Unexpectedly, Yun Qiqi wasn’t fooled, indicating that she only does work-related things during working hours and has no desire to accompany him on business trips.

The Doctor noticed her silence, perhaps recalling something, and after a moment, he spoke again: "I told you last time, anything you’re curious about, when you return, I’ll tell you everything."

Yun Qiqi frowned, "What do you know?"

Doctor: "About your memory, and the matters between you and Yan Yan."

Yun Qiqi was taken aback, not expecting him to mention these proactively.

If it indeed was as Tong Xi and Chen Yuchen speculated, shouldn’t the Doctor be doing his utmost to bury these truths?

Shouldn’t he not want her to recover her memory, not even letting her know that she used to know Yan Yan?

She couldn’t quite grasp what the Doctor wanted to do.

After hesitating, she spoke, "Alright, I’ll return tomorrow."

The Doctor perhaps sensed her caution, sighed, and then continued:

"Qi Qi, I know you have many doubts in your heart. Ever since you started interacting with Yan Yan, I’ve considered what he might tell you, but please believe me, no one in this world can be more sincere to you than I am."

"You are the rare treasure of this world and the culmination of my life’s work. I won’t hurt you."

Yun Qiqi’s eyes carried a hint of complexity, and after several seconds of silence, she responded with a simple "Okay."

She hung up the phone.

Leaning against the wall, she gently furrowed her brows, her fair little face showing rare confusion.

This matter seems to be getting more and more complicated.

Her instincts leaned toward trusting Yan Yan; that man would never harm her.
