feng shouted scornfully. "Because of you, we appeared pathetic in front of our enemies. Well, there is a way for you to reprimand your mistakes and that is..." he looked at her from top to bottom. "Well, I don’t think I have to say the obvious."

"You are my Master...I will do anything to satisfy you. As your slave, if you order me to die, I will kill myself. I deeply apologize."

Lin Feng’s demeanor remained cold and unyielding as he stared at Su Xue, who was now visibly trembling.

"Enough," Lin Feng said abruptly, his voice low but commanding. "Your apologies won’t change the situation. But your loyalty... that may yet be of some use."

He released his magical hold on her, allowing the biomass to retract and giving her a moment to regain her composure. Su Xue straightened up, her eyes lowered in submission.

"As your master, I expect nothing less than total obedience," Lin Feng continued. "Your suggestions are noted, but remember, it is I who makes the final decisions. We are staying on this island for now. Increase the defenses, and keep summoning more forces. We’re not done here until I told everyone so."

"Yes master, as you wish," Su Xue pressed her forehead to the ground in a gesture of absolute obedience. She remained in that position until her ears picked something up.

"Master...requesting permission to stand," Su Xue said hesitantly, her voice slightly muffled against the ground.

Lin Feng, his focus momentarily diverted from his summoning ritual, glanced down at her. "Granted," he responded tersely, his tone indicating that he was still displeased but willing to move past the incident for the time being.

Su Xue rose cautiously, her movements measured to avoid any further wrath from Lin Feng. "Master...I think I’m hearing the sound of a jet engine from above. I think Blackwatch has found us."

Lin Feng glanced to the sky and his hearing sensed a faint droning sound, growing steadily louder. "Blackwatch huh? They must have seen us from their satellites."

"That is a possibility, making our position here quite vulnerable," Su Xue added.

Lin Feng nodded, his eyes still fixed on the sky. "They’re likely planning a strike. We need to be ready." He turned to his followers, issuing rapid commands. "Prepare for combat."

Five minutes later, Lin Feng’s forces prepared themselves for what was to come, and then seconds later. They could hear something whistling in the skies, a sign that a bomb was being dropped on their location.

And then one by one, those bombs detonated upon impact. Lin Feng and his harems already cast their protective skills, protecting them from the relentless bombs that are falling from the sky.

"From what I can tell, they are using a B-52."

Lin Feng ignored Su Xue’s ramblings as he held on.

One minute later, in the aftermath of the bombing, Lin Feng and his group were under significant stress. The relentless bombing had challenged their defenses, and Lin Feng had to act quickly. Using his system, he upgraded one of his abilities, leading to black wings sprouting from his back.

As the explosions ceased and the dust settled, Lin Feng’s group took stock of their situation. The island was heavily damaged, but thanks to their protective measures, they had managed to survive the onslaught, though some of the mutated zombies they summoned perished.

Lin Feng, now with his new wings, looked to the sky and followed the hovering B-52 in the air.

"You attack us and now you are getting away like a coward?" Lin Feng scoffed. "If I was a person a moment ago, I would have let you go because I had no chance of pursuing you, but how about now?"

With a powerful thrust, Lin Feng launched himself into the air, his black wings carrying him upwards at an incredible speed. He was now not just a ground-based threat but a force to be reckoned with in the air.
