Teasing Her Beast Husbands Until They Fall Hard
Chapter 32: Brazen Words
When Su Yaoyao heard this, her eyes flew wide. The smile on her face froze, replaced by an expression that made it look like she wanted to cry but couldn’t.
Suddenly, inspiration struck, and she quickly changed the subject. "Your pet and a little White Lion stayed the night with me, but when I woke up this morning, they were gone. Why don’t we go look for them?"
Reg watched her with his amber eyes, a smile on his face that held a hint of danger. "The little White Lion has already returned to his master, so you don’t need to worry.
As for Leopard, he’s in my room. Want to come with me and see?"
His tone was drawn-out, and every word seemed to have a hook that made Su Yaoyao’s skin crawl.
Su Yaoyao felt there was a deeper meaning to Reg’s words, and she quickly waved her hands in refusal. "N-No, that’s okay." ’Go to your room? I’m afraid you’d eat me alive!’
Seeing her react like this, Reg arched a brow, unimpressed. A flicker of disappointment, almost too quick to see, crossed his eyes before vanishing.
’I knew it,’ he thought to himself. ’This little female doesn’t have the guts.’
"Oh, right, how are your injuries?" Su Yaoyao asked, throwing out another question to break the strange silence.
Her tone was tinged with concern, and her eyes filled with worry. After seeing him injured before, she still couldn’t quite rest easy.
Hearing this, the corners of Reg’s mouth curved up uncontrollably, revealing a smug smile.
He was secretly thrilled; so this little female did care about him after all.
He deliberately leaned closer to Su Yaoyao, a wicked smile on his face, and said, "Don’t worry, we Beastmen are incredibly tough. I could go twenty rounds with you right now and it wouldn’t be a problem."
When Su Yaoyao heard this, she was completely stunned. Her eyes grew even wider, her mouth fell slightly agape, looking as if she had been struck by lightning.
’What kind of shameless talk is this?!’ Her mind went completely blank. She subconsciously censored Reg’s words, pretending she hadn’t heard him.
But even so, her face uncontrollably turned scorching hot and red, like a ripe tomato.
And then there was Reg’s scorching gaze, which seemed to carry a tangible desire to devour her whole, making it impossible to ignore.
The air itself seemed to crackle with the heated, ambiguous atmosphere, and Su Yaoyao wished she could find a hole to crawl into and hide.
She racked her brains, trying to think of another topic to change the subject, but her mind felt like a tangled mess that she couldn’t sort out.
Watching her shy expression, the delight in Reg’s heart swelled, and his mischievous mood intensified.
He deliberately leaned in closer, his warm breath brushing gently past Su Yaoyao’s ear. "What’s wrong? Your face is so red. What are you thinking about? The process? We could actually do it once right now. I’m in great shape."
Su Yaoyao trembled all over, shrinking back so violently that she almost tipped over, wheelchair and all.
She stammered, "Y-You... stop talking nonsense!"
In her panic, she accidentally knocked over a cup on the table. With a CLANG, the crisp sound was particularly jarring in the quiet room, and it momentarily eased the tense atmosphere.
Su Yaoyao hurriedly bent down to pick it up, trying to use the motion to escape Reg’s gaze, which was making her flustered.
Seeing this, Reg bent down unhurriedly to help her pick up the cup, a faint smile on his lips.
His fingers inadvertently brushed against Su Yaoyao’s. She snatched her hand back as if she’d been electrocuted, the blush on her face deepening.
Reg watched Su Yaoyao’s adorable reaction, the wicked smile on his face growing even more pronounced.
He straightened up and said slowly, "Not only that, but I’ve also moved in with you. And for the next few days, Bai Lian has to handle affairs during the day, so it’ll just be me here with you."
"Y-You... what did you say?" Su Yaoyao’s voice trembled as she stared at Reg in disbelief, her eyes wide.
The thought of having to spend the day alone with Reg, when her heart was already in turmoil from their charged exchange, felt like an invisible hand was squeezing it tight, nearly suffocating her.
"Aren’t you a Deputy General? Don’t you have matters to attend to as well?" Su Yaoyao asked in a panic, trying to find a flaw in Reg’s plan.
Reg arched a brow, a roguish curve to his lips. "I am. But I’m still in confinement. The location of my confinement has just been changed to this house."
He and Bai Lian had reached a mutually beneficial agreement...
Hearing this, Su Yaoyao felt a chill run down her spine, as if she were being watched by a wild beast. ’Is Reg going to eat me alive?’
Reg, seeing that he had teased her enough, wiped the wicked smile from his face. After all, if he pushed too hard, the little female might actually cry.
His tone softened unconsciously. "Don’t be afraid. I won’t eat you—though that’s debatable. If you need anything, just let me know. I’ll take good care of you." His voice was low and soft, tinged with a gentleness that even he didn’t notice.
Su Yaoyao, completely on guard, looked up at Reg with eyes full of suspicion, unable to believe his sudden change in attitude.
"Really? You’d better not be teasing me again." Her voice, still holding the remnants of a choked sob, trembled slightly, like a frightened fawn.
Seeing her like this, Reg’s heart softened. He squatted down slightly, bringing his line of sight level with Su Yaoyao’s, trying to convey his sincerity.
Reg began to speak slowly, his voice lacking its usual playful cynicism and gaining a new gravity. "Actually, the reason I moved in is to protect you better.
Do you know? A female with spiritual power as strong as yours is unheard of in the entire Empire—no, in all of interstellar space."
A flicker of worry crossed Reg’s eyes. "You’re too naive. You don’t yet understand what you’re worth.
Your spiritual power is too strong. If people with ill intentions learn of it, they will undoubtedly do everything they can to use you or harm you. Only when I’m by your side can I ensure your safety."
His tone was firm and resolute, as if he were making a promise to Su Yaoyao.
As Su Yaoyao listened to Reg, her fear of him gradually faded. She studied the man before her and suddenly realized that beneath his cynical exterior, there seemed to be an incredibly passionate and sincere heart.
"Then... can you not make those weird jokes anymore?" she asked in a small voice, a hint of hope in her tone.
Reg couldn’t help but smile. He didn’t agree. In his eyes, wasn’t this just flirting with the little female? Besides, he got to see her amusing and adorable reactions.
He only said, "I’ll be more careful in the future." His eyes were full of doting affection, as if he were looking at the most precious treasure in the world.
But it was mixed with a thick, uncontrollable possessiveness—a desire to make her his own.
’Yaoyao, I’m starting to look forward to our nights together.’
