Thea

------

- Hurry up, follow me, I’ll take you to a safe place. - Jen said a little louder than a whisper and waved her hand to Klaus to follow.

I could hear the fading hum of voices and felt the pressure on my shoulders under the onslaught of the strong hands of the werewolf man. Succumbing to this direction, I walked with my eyes closed, trying to stop the tears flowing endlessly. Like a veil, I couldn’t see anything even when I tried to open them for a second.

How long have we been walking? Time lost its power, covered everything with black darkness, taking me with it.

Jenin

-----------

- No, no, just don’t lose consciousness. - a man’s voice was heard behind me.

I turned around and saw my friend’s little body flowing down like a stream of water. But the man’s reaction was lightning fast and he immediately picked her up in his arms. His eyes looked at me defiantly, full of despair, mixed with anger. Why is he angry, I’m trying to help!

- She lost too much energy, so she lost consciousness. It must be the first time for her. - I explained, continuing to walk forward along the dark corridor, which was located deep underground.

All this time we were going down the stairs, which opened just behind the secret passage. More precisely, the passage was magical and only a magician or a witch could find it, who would know where to look. Here, at this depth, no vampire will be able to hear us, no matter how sharp his hearing is. That’s why I brought them here, realizing that I could be exposed and it threatens me with death.

I could not even imagine that the very innocent little girl with whom I became so close, who at first sight did not manifest herself magically, could turn out to be a witch. As if without realizing it, she plunged the entire palace into an ice trap in seconds. It was amazing and scary at the same time, because these ice drops caused incredible damage to the people who got under them. But it’s better for Thea not to know about it.

The only thing that remains unclear to me is how she was able to conjure without having a magic wand or other magical artifact with her? I definitely saw how her hands were glowing, how the tips of her fingers were covered with a thin layer of frost. It’s fantastically unbelievable. This is the first time I’ve seen this in my life.

- Who are you and why are you helping us? - The man asked sternly, not hiding his distrust of me, when we finally reached the underground room.

- I’m Thea’s friend. Therefore, it goes without saying that I will help her. - I blurted out quickly. – Moreover, I owe her an irreplaceable debt. No, not even that...

- What are you mumbling about? - The man’s elongating teeth grated.

I stepped back in horror, bumping into the table and dropping all my precious jars of potions from it. A werewolf! And how did I not notice right away? It looks like my skills are starting to fail me, and it’s all my fault for distancing myself from the coven.

- Don’t come near me. - I held out my hand with an outstretched magic wand aimed at the angry man. - If you dare to harm me, I will be forced to defend myself. And I don’t want that. I really just want to help.

- And how are you going to do that? – calmer now, but still incredulous, he asked.

- We talked with Thea the day before, but I didn’t think that this day would come so quickly. - I whispered. - I will help you leave the castle, but you must promise that you will go with her and protect her.

- You might not have said the obvious things.

I nodded and slightly backing away went to a small bookcase and pulled out an old, dilapidated book that I got from my grandmother.

Taking the chalk, I began to draw a magic circle on the floor, humming incantations to myself. Finally, when the circle was finished, I looked at the result of my work and nodded satisfactorily. Two people will fit.

- You’ve already realized that she’s not an ordinary person. This is the first time I’ve ever seen a witch who doesn’t use a magic wand, artifacts, or at least spells while conjuring. I will send you to my native village, where you must find my sister Adeline and explain to her everything that is happening. She will help you hide, and at the same time deal with Thea’s abilities. She’s in danger here. Despite the king’s affection for her, she extremely dislikes witches and as soon as he finds out about it, he will immediately kill her. - I rattled off.

But before sending them through the portal, I went to the unconscious body of a friend and abundantly smeared her icy palms with one of the ointments actually prepared. This is at least a little, but it will help tissue regeneration and disinfect the skin.

A fleeting glance at her and I smiled, not holding back tears. How beautiful she was, such a young, sweet and innocent girl, sensitive and kind. It took me several months to realize what a mistake I had made with her in the past.

- I’m so sorry. - I whispered, lightly stroking her cheek. – But I’ll fix it, I promise.

The werewolf stared at me intently, causing me a feeling of discomfort, but I could not deny that he cared very much about Thea. Just the fact that he took off his sweater to immediately cover her glowing hands from other people’s eyes said that he would not let the vampires take her away. I really hope that my premonitions do not let me down and he will take care of her.

The werewolf tightened his grip on Thea and entered the center of the circle.

- Here, take this. – I handed him a piece of paper on which I hastily scribbled a letter for a friend. – Give it to her later. Maybe in six months?

He frowned incredulously, but accepted the proffered paper.

- And tell her I love her very much. – wiping away the remnants of tears from the corners of my eyes, I smiled again, looking at my friend. - And now it’s time for you to go, they’ll find this place soon anyway. I didn’t cover my tracks, so it’s just a matter of time.

I pulled out a pendant with a small red amethyst hidden in the neckline and began to hum a spell, forcing the stone to glow and heat up, and with it open the portal. My strength was not enough to send two people at once, one of whom was a werewolf, but I understood that the probability that I would need my strength later was practically zero. Therefore, I made every effort, even when a thin trickle of blood flowed from my nose, I continued to keep in touch with the portal until both wanderers disappeared into the funnel formed under them.

Exhausted, I sat down on the floor, not having the slightest desire to run and hide. It’s already over for me. I made this decision consciously. I’ve done a lot of shameful and terrible things in my life, but apparently the time has come when I need to correct my mistakes.

- Tethys, you were so wrong... - I whispered to myself. - Yes, she can be dangerous, but only because she has not yet learned her powers. She can become the one who cleanses this world of blood-sucking evil.

The ringing roar of the stone walls shattering into pieces notified me of the appearance of guests. Long-awaited. Yes, I’ve been waiting for them since the moment I made the decision to save her.

- You’re late, Your Maje ... - tilting my head to the side, I said mockingly.
