The Broken Halo
Chapter 396: Intruder
"By the way, Akaza. Is that Initiate a new member of the Iron Fangs? I don’t think I’ve ever seen him before."
Akaza was extremely baffled by Simon’s words when he heard them.
A new member of the Iron Fangs?
When did they start recruiting new members?
Though he was confused as to why Simon was asking him such a question, he still looked at where Simon was pointing at.
And the moment he did, he first of all narrowed his eyes in confusion, then his expression changed.
"Who are you?" Akaza asked with an extremely cold tone.
The Iron Fangs were baffled, then they looked at where Simon pointed at.
However, because the location Simon pointed at was in the midst of the Iron Fangs, many were confused and had no other idea just who Simon and Akaza were referring to.
When Akaza saw how rowdy it was becoming and how this unknown demon was even looking and moving around in confusion, making an attempt to find who he and Simon were referring to... Akaza’s frown deepened.
He took a step forward and began approaching the Iron Fangs.
The members of the Iron Fangs moved to the sides and parted like the sea, making way for Akaza to pass in their midst. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
Akaza’s cold gaze was still on this intruder as he walked in the midst of the Iron Fangs, but his eyes suddenly flashed with a cold and sharp light when he saw that this stranger was now attempting to slither away through the midst of the Iron Fangs.
"Where do you think you’re going?" Akaza said coldly, then his pace became faster.
The intruder’s pace also became faster as he was no longer as subtle as before.
He was now pushing the members of the Iron Fangs that was in his path as he attempted to run away.
"Stop him!"
Akaza’s roar shook the Iron Fangs, and they finally saw the intruder.
They tried to stop him but it was too late.
With a sweep of his tail, the Iron Fangs who tried to stop him were swept away like ragdolls.
He didn’t waste a single second as he dashed for the exit.
"Damn it. Move!"
Akaza roared and pushed the Iron Fangs away as he ran after the intruder.
However, it was obvious that he would not make it because of the Iron Fangs.
’I can make it.’
The intruder’s gaze was filled with pure confidence and relief as the door was nearly at arm’s length.
His tail swung forward and was about to destroy the door, but a cold and indifferent voice suddenly drifted into his ears from behind him.
"And where do you think you’re going?"
Before he could react, a hand suddenly held the collar of his robe and pulled him back with so much ease.
The intruder’s eyes widened in sheer disbelief as he fell and rolled on the group.
However, he was not weak and he was not a novice in combat.
He quickly rolled a few times in an attempt to distance himself from the attacker, then he tried to stand up.
However, a foot suddenly stepped on his head and pressed it on the floor. It was then followed by a cold voice.
"Stay down if you don’t want to suffer."
The intruder however did not listen.
He swung his scorpion tail at Simon, and Simon could not help but release a sigh.
He calmly took a step back, dodging the stinger of the scorpion tail, then his right foot was coated with a dark emerald-orange demonic light, and he kicked the head of the intruder like a soccer ball.
Bam!
The intruder’s head snapped to the back, and his vision darkened for a split second before coming back to normal.
Though, everything was blurry in his sight.
His head fell on the ground, and Simon raised a brow when he saw that he was unconscious.
He shook his head, then he looked at two random members of the Iron Fangs.
"Get him up and tie him to a chair." He gestured at the unconscious intruder.
The two members of the Iron Fangs quickly obeyed. They picked up the unconscious demon and tied him up to a chair.
Simon snapped his fingers, signalling to another two members of the Iron Fangs.
"You..."
He pointed at one.
"... Fetch me a chair."
He pointed at another.
"And you, bring me a bucket of water to wake him up."
The two quickly did as they were told, and in less than two minutes, they brought a chair and a bucket of water.
Simon sat on the chair, then he snapped his fingers and pointed at the tied up intruder in front of him.
"Drench him."
One of them carried the bucket of water and immediately poured it on the intruder.
SPLASH!
The intruder and the floor instantly became soaked in water, and he woke up with a loud curse.
"Son of a bitch!!"
He instinctively tried to stand, but he failed woefully and nearly fell face flat to the ground.
If not for Simon who used his foot to stop the chair from falling forward, the intruder would be in a much more embarrassing state.
Simon looked at the Iron Fang that was standing behind the intruder, then he gestured with his head toward the intruder.
The Iron Fang blinked in confusion at first, then he looked at the intruder for a second before his eyes widened slightly in realization and understanding.
He nodded, then he pulled the chair of the intruder back, and to the surprise and disbelief of Simon, a crisp slap echoed in the room.
Pa!
"Know your place fool."
Simon blinked in confusion.
’But I only wanted you to balance his chair. Who told you to slap him?’
The Iron Fang looked at Simon with a tinge of expectation in his eyes. For some reason, Simon thought he was looking at a puppy that wanted to be praised for doing something.
He decided to ignore this subordinate of his. Instead his focus was on the stunned intruder.
"So, were you sent by the factions to spy on the Iron Fangs so that you’ll see how I cure those poisoned twelve fools?"
His words immediately shook the intruder.
