The Billionaire CEO Wants to Marry Me Every Day
Chapter 803: The Strange Man
She should have been more cautious.
The deputy team leader didn’t notice the expression on Summer Monroe’s face and bowed to her with utmost respect.
"No problem at all. You’ve been a great help to us. Take care!"
This respect was not only because Summer Monroe was a friend of Damian Knight but also due to her previous actions.
He truly admired this young lady.
Others also bowed in succession.
In The Vanguard, the technical department members were always the proudest, and apart from Damian Knight, they had never bowed to anyone else.
Summer Monroe didn’t notice this at all and walked out with a somewhat dazed expression.
"Master! No, Miss Monroe, please wait a moment!" Suddenly, someone called out to her from behind.
Summer Monroe paused and turned her head.
Seeing it was someone from the technical department, she turned back and asked, "Is there anything else?"
The other party bowed deeply to her and said loudly, "Please, please take me as your apprentice!"
"Hmm?" A trace of confusion appeared on Summer Monroe’s face.
The technical team leader straightened up and said, "Miss Monroe, I’m ranked 42nd on the international dark web hacker list. I’ve always thought that in Cathaysia, apart from Master Isaac, no one’s hacking skills surpassed mine. Now it seems I was rather short-sighted. I wonder if you could overlook past grievances and take me as your apprentice?"
Summer Monroe shook her head.
The other party scratched his head with regret, "I knew it, you wouldn’t accept me."
Summer Monroe shook her head again, "It’s not that I look down on you; it’s that I’m not worthy. That piece of code should have other cracking methods that could prevent the virus’s automatic learning function, but I didn’t think of that layer, nor could I achieve it. So, I’m not fit to be anyone’s mentor."
"Miss Monroe, but..."
"I’m leaving now."
She could roughly guess what the other party wanted to say, directly interrupted him, nodded slightly, and turned to leave.
Today’s events hit her a bit hard, and she needed some time to calm down.
Not far away, Assistant Shelton saw Summer Monroe coming out and quickly approached to ask, "Miss Monroe, how did it go?"
Summer Monroe shook her head, "The surveillance footage is gone."
Assistant Shelton, observing her expression, dared not ask further and only said, "Would you like me to take you back to the Knight Group headquarters or to Redleaf Manor? The president mentioned that once he finishes business matters, he will return to Redleaf Manor."
"Not going back for now." Summer Monroe paused, then said, "To Crestfall University."
"Yes." Assistant Shelton immediately responded, ran forward, and opened the car door for Summer Monroe.
...
Crestfall University was only a twenty-minute drive from The Vanguard. Assistant Shelton was a skilled driver, and soon the car was parked at the entrance of Crestfall University.
It was just after school hours, with sunset filling the sky.
Mio Osborne had extended his class slightly, so most other classes had already ended, but the preparatory class students were still in session.
After finishing the last review question, Mio Osborne glanced sideways and saw a man standing outside the classroom window.
The man’s attire was peculiar; despite the hot weather, he wore a baseball cap, which could be overlooked, but he also had a mask and sunglasses on, covering almost his entire face as if suffocating.
What was even stranger was that this man kept peering into the class, acting like a thief.
Mio Osborne slowly frowned.
He put down his teaching materials and said, "For homework, complete the two test papers I distributed. I will grade them by tomorrow morning, during your other classes, and will discuss them in the afternoon. Class dismissed."
After speaking, Mio Osborne picked up his teaching materials and walked outside, heading straight for the man peering through the window.
"Hello," Mio Osborne said, "May I ask who you’re looking for?"
The man was taken aback, only then noticing Mio Osborne had come out.
The man pressed down his baseball cap, thoroughly covering his face, and said, "I’m looking for Summer Monroe."
