The Assassin's Redemption: A Princess's Journey to Forgiveness
Chapter 161: Monster!
The femme fetale surveyed her new surroundings, mother nature taking this opportunity to worship her beauty. Her blonde hair danced in unison with the wind, her eyes looking into the depths of everyone’s souls like an open book, momentarily settling on Isadora. She swallowed hard trying to believe her eyes that she had countlessly blinked."Welcome Princess," the bossy knight said taking a step closer to where she stood. He took her hand in his before placing a soft kiss on her knuckles. She quivered under his touch surrendering her fingers to the little intimacy."It is a pleasur..." The knight swallowed the rest of his words before he raised his head to stare at her, his body instantly splitting into two. "No one touches what is mine!" Followed a cold voice. Fear hung in the air as the knights involuntarily made way for him, bowing whenever he passed close by. Each step he took seemed calculated, elegance and pride emanating from his being. No one dared question him. Who even had the guts to do so?Yet another bombshell for Isadora! His voice, his style of walking and elegance and now his face was enough proof for her fears. Standing right in front of her was none other than crown prince Alexander! This dream, or whatever it was, was now growing sweeter than she could imagine."Forgive my manners Princess," he said adopting a softer tone. He was referring to his entry show of splitting the knight. The halves were taken away and the place cleaned hurriedly for the princess’s inconveniences. But she had seen far too much blood so this was just but a piece of cake.He took her hand into his and adorned himself the pleasure to kiss her knuckles, without the fear of being split."Welcome to my aboard Your Highness. I hope you’ll like your stay here." To that, she said nothing."These are your men?" He asked as if he didn’t know. But again, not a word came from her. Alexander clenched his fists damn hard that his knuckles turned white. Being ignored, by a woman he would marry soon at that, didn’t settle well with him. And as much as he wanted to vent his anger on someone, he couldn’t lay his finger on her, and neither could he bring himself to. That was part of the terms to end the war. He had risked too much already to do something stupid right now.His gaze shifted to the butler who instantly freezed on seeing the prince had directed his attention to him. Getting attention from a prince was usually a good thing, but from this monster, it signalled trouble. The butler had already swallowed thin air twice from a mere look.’Maybe torturing her men would make her talk. Great idea!’ He berated himself for having not thought about this before. Since when did he coerce the words out of a woman?"Hold him!" Panic struck the butler’s being as two knights approached and held him by his two hands like a specimen ready for examination by a scientist. A fist landed on his belly before he painted the ground scarlet with his blood. "I’ll hit him again if you don’t say something," Alexander said looking at the now worried princess. "I’ll be fine princess," the butler assured though he was far from fine already. Anger boiled within Alexander prompting him to land another blow on the butler’s face, instantly breaking his nose. "Please stop," she finally spit the words earning a smile from Alexander. He turned to face her in amusement. "I’ll do anything you want but please spare my men.""Seems like speaking is the hardest task the princess ever heard," he said to his men but no one laughed as he had expected. He ended up smiling wryly plus a final blow at the butler to make it up for the humiliation. The butler landed down on the ground, lifeless! The princess ran to the butler shaking the lifeless man, feelings of fear and anger already building in her chest. "You monster!" She yelled at him tears instantly breaking on her face. "You killed him!" She said as if Alexander didn’t know what he had done. But this was not the start he had expected, all thanks to the halved knight. Now she even hated him more! What he had thought would be a step closer to winning her heart turned to be a big leap away instead. Damn it! His clenched fists were itching to fetch another soul but he managed to control it for the time being."Show the princess to her room," he said now walking away before he could cause a ruckus."And what about them?" The knight tasked with the first task, probably the captain enquired. At that, the princess lifted her face."Let them be for now but tgeir movement and actions should be supervised," he said, though that was not what was in his mind. His blood thirsty self wanted their heads chopped and served in silver plates. Damn! This was the sole reason he wanted to marry her but everyone else misunderstood it for political purposes. The seer had told him that she was the only person who could tame his rampaging beast, but only if she was willing to. He could have forced her to do whatever needed to be done but the seer insisted both parties must do it willingly else it wouldn’t work. So the first step he took was to bring her close to himself. Though that was solved for now, convincing her now seemed to be the most difficult job for him, and he was just bad at it.’Monster!’ The first word that came out of her mouth. That only meant she loathed him if not despising. But she had every reason to. Who could smile to a person that had killed.. no, slaughtered her people mercilessly and then demanding her hand in marriage to prevent another such slaughtering? He had to admit convincing her to even smile at him would deserve a celebration.
