Chapter 271: Blood Control

It was night.

While Sara was still chatting with the others at the white-class dorm, Elsa went to sleep in a guest room.

Olivia, in turn, was in the other training area of Loogam which was located outside and near the academy.

"I see. So Lily knows about him now, too, huh?" Ophelia said.

The two sisters talked to each other while doing some light stretching.

Albeit the late hour, the sisters decided to get some training done.

"She didn’t tell me about that nor did it seem like she had told the others." Ophelia added.

Usually, Ophelia would head regularly to Fuera in order to undergo some training with Olivia. Especially, if she had to train her control over her demonic powers that slumbered in her blood.

"Is that so? Well, it’s not that necessary anymore to keep it a secret. The day he will return is near after all." Olivia stated.

"What? Really?! That’s the first time, I’m hearing about it!"

"No wonder. He decided it on a whim."

"?"

Ophelia tilted her head in confusion.

"The reason he will come is because of the world conference here." Olivia announced with a smirk.

Hearing that, Ophelia could just sigh.

"I have a bad feeling about this..." she muttered tiredly.

Then, Olivia walked toward the center of the training field.

"Enough chitchat for now. Let’s fight!" Olivia said motivatedly, pressing her fists against each other.

Her smirk widened and the veins on her fists were bursting as she charged at Ophelia.

"!"

Ophelia jumped to the side to avoid Olivia’s punch. Still, her punch was so strong that it caused an enormous shockwave in the air.

She turned her face to Ophelia and went after her once more.

This time, Ophelia had to guard the punch with her forearms as she could not dodge in time.

"Tch...!"

She was pushed far away and left behind a trail of her feet on the soil.

After that, Olivia appeared right in front of her again with her fist retracted.

"..."

Ophelia took a deep breath before she dodged.

Following that, she launched a counterattack by launching a punch, too.

Olivia blocked that punch with the palm of her other hand but was also pushed away due to the impact.

"Now you’re locked in...!" Olivia stated excitedly.

While she was extremely amused, Ophelia remained calm and stern.

Ophelia dashed towards her sister. She threw fists and wildly launched kicks at Olivia who, in turn, parried each attack with an attack of her own.

None of them seemed to back off nor was it visible who of them had the upper hand. It was only when Olivia managed to grab Ophelia’s arm and slammed her to the ground that the tides began to shift.

She raised her fist, however, Ophelia put her other arm in an armlock. But that proved to be ineffective against Olivia as she simply raised her arm and Ophelia and slammed her viciously against the ground again.

Ophelia instinctively loosened up.

Then, Olivia attempted to punch her but Ophelia was able to react in time and tried to catch her fist with her palms. The punch was stronger than she thought, ramming her hands into her stomach at the same time as the punch.

"Ack!"

However, Ophelia could not give up yet.

She used the small opening and grabbed Olivia’s neck.

Ophelia pulled her slightly to herself and then headbutted her.

She rolled backward and got up.

And at the same time, sparks flew around their bodies as they charged themselves up with their magic. In addition to that, Ophelia equipped herself with her relics which took the form of two black gauntlets.

The two leaped at the same moment.

Compared to before, their speed increased even more and each time their fists clashed, their surroundings would be affected by the shockwaves.

After a while of exchanging blows, Ophelia finally landed a clean hit on Olivia by kicking her from the side.

"..."

Olivia clenched her stomach in pain.

If it would have been a normal kick or a kick from another person, then that would not have bothered her that much, however, Ophelia’s physical capabilities took a huge leap due to her activating her blood power which enabled her to make use of a demon’s strength. After all, Ophelia was a Rostanta, too.

Beside the pain in her stomach, she noticed her fingers trembling, too.

"..."

She looked at them, knowing fully well that the reason was Ophelia’s relic which would inflict the same pain on the spot it hit in certain intervals.

But she was not the only one suffering from damage. Ophelia was breathing raggedly while having bruises all over her body and face.

"You’re controlling your blood pretty good now, Ophelia." Olivia commented proudly.

A while ago, Ophelia could not use her powers to that extent without losing the control over her own body. Therefore, she had to train how to use her blood correctly under the guidance of her older sister who had no problems making use of her bloodline.

"Sadly, you still won’t beat me...!" Olivia added.

Her smirk looked more threatening now as she readied herself.

More and more sparks and lightning gathered on her body, whereas Ophelia put up her hands with a focused gaze.

The two charged at the other.

"That’s enough for now."

"?!"

However, Lucio appeared between them before they could throw their fists. Following his sudden appearance, Ophelia was the first to back away but Olivia had other plans.

She still smirked and her fist did not look like it would stop even though there was enough time to do so.

"O-Olivia!"

Ophelia understood that Olivia attempted to ambush Lucio who did not show any signs of dodging or blocking.

"..."

Her fist stopped reluctantly midway.

"Do you know how late it is? If the two would go at each other’s throats any longer, then the students will start to sense it and wake up. As a teacher yourself, you should know that, right?" Lucio kindly warned Ophelia.

"..."

Awkwardly, Ophelia averted her eyes.

"The press is trying to pit us against each other as enemies but I hoped to prove them wrong. That’s why I allowed you and the others as special guests inside Loogam."

These words were directed at Olivia who still struggled to push her fist forward.

Lucio passed by Olivia who did not care about him.

"If you want to hit me, then please try to make it less obvious, okay?" he whispered to her with his usual kind and gentle tone.

"I apologize for disrupting your training but please be mindful of the citizens and students here and end it for today." Lucio said as he walked away.

"..."

Ophelia stared at his back indifferently until he was nowhere to be seen anymore.

And only after he was out of sight, Olivia could finally move like she wanted to.

"Tch." she clicked her tongue.

"Are you alright?"

"Yeah."

Olivia was annoyed.

"But was it really smart to behave that way? I thought that we agreed on staying low for now?" Ophelia wondered sternly.

"I know, I know... It’s just that the urge to punch his face took over me the moment I saw him." Olivia remarked.

"Jeez... Don’t cause trouble for us... Just be patient for a little bit longer, okay...?" Ophelia begged, heaving a sigh.

"Fine~"

Ophelia was not really convinced.

"Let’s stop for now and head back." Olivia stated, already walking towards the white-class dorm where she would sleep for the next few days.

Ophelia accompanied her.

"By the way, is your mind set for what’s coming next?" Olivia asked indifferently.

"The moment you give up your position here and join Hunters, you will be regarded as an enemy by at least half of the world." she added, glancing at her sharply.

"Is there a need to ask?" Ophelia chuckled.

"Even if it’s the whole world, I’d rather be regarded as an enemy to them than being the enemy of Hunters."

Hearing that, Olivia had to let out a small chuckle, too.

"I guess I’d have said the same." she stated.

No one aside from those among Hunters knew that Ophelia would be their next member. It was a decision made a long time ago.

Only when Olivia recognized Ophelia’s strength and confirmed her control over her blood, then she would have met the requirements to join their ranks.

"Anyways, how long do you exactly plan to stay here?" Ophelia wondered.

"I will return to Fuera the day after tomorrow. But I don’t know about the other two." Olivia answered, referring to Elsa and Sara.

"I see..."

Ophelia appeared tired as she had to think up how to involve those two in their lessons.

"I suppose aside from combat lessons there’s no real use for them as teachers..." Ophelia muttered defeatedly, remembering what kind of personalities those two had.

"Cheer up, haha! If you want to, your big sister here can help you out!" Olivia declared, pointing proudly with her thumb at her chest.

"..."

Olivia looked at her sister, whose sadistic and combat-loving nature was the worst among everyone.

"Please don’t do anything."

"Hey, what do you mean by that?!"

The two sisters chitchatted on their way to the dorms.
