Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s
Chapter 2584 - 2577: Flirtatious Banter
"Who’s old!" Qin Jian didn’t like hearing this; he’s over ten years older than his little wife, and he’s afraid An Hao might find him old.
"You’re still vigorous despite your age, alright? Calling you old Qin just shows the depth of our relationship! What are you thinking?" An Hao hadn’t seen Qin Jian in a long time, and upon meeting him, she playfully teased him.
This had become a playful dynamic between them as a couple.
"Just wait. Tonight I’ll show you whether I’m actually old." Qin Jian leaned in close to An Hao’s ear, speaking through gritted teeth.
An Hao felt a chill down her back. "Commander Qin, please go easy on me!"
"That depends on your performance." Qin Jian let out a couple of light grunts.
Ning Chenyang was sitting on the sofa, holding a cookie box in one hand, stuffing cookies into his mouth. Watching his parents’ affectionate interaction, he gulped down the cookie and mumbled, "Here they go again, flirting!"
"You little rascal, what do you know!" Qin Jian heard his son’s words, walked over in big strides, and took the cookie from his hand, saying, "Stop snacking! Tonight your mom is improving our meal!"
"Hooray!" Ning Chenyang tossed the cookie high into the air.
An Hao put a lot of effort into tonight’s dinner, making the dishes very exquisite: sweet and sour ribs, assorted vegetable salad, sliced cucumber, eggplant with minced meat, and a bowl of egg drop soup.
As soon as the dishes were served, the father and son quickly washed their hands, picked up chopsticks, and sat down at the table.
"Mom, give me a bowl of white rice." Ning Chenyang’s mouth watered at the sight of the braised meat, stuffing piece after piece into his mouth.
"Alright. I’ll give you a big bowl." An Hao smiled contentedly, filled their bowls to the brim, and watched them devour the food.
"The food my wife makes is always delicious. I’m so tired of eating at the army canteen every day." Qin Jian said with emotion.
"Then eat more." An Hao put some more food into Qin Jian’s bowl and started talking about the telegram she received this morning, "How long will you stay home? I got a telegram from Brother He today."
"What did the telegram say?" Qin Jian asked.
"He said Guangguang has finished his medicine and asked us to send some more. I was thinking if you’re on break, we could go to He Family Manor and bring the child back. It’s been a while, and I thought Guangguang might need a check-up. It’s already July, school is about to start. If Guangguang’s health has improved, we should bring him back." An Hao said slowly, chewing her food.
"Sounds good. I’m free tomorrow. Why don’t you take a day off, and we can go together?" Qin Jian suggested.
"Alright! Let’s have an early night then."
"Mom, I want to go see my brother too! I’ve never been to He Family Manor!" Ning Chenyang insisted on going with them.
"As long as you behave and don’t cause trouble, you can go see your brother!" An Hao agreed.
"I’ll definitely behave." Ning Chenyang promised, patting his chest.
After dinner, An Hao went to the kitchen to tidy up the pots and pans. Qin Jian looked at Ning Chenyang, who was lying on the sofa, rubbing his round stomach in a daze, and said, "Go, play at your Uncle Tian’s house for a while! Your mom and I have something to talk about."
"Got it!" Ning Chenyang cheerfully climbed off the sofa, "Take your time talking, I’ll play a bit longer before coming back."
Uncle Tian’s Little Nannan was becoming more and more interesting. The little one had learned to talk back, and now after school every day, he preferred staying in and playing with Tian Nannan instead of running around outside.
