The Billionaire's Revenge Wife
Chapter 26: Merely A Puppet
"Are you and Daemon really married or are you just acting to try to get our attention?" Vivian asked the moment the door clicked shut right behind them.
Arianna glanced around the room first. It was Vivian’s bedroom, the very same bedroom where she’d caught both her and Logan having sex on the bed sitting right next to her.
To think that was just two months ago.
Everything changed in such a short amount of time.
"Why would I waste my time doing all of that just to make you two jealous?" Arianna questioned back, tilting her head. "Hold on, why would you be jealous in the first place?"
Logan forced his saliva down his throat. He wasn’t jealous. He just couldn’t believe it. And he didn’t want to believe it even when the truth was right in front of him.
"So, you really sold your body just to be relevant again?" He questioned. "You’re using his money now because you don’t have any of your own anymore?"
Arianna blinked at him.
They still had no idea she was the youngest daughter of the Wesley family back in New York.
Arianna gave it a thought.
After snatching everything that she owned, her shares in the company, and even attempting to kill her but she returned, they’d expected her to crawl back, asking for what rightfully belonged to her, begging them.
Laughter escaped past her lips.
"You really can’t believe that I got remarried out of love?" Arianna questioned, cocking up one eyebrow. "For all we know, I might have been cheating on you the entire time with Daemon. You were just too occupied with stuffing your sick in Vivian that you didn’t notice anything—"
Arianna didn’t get to finish her words when Logan’s hand suddenly wrapped around her neck, clenching it hard.
"You listen to me," he said, his face hard with anger. "I don’t know how you managed to survive the attacker I sent to you a few days ago, but you made a very big mistake showing your face here. You made a mistake showing your face at my wedding without being scared of what I can do to you."
Saliva flew out of his face, staining her face.
His frustration was palpable as he tightened his arm around her neck. It was clear enough that he wanted to kill her right there and then while Vivian simply smirked.
"You just walked into the lion’s den thinking you can leave unscathed because you have Daemon Langford following you around like some lost puppy, which I still don’t know how you managed to do that." His eyes darkened as his hold tightened, cutting her air flow but she didn’t resist, didn’t fight back. Her arm was behind her, as she looked at him dead in the eyes with the smallest smirk she could form around her lips. "But you’re certainly not leaving here alive."
Arianna’s heart raced. Her vision blurred as she tried to make out Logan’s agitated face as he strangled her nearly to death.
Vivian suddenly gasped, holding him by the shoulder.
"What if Daemon starts looking for her? What if he finds out what we did to her and makes us suffer?" She asked, panic staining her voice.
Logan’s grip around her neck immediately seized, his eyes widening in realization.
"She’s only a bed warmer to him. There’s no way he would care about a slut like her," he spat.
Arianna’s heart hitched.
She didn’t say anything, didn’t bother to defend herself.
However, she couldn’t help but feel the prick of pain whenever Logan called her names as if he didn’t act as if he loved her just two months ago.
Two months later, he treated her like she was the greatest thing he despised, which made her wonder if he’d despised her since the first time they met.
However, how could he hide his hatred for her so well that she didn’t even notice? Unless, she was too dumb. She’d caught a few hints but discarded them.
Arianna had returned for revenge, and although she’d toughened her heart, she still couldn’t help but feel pain knowing the man she’d spent more than half a decade loving only despised her.
Tears threatened to pool in her eyes and before she could stop herself, they streamed down her face uncontrollably.
"Is this really it, Logan?" She asked, her voice cracking. "When did we get to this point?"
Logan merely cocked up an eyebrow at her, as if she was asking a stupid question.
"You told me that you loved me, countless times. For seven good years, Logan. For seven good years, you repeatedly told me that you loved me, so how did we get to this point where you want to kill me?" She asked, his vision turning more blurry now.
Logan’s grip completely released from her neck, his hands falling to his sides.
Vivian was standing right behind him, her eyes narrowed at Arianna.
"I did everything for you. I helped you achieve your dreams. I worked day and night, trying to perfect your business for you. I even went on my knees with some investors just so they could see the potential your business had." Arianna choked on her saliva. "You told me you planned to have a future with me. Is this the future?"
Logan’s lips thinned as he glared at her.
He was aware of all of her sacrifices, every blood, sweat, and tear she’d gone through just to make him the man he was today.
"But I never asked you to do any of that."
Arianna paled when she heard his words, her tears stopping automatically.
Logan took a step closer to her, towering over her.
"You did all of that out of your own accord." A slow dark smile stained his face. "I never asked you to do any of that," he repeated.
Arianna forced herself to swallow his words as her head lowered in disgrace.
"You were merely a puppet to me, someone who I didn’t even need to ask to do anything but would still do it. I had you in control for years and you didn’t even realize it, Arianna. So tell me, why would I love a woman who’s too slow and dumb minded like yourself?"
