She explained, "You’re in the deep mountains here, so the air quality should be great, and she doesn’t smoke, so she shouldn’t have gotten lung cancer. But you forgot, the mining process leads to environmental pollution. Also, if I’m not mistaken, Dottie’s Mom used to work at the mine when she was healthy, right? And many mine workers smoke, don’t they?"

Dottie’s Dad nodded, "Yes... My wife used to cook for the workers on site, and after meals, they gathered to smoke a cigarette and take a break."

"That’s it," Summer Monroe said, "Dottie’s Mom has been breathing second-hand smoke and dust from the mines for years, leading to lung cancer. Actually, Henry Stanton should have provided you with masks and regular medical check-ups for such projects, but those are something Henry wouldn’t bother to do."

"So that’s it, that’s it..."

As they were chatting, Dottie’s Mom woke up.

"Honey, how do you feel?" Dottie’s Dad hurried to her bedside to ask. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

Dottie’s Mom took a breath and felt that the tightness in her chest was much better.

She answered truthfully, and Dottie’s Dad immediately knelt down before Summer Monroe.

"Miss Monroe, Doctor Monroe, thank you, truly thank you!"

Summer Monroe couldn’t handle such a big gesture, and hastily asked Damian Knight to help him up.

She said, "At least five courses of treatment are needed, and it’s best for Dottie’s Mom to relocate. The pollution from the mines has spread here, she needs better air."

"I’ll move right away! Move deeper into the mountains."

Summer Monroe considered and said to Damian Knight, "Why don’t we let them come back to Crestfall with us? I’ll do acupuncture and prepare traditional medicine, then borrow Isaac Ross’s hospital for radiation therapy for Dottie’s Mom."

Damian Knight nodded, "Sure, it’s just a word."

"Then let’s do that!" Summer Monroe looked at the two and asked, "Why don’t you come with us to Crestfall?"

They were worried about troubling Summer Monroe and instinctively wanted to refuse, but after her repeated persuasion, they gratefully agreed.

Just then, both the traditional medicine and the chicken soup were ready.

The traditional medicine was bitter and had a special astringent taste, very difficult to swallow, and Dottie’s Mom vomited after just one sip, somewhat afraid of drinking that bowl of medicine.

Dottie’s Dad coaxed and persuaded her on the side, and finally, Dottie’s Mom drank all the medicine.

Summer Monroe waited quietly next to them, when Damian Knight was about to ask what she was waiting for, Dottie’s Mom suddenly coughed violently.

"Cough..." Dottie’s Mom forcefully coughed out a mouthful of blackened blood.

Summer Monroe let out a sigh of relief, "After several more treatments, when the blood you cough up is no longer black, the treatment would be nearly complete."

Just as she spoke, Damian Knight brought her the chicken soup.

The soup brewed from the old hen was thick and yellow, and Summer Monroe disliked greasy soup and water, waved her hand to refuse, "I’d rather not drink?"

Damian Knight glared at her with a stern face, "Drink."

Summer Monroe instantly empathized with Dottie’s Mom, pulled a long face and drank the chicken soup.

Damian Knight was satisfied and wiped the grease from her mouth corner with his finger pads, saying, "It’s about time; we should set off."

"Hmm." Summer Monroe turned her head and saw Dottie’s parents smiling at her, her face turned red instantly; she changed the topic, "Pack your luggage, and we’ll wait outside."

After saying this, she hurriedly walked out of the door.

Damian Knight chuckled softly and followed her.

Dottie’s parents quickly packed their luggage and got into the rear car.

The trunk of the car happened to have Henry Stanton in it.
