Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse With My Military System
Chapter 285: It must be the Americans
At Clark International Airport. December 7th, 2023, Three days after the initial contact from the Cheyenne Mountain Complex. It was a cold morning at the runway, and the airport was alive with the activities of aircraft personnel and the aircraft themselves.
But one that stood in attention was an airplane, about to land at the airport. It was the Airbus A350 that he bought from his system, costing him about 40,000,000 gold coins. To his gold balance account, that’s like paying a cent.
He wanted to make it appear that the plane came from somewhere to lessen suspicion from the locals who had been wondering about the increase of the aircraft. One of the cons of having a summoning system is that you have to explain it to them in a logical way.
Standing behind him were Mark and Sara, wearing their formal attire and standing in attention like they always do in a military setting. Next to him was his little sister, Lisa, who was eagerly watching the plane slowing down on the runway. He told her about him meeting the United States President and when she asked if she could come, and that it would be his first time leaving the country, as a brother, Richard couldn’t say no. The prospect of a new experience, especially under such extraordinary circumstances, sparked a light in her eyes that Richard hadn’t seen in a long time.
As the Airbus A350 rolled to a stop, Richard couldn’t help but admire its sleek design and imposing presence on the tarmac. It was the first non-military aircraft that he had summoned ever since the apocalypse started. It kind of gave off a sense of normalcy in the situation. But of course, those thoughts were purely a form of escapism.
A stair truck approached the Airbus A350, aligning itself with the aircraft’s door. Richard watched as the crew efficiently prepared the plane for disembarkation. One by one, he saw the pilot, co-pilot, the stewardess, and other crews that would maintain the aircraft. Those personnel were included in the cost so he’d expect high-standard service from them.
Meanwhile, Graves approached him from behind, along with his team of Delta Forces which consisted of ten personnel.
"Sir..." Graves called.
Richard glanced over his shoulder and raised his brow. "Any report you got on?"
Graves nodded. "The latest satellite footage tasked in the Cheyenne Mountain Complex showed U.S forces mobilizing to secure the runway by clearing all the infected in the area."
"Did they succeed?" Richard asked.
"Well, we are about to find out..." Graves paused, checking his watch on his wrist. "About another hour or two."
"What’s your assessment about the U.S. Forces? Would they become a bother to us once we landed?" Richard added.
Graves shook his head. "I don’t think the U.S. government would be stupid to raise any conflict with us, especially when they’ve initiated this meeting. From what we’ve seen, they’re taking this seriously and are more focused on safeguarding the area against any external threats, particularly the infected. They seem to be operating at full capacity in this regard."
Richard nodded, processing the information. "Good. Keep monitoring the situation. I want real-time updates. Any change in their movement or behavior, I want to know immediately."
"Understood, sir. We’ll maintain constant surveillance," Graves affirmed.
Just then, the crew of the A350 Airbus already arrived in front of them.
"So you will be the crew that will take us to the continental United States," Richard mused. "Well, let’s get going then."
"Yes sir!" The crew of the Airbus A350 responded.
Richard, followed by Mark, Sara, Graves, and Lisa, made their way into the cabin. The interior of the plane was functional yet comfortable, designed for long-haul flights. The seats were arranged in a practical layout, providing enough space for the team to sit together and discuss their strategy during the flight.
Lisa, wide-eyed with excitement, took her seat near the window, her gaze fixed on the runway as the plane started taxiing. This was her first trip abroad, and despite the serious nature of their mission, her enthusiasm was palpable.
Richard settled into his seat, his mind already on the meeting with President William. He glanced around, ensuring that everyone was comfortable and prepared for the journey ahead. Mark and Sara were reviewing some notes, while Graves checked his communication equipment, ensuring they remained in contact with their base throughout the flight.
Of course, they won’t be going there alone in a commercial aircraft. Five F-35s were being fueled along with one Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker that would refuel the fighter jets in mid-air. Yeah, this would definitely raise more questions for Richard when they meet the president, but you can’t go into a foreign country without protection.
The P.A. system of the aircraft chimed. "This is your pilot speaking, we will be departing shortly for our flight to the Cheyenne Mountain Complex in Colorado. The total flight duration will be approximately 12 hours. We expect to arrive there around 8:00 PM local time. We’ll be cruising at an altitude of 35,000 feet and will be accompanied by our fighter escort for added security. Please ensure that your seatbelts are fastened and all carry-on luggage is securely stowed. Our crew is here to ensure a comfortable journey, so do not hesitate to reach out if you need any assistance. Thank you for flying with us today." 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
"What the heck is this...a normal commercial flight?" Richard muttered under his breath, chuckling. "The pilot must have some good sense of humor."
As the pilot finished his announcement, the engines of the Airbus A350 started to roar to life, signaling the beginning of their journey. Richard glanced out the window, observing the F-35s lining up on the runway, ready to escort them.
The aircraft began to taxi towards the runway and then paused as the pilot communicated from the air tower and was given clearance for takeoff. The plane picked up speed and lifted off the ground smoothly. As they ascended, Richard could see the landscape below shrinking away and saw part of the region in either a dilapidated state or in ruins.
In the cabin, Lisa pressed her face against the window, her eyes sparkling with wonder at the sight below. He doesn’t know why because the view below is not that attractive but perhaps it must be because of her riding an airplane.

Twelve hours later, the flight encountered no problem, with the KC-135 Stratotanker that he purchased along with the Airbus A350 refueling the escort fighter aircraft.
Almost suddenly...Graves stood up from his seat and walked to Richard’s spot.
"Sir...we detected two bogeys heading to our location," Graves reported.
"Well...it must be the Americans."
