The Billionaire CEO Wants to Marry Me Every Day
Chapter 783: A Turning Point
In Dottie’s eyes, Summer Monroe is a miraculous elder sister who can do anything.
She saved everyone in the village, surely she can save Mom too.
But Dottie’s Dad and Dottie’s Mom don’t think so. While Summer can help them get back their wages, she can’t do much when it comes to illness.
Dottie’s parents are honest folks who don’t want to owe anything to others.
Dottie’s Mom, fearful that Summer might spend money on her treatment, hurriedly scolded Dottie, "Dottie! Don’t be rude!"
Dottie shrunk back but still held onto Summer’s leg, unwilling to let go.
At this moment, Damian Knight arrived.
He nodded slightly to Dottie’s parents as a greeting, then turned to Summer and said, "The herbs you wanted, they’ve found them. There’s an undeveloped mountain not far from the mine with plenty of medicinal plants, though the road was difficult to navigate, causing some delays."
Summer quickly took the bag that Damian handed over, and the herbs were indeed all prepared.
This was something she had instructed the guards to do after hearing from Rubin about Dottie’s Mom coughing up blood.
"It’s okay, they acted quickly. I was worried they wouldn’t find any around here, but it’s just in time."
Dottie’s Dad listened in confusion. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
"What herbs are these?"
Summer smiled slightly and said, "They are for treating Dottie’s Mom’s illness."
As she said this, she squatted down and spoke to the tearful Dottie, "Dottie, you helped me a lot, so let me help you and cure your Mom’s illness, okay?"
Dottie looked up happily and asked, "Really?"
"Of course."
Without Dottie, Rubin couldn’t have easily entered this village as a merchant.
"Yay!" Dottie jumped up in joy, ran towards Dottie’s Mom excitedly and said, "Mom, you won’t leave me now!"
Dottie’s Mom let out a dry laugh and said to Dottie, "Dottie, you go inside the room first, Mom has something to talk about with Miss Monroe."
Though Dottie didn’t understand, he was obedient and went inside without asking anything.
After Dottie left, Dottie’s Mom finally spoke, "Miss Monroe, thank you for your kindness, but my illness... I’m afraid it’s beyond saving."
"Don’t say that!" Dottie’s Dad reprimanded, "Aren’t you still fine?"
Dottie’s Mom shook her head, "Actually, when I first started coughing blood, I secretly went to the hospital. The hospital said it’s lung cancer, beyond saving."
Dottie’s Dad widened his eyes in shock, the color draining from his face bit by bit, then began to weep together with Dottie’s Mom.
The village is very isolated, especially when it comes to medicine; they fear cancer. They have no idea that many cancers can be cured with modern medical technology.
Summer watched the two crying, unable to interrupt, until their emotions slightly calmed before saying, "Dottie’s Dad, let me have a look at Dottie’s Mom. Maybe I can cure her."
"You?" Dottie’s Mom wiped her tears, shook her head and said, "Miss Monroe, let’s not bother. The hospital has already declared it’s lung cancer, let’s not go through the trouble. I’ve heard cancer treatment makes you lose all your hair, and for the days I have left, I want to leave beautifully."
Damian stepped forward and said, "You might not know, but Summer’s medical skills surpass many doctors in Crestfall’s big hospitals. If you let her have a look, there might be a chance for change."
Dottie’s Dad’s eyes lit up, deciding to take a chance.
"Wife, let Summer take a look. She’s from Crestfall, maybe she really can cure your illness?"
