Chapter 333: The Final Clash Begins

Meanwhile, on the opposite side of the city. Richard received a report from his communication channel.

"Eagle, Lin Feng is rampaging in the northern sector and has taken a lot of casualties. The mechas that we have sent to hold him were eliminated."

"This is Eagle, I copy. I’ll head there to the location immediately and confront him," Richard responded.

"Copy that Eagle, sending you the coordinates of Lin Feng, you should see it on your heads-up display...now," Mark said.

The holographic screen flickered to life and a map with a red pulsating dot indicating Lin Feng’s location appeared before Richard’s eyes.

"Graves, you’ll handle the fort here," Richard said, turning his head towards Graves who just crushed a zombie skull with his hands.

"Me? You are going there alone sir?" Graves asked, tilting his head to the side. "Confronting him alone is dangerous."

"I know...but who is going to handle all of this should we all confront Lin Feng?" Richard pointed, glancing around them where mutated zombies such as Goliaths, Juggernauts, Hunter, Hydra, literally every zombie that they came across since the start of the apocalypse, are here.

Graves clicked his tongue, acknowledging Richard’s concern. "Understood, sir. I’ll hold the fort here and coordinate with the remaining units to maintain control of the situation," Graves replied sternly.

With a nod of appreciation, Richard turned and activated the thrusters of his suit, soaring into the sky toward Lin Feng’s location. As he flew over the city, Flyers swarmed along his way.

Richard activated his plasma blade and cut his way through the flock of Flyers, their screeches echoing in the air as they fell to the ground. Pressing onward, Richard maintained his course toward Lin Feng’s location, determined to confront the threat head-on.

As Richard flew over the city towards Lin Feng’s location, the devastation wrought by the ongoing battle came into full view. Strewn across the streets were the remains of both Blackwatch and United States soldiers, their uniforms torn and bloodied, their weapons abandoned amidst the chaos. Immobilized and destroyed military hardware littered the landscape, including tanks, armored personnel carriers, and the lifeless husks of mechas.

He shifted his focus back on the pulsating dot indicating Lin Feng’s location on his heads-up display. With grim determination, Richard pressed on, navigating through the city’s war-torn streets.

As he approached the designated coordinates, Richard’s senses sharpened his every instinct on high alert. He could feel the tension in the air, a palpable sense of anticipation as he drew closer to his target.

Suddenly, a loud explosion rocked the city, jolting Richard from his thoughts. He glanced towards the source of the blast and saw a towering column of smoke rising into the sky. Without hesitation, he redirected his course toward the scene of the explosion, knowing that Lin Feng must be nearby.

As he neared the source of the disturbance, Richard spotted movement amidst the debris—a figure clad in black, his presence unmistakable. It was Lin Feng, his aura radiating power and menace as he surveyed the destruction he had wrought.

"Oh...look who we have here, Iron Man. I don’t know what to call you but your suit looked like it was from the movies," Lin Feng said, glancing over his shoulder.

"Lin Feng..." Richard spoke, his voice amplified by the suit’s

speakers to ensure it carried over the sounds of destruction around them. "Your rampage ends here."

Lin Feng turned to face Richard, a smirk playing on his lips. "So we meet again? Leaders to leaders. So you want to end this war right here and now?"

"That is what I intend to do," Richard said, activating his plasma blade.

Lin Feng knew that Richard’s suit was the real deal. He had to use his demonic form just so he could keep up with it. This is not the time for him to show off, if he wants to win this war, he’ll have to give it his all from the start.

With that, Lin Feng transformed. Black swings sprouted on his back, an arm blade from his right arm, and twin horns protruding from his forehead as he unleashed his demonic form.

Richard narrowed his eyes, he could certainly feel that Lin Feng was stronger than before, but Lin Feng was still in the middle of his transformation.

Well, he is not going to wait for that. Michael activated his plasma cannon and fired a beam of plasma energy directly at Lin Feng, aiming to disrupt his transformation process and catch him off guard. The blast struck Lin Feng squarely, sending him staggering backward with a roar of pain.

"Due to your edginess that dripped on your every word, I have assumed that you have watched animes or read light novels, where most of the time, they would wait for the other character to transform fully before attacking. But this wasn’t one of those stories. In battle, every second counted."

After saying that, Richard dashed forward, the plasma blade at the ready. Lin Feng finished the transformation and radiated a powerful shockwave that blasted every creature and debris in its path. Caught off guard by the sudden shockwave, Richard was thrown backward, his suit’s thrusters struggling to stabilize him in the air. Despite his best efforts to maintain his balance, the force of the shockwave was too great, and Richard crashed into a nearby building with a resounding impact.

As the dust settled around him, Richard shook off the daze and quickly assessed his surroundings. The building he had crashed into was partially collapsed, debris littering the ground around him. His suit’s sensors indicated no significant damage, but he could feel the strain of the impact coursing through his body.

Gritting his teeth, Richard pushed himself to his feet and activated his thrusters once more, propelling himself back into the air. Their blades met with a spark, with each of them struggling to gain the upper hand in their fierce melee.

With every clash of their blades, a resounding shockwave echoed through the air, rattling the nearby structures and sending debris flying in all directions. Richard and Lin Feng were locked in a brutal melee, their blades flashing and sparking with each strike.

Lin Feng could feel the weight of Richard’s blade, it was getting heavier and stronger. And he can’t seem to hit him. Every time an opening was made, he would go for it but only to be misled. It seemed that every attack he made was anticipated by Richard.

"Why I can’t land a hit on him?!" Lin Feng cursed inwardly as he continued to clash with Richard, frustration mounting with each failed attempt to strike his opponent.

With a sudden burst of speed, Lin Feng feigned an attack to Richard’s left, aiming to draw his attention away from his true target. As Richard moved to intercept the feint, Lin Feng swiftly changed direction, launching a surprise attack at Richard’s exposed flank.

But Richard was ready. Anticipating Lin Feng’s deception, he pivoted gracefully, deflecting the blow with a well-timed parry. With a swift counterattack, Richard drove Lin Feng back.

"Lin Feng...this is where you will die!"
