The Boys: Ultimate Multiversal Lifeform
Chapter 140: Proud Homelander
Two-star world traversal required a thousand fantasy points. That meant Ivan’s current points were only enough for two trips.
One-star worlds that cost a hundred points each were a complete waste of time for him now.
He closed the panel and looked at the Compound V on the coffee table.
Ivan raised both hands. The glass vials filled with deep blue liquid floated into the air one by one.
"Shatter!" Ivan suddenly clenched his right fist.
Under his telekinetic control, the ten vials slammed together with a loud crash. A pool of liquid mixed with glass shards hovered in front of him.
Then Ivan leaned back on the sofa and slowly filtered out every piece of glass from the Compound V. His expression was dead serious. The process was slow and delicate, testing his fine control over telekinesis.
To make it easier, he extended several extremely thin tentacles to absorb the Compound V.
[Telekinetic Pull fusion in progress. Current progress: 31...32...39%...]
His body had been strengthened more than twice over compared to before, so he could handle more Compound V. Even though the drug’s effect was weakening on him, he could make up for it with sheer quantity.
Soon a thin layer of sweat appeared on Ivan’s forehead. Controlling telekinesis drained both his stamina and his mental energy.
Luckily, right as his telekinesis was about to run dry, all the Compound V floating in the air had been absorbed by his tentacles.
"Looks like I’ll need other ways to get Compound V from now on," Ivan muttered. With a wave of his hand, the glass shards scattered on the floor floated up and dumped themselves neatly into the trash can.
Through mastering this level of control, Ivan understood his body still hadn’t reached its limit.
So he walked over to the briefcase and absorbed the rest of the Compound V.
The fusion progress on the panel had now reached 72%.
Ivan figured by next week he could fully merge Telekinetic Pull. Only then would he use world traversal again.
...
Late at night, inside a wooden cabin.
Homelander saw Madeline again. He gazed at the woman with deep affection.
"What a good boy. It’s been so long. Did you miss me?" Madeline said.
Homelander didn’t bother answering. In the heated atmosphere, the two of them started kissing hard, like dry wood catching fire...
Two minutes later, the action was over. Homelander wore a satisfied expression.
"You know that bitch is getting chased by the media now. Everyone thinks she’s the face of The Seven, not me. If those idiots hadn’t held me back, that credit would never have gone to her." Homelander complained.
"How could she ever be the face of The Seven? Come on, only you are." Madeline sat beside him, agreeing and comforting him. "Don’t take it to heart."
"It’s hard not to take it to heart." Homelander rested his head on Madeline’s lap.
He kept bitching about how Starlight and the others were nothing but dead weight.
Madeline gently soothed him. But the next second, she let out a terrified sound as her voice suddenly changed from feminine to a rough male one. "Oh, my time’s up."
As soon as he spoke, he transformed back into the fat Doppelganger.
Homelander jumped in fright. "Change back! Now!"
Doppelganger didn’t dare disobey. He quickly activated his power and turned back into Madeline.
"Whew..." Seeing Double turn back into Madeline, Homelander let out a huge sigh of relief. He stared at the man in front of him and warned, "I’m telling you, if you ever change back without my permission again, I’ll rip your head off and use it as a fucking soccer ball!"
The next day.
Homelander walked into Vought Tower with a big smile on his face. The staff in the lobby were stunned. Lately Homelander’s expression had been terrifying. Everyone had been walking on eggshells, terrified of setting him off.
"Where’s Ryan?" Homelander asked a nearby employee.
"He should be in the training room. I just saw Mr. Greevs take him up there."
The employee answered nervously.
Homelander didn’t bother with him any further and headed straight for the training room.
At the same time, inside the training room, Ryan was staring blankly at the soda cans in front of him. "Mr. Greevs, I can’t do it. I can’t remember how it felt yesterday."
Ryan sounded anxious. This was the first time he had actually cared this much about training, and the result left him disappointed.
"Don’t rush. Try to remember exactly how it felt. Or picture the moment in your head," Ivan said patiently.
"How it felt? Anger?" Ryan tried to make himself angry, but his life had left him without strong emotional swings.
After all, Becca had protected him since he was little. He had everything handed to him. While some wishes went unmet, his isolated life meant he didn’t have intense desires. Unlike Homelander, Ryan had grown up under Becca’s careful care.
That meant he had never really experienced anything that made him truly furious.
Right then, Homelander pushed open the door. He flashed a bright, sunny smile and opened his arms wide toward Ryan. "I saw the video from yesterday. You did great, son. I knew you had it in you."
Ryan didn’t rush into his arms like Homelander hoped, but he didn’t seem to mind. He walked over and scooped the boy up.
"You know what the media is calling you now? Homeboy! I woke up this morning and saw people commenting under my tweets saying I raised a superhero as strong as me." Homelander said excitedly.
Ryan had even gotten him another two hundred thousand followers. It put him in an excellent mood.
"Come on, show me again, buddy."
Homelander set Ryan down and looked at him expectantly.
With no choice, Ryan went back to his spot and stared hard at the cans.
Time ticked by. The smile on Homelander’s face slowly faded. He turned to Ivan. "Did he take this long to build up yesterday too?"
Ivan shook his head, crushing Homelander’s hopes.
"So yesterday was just a fluke? He still can’t fire the lasers on command?" Homelander refused to accept it.
"From the current training results, yes."
"Fuck you!" Homelander’s face twisted like he had just swallowed a fly.
