Chapter 229: For The Gods To Decide

Isadora was resting in her room when a knock sounded on the door. The two Crescian knights on guard announced it was Alexander. She was a bit reluctant to give the order but let him anyway.

"What was that?" Alexander asked after walking in the room. Isadora sat on the edge of her bed and poured herself a cup of wine.

"It’s wise to be cautious in an enemy’s territory," she said and took a sip. Alexander could only sigh. He knew the Arcadians and Crescians had never been friends, at least not until Roselyn sat on the throne.

He walked towards the table and poured himself some wine as well. He took a sip, his mouth savoring the taste. "They could have poisoned you if they wanted you dead," he said. "But worry not. I’ve taken care of the untrustworthy council members who made the order."

"How did you do it?" She asked, delighted by the news.

He moved across and sat on the other end of the bed. "I just walked in the council meeting and picked them up. A devious way I’d say, is what I used to identify the flock."

"I want them brought to justice," Isadora said.

"That they will, but under Roselyn’s command," he replied.

"It’s my kingdom that they attacked. I deserve a say in this," she pointed out.

"Don’t forget you’re in Arcadia my queen," Alexander warned.

"Yet you had the privilege to arrest them," she argued.

"Let’s leave that to Arcadia, shall we?" He got over the matter. Isadora had nothing to say so she ended up sipping her wine, and it made Alexander curious. It was unlike her to order wine, at least this much.

"You’re sure you are okay?" He asked just to confirm. Isadora simply nodded, avoiding his face.

Alexander moved from where he sat and sat by her side, lifting her chin so she would look at him. "You are not fine Isadora," he said, looking her in the eye.

"I said I’m fine," Isadora insisted slapping his hand off her chin. "I just want to be alone, that’s all." She added looking at the other side.

Alexander was taken aback by her words but he suspected he had something to do with it. Could it be because he had denied her the chance to give her opinion on the traitor council members? But she started acting different once they set foot in Arcadia.

He moved closer, letting his warm breath fan her skin but she ended up stiff. He took the cup of wine from her and placed it on the nightstand before pushing her on the bed that he now lay on top. In response, she just stared at him with no emotion on her face. She clearly didn’t want him tonight! Damn it! Alexander clenched his fists at the realization. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

"Are you afraid of me?" He asked, trailing his fingers on her face before brushing her hair off that it now spread on the bed evenly.

"No! I’m never afraid of you!" She answered without a blink.

He bent closer to her ear and whispered,"I want you tonight!" He drew to see her reaction but her face was as cold as ice, no reaction or emotion to his advances.

"I’m not in the mood," she said.

Alexander couldn’t point out what exactly had happened to her but he knew he was the cause of it. "Tell me," he said, trailing his breath on her neck. For how long would she pretend she was not aroused? "Am I the cause of your unhappiness, my queen?" He asked.

Isadora swallowed the lump in her throat. God knew how much self restraint it was taking her, yet he aroused her at any available opportunity. She had tried to act stoic but with him being on top of her and administering his little but sweet tortures, she was losing it.

"I said I’m fine," she said, her voice slightly shaky as she bit her lower lip to suppress a moan.

"But your voice states otherwise," Alexander said, planting a soft kiss on her weak spot. "Tell me my queen," he urged her.

Isadora tried to stay calm but the moment his kisses trailed southwards, she lost it all. He unstripped her dress and planted kisses on her chest before resting on her peaches. He squeezed them softly and the moans she had so much tried to stop filled the room. A smile curved on his lips pleased by his little torture before he trailed upwards and rested on her lips.

"Tell...me... Isadora," he urged kissing her in between. His free hand wound its way to her sweet spot and before he could remove her undergarments, she pushed him off.

"I hate you Alexander!" She said, slapping his chest hard. Alexander held her hands and pressed her crying self closely.

"I thought... I thought we could have a bright future together," she said, his heart hammering against her cheek.

"What do you mean?" Alexander asked.

"What do I mean?" She asked sitting up to look at him. "Back in the carriage, when I talked about having children, you weren’t pleased by the topic and you avoided it!" She nearly yelled at him.

It all dawned on Alexander now! So she thought he never wanted children with her? How ridiculous!

"You mean more than life to me Isadora. I always dream of marrying you by the shores of Valoria, your wedding gown white, as pure and sweet as you are. Taking you to bed every night and living in that castle with our children!"

"Children?" She scoffed. "You’re lying. You never wanted children, did you?"

"I’m not Isadora. I might not be the best father there is in the world but I’ll try to be one. I want to hold that bundle of joy in my hands. I can imagine the scene in my head, holding a little girl as she cries in my arms."

"Girl? I want a boy," Isadora complained which had Alexander smile.

"That is for the gods to decide," he said. And with a grin, he asked,"Shall I pick up from where I left, creating a child with you?"

He ran his tongue over his pearl white teeth at a shy Isadora.
