Chapter 293: Diversion

Richard glanced around the battlefield and saw that the super soldiers were mobilized as well. From the looks of it, it was like a war between humans and zombies, but the zombies were either being beaten to death or their bodies shredded by the incessant fire from weapons of varying caliber. Tanks, armored personnel carriers, and infantry fighting vehicles added their formidable firepower to the fray, their heavy guns thundering as they engaged the undead horde.

The tanks, positioned strategically, fired their main guns, each shell causing devastating explosions amidst the ranks of the undead. Armored personnel carriers maneuvered across the battlefield, providing cover and support for the infantry, while their mounted weapons sprayed bullets into the advancing zombies.

Infantry fighting vehicles, agile and heavily armed, darted through the battlefield, their autocannons and machine guns mowing down zombies

On the ground, Blackwatch soldiers, clad in their advanced combat gear, fought fiercely. They moved in coordinated squads, their training evident in their disciplined approach to combat. Each soldier seemed to be an expert in their role, whether it was laying down suppressing fire, flanking enemy positions, or providing medical assistance to their comrades.

As Richard observed the battle, he could see the effect of their combined arms approach, and it was quite an effective strategy against the zombies. Little by little, the zombies are being pushed back to the outskirts of the city.

However—. Mutated zombies posed a problem to the front. Hunters, Juggernauts, Hydra, Flyers, Cerberus, and even Goliath! They were all starting to appear on the battlefield.

"Eagle to Blackwatch Actual, I need you to disrupt Lin Feng’s summoning of those hordes. Use LGM-30 Minuteman with a nuclear warhead."

"Eagle this is Blackwatch Actual, we have received your directives but need further confirmation. Are you saying that we should nuke Lin Feng now, without informing our ally, the United States?" Mark responded.

"Affirmative, Blackwatch Actual," Richard replied decisively. "Lin Feng’s summoning abilities are escalating the threat level beyond our current capacity. We need to act fast and decisively. A tactical nuke might be our best shot at stopping him.

Mark hesitated for a moment, understanding the gravity of the order. "Understood, Eagle. Preparing the LGM-30 Minuteman for launch. We’ll aim to disrupt Lin Feng’s summoning and kill him."

"Well...let’s hope that’d be easy," Richard replied as he returned to the task at hand, that is clearing the zombies.

Meanwhile, in China, it is the same date and time. Lin Feng completed his summons and rose to his feet.

"We are going now," Lin Feng said simply.

"Already?" Su Xue tilted her head to the side.

"Yes...it would be apparently obvious that it was me causing the horde, so the Blackwatch will retaliate to stop me. I’m guessing they have a satellite pointing at us from up there, and they are probably aiming their intercontinental ballistic missile at us."

"But if they see us leave this site, the missile is simply going to hound us. They have sophisticated targeting systems," Su Xue expressed her concern.

"I know but I have just gained a skill that will definitely fool the Blackwatch," Lin Feng grinned, he opened his system and unlocked that skill. He activated it in an instant and suddenly, Lin Feng’s arm transformed into an extraordinary sight. The blood, resembling liquid crimson metal, swirled around his arm, forming intricate patterns before coalescing into a solid form. The air around him shimmered as if reacting to an invisible energy, and a semi-transparent, ghostly figure began to take shape beside him.

This spectral figure was a perfect replication of Lin Feng himself, down to the smallest detail. It stood there, mirroring Lin Feng’s posture and appearance,

Su Xue watched in awe and slight horror as Lin Feng’s new skill manifested. The duplicate was so lifelike it was almost impossible to tell it apart from the real Lin Feng.

Lin Feng turned to his creation. "This is my new skill, ’Blood Mirage.’ It creates a perfect copy of myself using my own blood. It can act independently and will be indistinguishable from most detection methods. If the Blackwatch saw that leaving this building, then they’d naturally aim for it, thinking they’ve got me," Lin Feng explained. The Blood Mirage nodded, its movements echoing Lin Feng’s own. It was a disconcerting sight, watching the two identical figures converse.

Su Xue, still processing the scene before her, nodded. "So, you order the Blood Mirage to go to a different location and then have him stay there? It’s a good diversion tactic but with one significant flaw, it’s only you, master. What about the rest of your harem?"

"It’s not a problem," Lin Feng smirked as he activated his Blood Mirage skill again, creating a clone of each of his associates in perfect detail as if there were two of each person standing in the room.

"Now," Lin Feng turned and addressed the clones. "Scram out of here."

With a synchronized nod, Lin Feng’s double and associates began exiting the building that had been under surveillance by a satellite Blackwatch.

In the Blackwatch Command Center, New Clark City.

"They are moving, it seems that the summoning has stopped and is trying to escape." one of the operators reported.

Mark and Sara approached the station of the operator and confirmed it visually.

"They are moving huh? Where are they going?" Sara noted.

"Possibly to a new location," Mark replied. "And oh—they seemed to be separating from one another."

"Diversion," Sara observed. "Focus the view on Lin Feng and inform us once he settles to a new location. The moment we do that, we will begin the launch sequence of the LGM-30 Minuteman."

The operator nodded and continued to monitor the movement of the figures on the screen

Moments later, the operator reported.

"Lin Feng has stopped in this building in Dongcheng District, Beijing," the operator pointed out a specific building on the satellite imagery. "It appears to be an abandoned warehouse in a relatively isolated area."

Mark and Sara leaned in, examining the screen closely. The building in question was indeed secluded, which could either mean Lin Feng was seeking a hideout or it was another diversion tactic. But they watched and saw no movements. There’s a high chance of him staying there.

"Okay, let’s proceed with the launch sequence," Sara commanded. The atmosphere in the command center was tense as the launch sequence for the LGM-30 Minuteman was initiated.

In China, Lin Feng, watching from his true location, remained calm. His Blood Mirage, standing in the abandoned warehouse, was a perfect decoy. He was confident in his plan, aware that Blackwatch was about to make a significant move based on his deception.

Back at the command center, the final confirmation was given. The missile, a long-range intercontinental ballistic missile equipped with a nuclear warhead, was launched.

As the missile soared through the sky, its path was tracked by satellites and ground stations.

Finally, the missile reached its destination over the Dongcheng District of Beijing. The nuclear warhead detonated upon impact, unleashing a devastating explosion. The warehouse, along with its surrounding buildings, was obliterated in an instant, reduced to dust by the immense power of the nuclear explosion. The blast radiated outwards, leveling everything in its vicinity.

In the command center, a solemn silence fell over the room as they observed the aftermath of the strike. The screens showed a massive cloud of debris and dust where the warehouse once stood. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶

"Target hit—but we are going to have an explanation ready for the president of the United States," Mark said.
