Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse With My Military System
Chapter 352: The Emergence Again
In the early hours of the morning, a chilling silence enveloped the cities of East Asia, a silence abruptly shattered by the earth-shaking roar of monsters. From Beijing to Seoul to Tokyo, the ground trembled as new Goliath-like creatures erupted from beneath the asphalt.
In downtown Beijing, a colossal figure tore through the city streets. It was a terrifying visage, standing a staggering 100 meters tall, with two heads and four muscular arms, each limb flexing with immense power. Its dual heads roared in unison and seemed to shake the air itself. The creature’s eyes, a deep, glowing red, scanned the surroundings, locking onto the hastily assembled Black Watch team deployed to intercept.
Seoul faced a similar threat. Near the Han River, another of these behemoths burst forth, its massive frame casting a shadow over the city as the morning sun rose. This creature seemed even more menacing, if possible, its skin a mottled gray that shimmered with a strange luminescence. Its four arms swung wildly, smashing into nearby buildings with the force of a natural disaster, reducing structures to rubble within seconds.
Meanwhile, Tokyo’s scenario was the most dire. In the Shibuya district, a twin-headed monster emerged right next to the famous scramble crossing. Towering over the surrounding architecture, the creature’s every step caused the ground to shudder, its red eyes sweeping across the sea of abandoned vehicles and dilapidated buildings.
While all of that was happening, the Blackwatch Command Center received reports from their bases in those countries, calling and coordinating a response to the unfolding crisis. In the midst of the chaos, Richard was asleep in his office at the headquarters, exhausted from days of non-stop crisis management.
The door to his office creaked open, and Mark stepped in, The situation had escalated beyond any normal containment protocols, and he knew it was crucial to wake him.
"Sir, you need to wake up now," Mark said firmly. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
Richard rubbed his eyes and quickly focused on Mark. "The hell Mark, I’m having a good sleep, what is it?"
Mark quickly replied, "Sir, we’ve got multiple emergences of giant monsters in major East Asian cities. The situation is critical, and we need your direction on the ground operations."
Richard swiftly transitioned from the grogginess of sleep to the sharp focus required by his role. He stood up, straightening his uniform as he walked over to the large screens displaying real-time footage from Beijing, Seoul, and Tokyo. The images were chaotic, showing the colossal creatures causing destruction.
"Get me the status updates from all site commanders and patch me through to the regional defense coordinators. I need to speak with them immediately," Richard ordered as he watched the screens, analyzing the movements and behaviors of the creatures.
Mark nodded and quickly relayed the orders through his headset, coordinating with other staff to set up the communications. Within minutes, Richard was on a secure video conference with the site commanders.
"Okay, tell me where those monsters emerged?" Richard asked, focusing on the locations and any patterns that could be discerned.
The commanders quickly provided the coordinates and descriptions of the emergence points. "In Beijing, the creature burst through near the central business district. In Seoul, it was close to the Han River, possibly suggesting a preference for areas near water bodies," reported the Seoul commander. "And in Tokyo, it emerged right in the heart of Shibuya."
Richard analyzed the information, trying to find a common thread. "Are there any ongoing construction sites, subways, or large underground activities near these points?" he inquired, suspecting that such factors might be related to the emergence of these creatures.
"Uhm yes...sir there are subways and major underground facilities near all these points," replied the Seoul commander. "These areas have a dense network of tunnels and utilities that could potentially provide pathways or harborage for these creatures."
"Okay, similar to Shanghai. They must have originated from the eggs, " Richard concluded, piecing together the emerging pattern. "We need to assume there could be more emerging. Every major city with similar conditions needs to be monitored."
Turning to the immediate threat, Richard’s voice hardened. "For now, we need to stop these creatures before more damage is done. Authorize the use of all available military assets. Helicopters, tanks, APCs—everything we’ve got. If conventional arms don’t work, we will consider deploying tactical nukes."
As the operations unfolded, Richard monitored the live feeds streaming into the Blackwatch Command Center. The streets of Beijing, Seoul, and Tokyo were scenes of chaos with Blackwatch launching a relentless assault on the giant creatures.
In Beijing, a squadron of Apache AH-64 and Bell AH-1Z Viper gunships circled the towering monster, unleashing a hail of armor-piercing rounds from their M230 chain guns and AGM-114 Hellfire missiles. Below them, a line of M1 Abrams tanks and M109 Paladin mobile artillery units took up positions, their barrels aimed skyward.
The tanks fired 120mm sabot rounds, designed to penetrate heavy armor, while the Paladins lobbed 155mm high-explosive shells. Each explosive impact against the creature’s thick hide released a thunderous echo, causing it only to slightly stagger. In retaliation, the creature swept its massive arms, demolishing nearby buildings and sending vehicles flying like toys scattered by a petulant child.
In Seoul, the response was equally forceful. An array of K2 Black Panther tanks advanced towards the creature, supported by K9 Thunder self-propelled howitzers. The K2 tanks, equipped with advanced targeting systems, fired precision-guided munitions aimed at the creature’s joints, attempting to hinder its mobility. Meanwhile, the K9 Thunder units unleashed a barrage of 155mm shells, aiming to weaken the creature’s muscular structure. Above, AH-64 Apache helicopters swooped in, targeting the creature’s heads with Hellfire missiles in a coordinated attack pattern.
The creature in Tokyo saw a diverse array of responses due to its location in a densely populated urban area. Type 10 tanks maneuvered through the streets, using their superior mobility to avoid the creature’s devastating blows while launching 120mm armor-piercing rounds. Accompanying them, AH-64DJP Apache helicopters provided air support, strategically firing missiles to avoid causing undue damage to the surrounding infrastructure. Specialized ground units also deployed experimental weaponry, including electromagnetic pulse (EMP) devices designed to disrupt the creature’s neurological functions temporarily.
As Richard oversaw the operations from the command center, he maintained constant communication with the ground forces, adjusting strategies in real time based on the effectiveness of their assaults and the creatures’ reactions.
"Ah shit...when is this going to end?" Richard ranted.
