The Broken Halo
Chapter 417: Controlling The Sword
The audience watched with bated breath as Simon ran into the tornado of flaming swords.
What majority of the audience saw was Simon dashing into the flaming tornado without any preparation, but what the powerful demons and demons with very good eyesight saw was Simon protecting his head and neck with his arms.
They also noticed that the demonic energy around his body began to change.
The concentration of demonic energy in some parts of his body began to reduce, while the concentration of demonic energy in his vital areas began to increase.
Those who noticed this could not believe what they were seeing.
Was Simon planning on entering the tornado of flaming swords without any plan?
Was he depending on his control over his demonic energy and his mere arms to protect him?
Was he depending on luck?
Many of these demons had these questions in their minds, and if Simon was asked these questions, his answer would be yes to the last two questions but not the first question.
He was not running into the tornado of flaming swords without a plan.
No.
What some demons might not have noticed is that the speed of the tornado was not as fast as before and its power was not as intense as before because Blackblade was no longer in control.
Another thing that many would not have noticed is that the movement of the tornado of flaming swords was now constant.
Which means, there was no sudden increase or reduction in its speed, no sudden change in its direction.
Nothing at all.
Everything was constant.
Before dashing into the tornado, Simon had already memorized the movement pattern of the tornado, and he knew the right amount of speed to use.
Though it would hurt, and it would hurt a whole freaking lot.
But he would survive.
He would not do such a thing if he wasn’t sure that he’d survive.
As for fear?
Fearless made him to feel absolutely no fear at all.
Inside the tornado, the howling of the wind and the swords combined with the crackling sounds of the flames was all Simon could hear as he ran.
Rip!
Slash!
Cut!
Burn!
Whoosh!
He was cut, burned, and nearly thrown off his feet by the winds of the tornado, but he did not relent and he continued running.
The demonic energy around his burned feet acted like magnets that made sure that he wasn’t swept away by the wind.
He also wasn’t running at full speed, and his running was more or less like him jogging and pushing himself through the tornado.
At some point, his hair burnt off totally, making him to go bald.
He was completely naked, his back, stomach, and legs were riddled with cuts and burns, and even his ass was not spared.
Simon’s entire focus was on Blackblade, and despite the pain he was going through, he acted like a machine as he perserved and kept on moving without slowing down.
If not for the howling of the tornado, one would have heard the sound of his demon heart beating loudly, and because of this, his chaos flame and demon heart were being refined and was slowly but steadily increasing in size.
Demons thrived in battle and chaos, and Simon was thriving in this.
A few moments later and to the disbelief of the audience, Simon reached the edge of the eye of the storm, and with a grunt, he jumped inside, dodging a flaming sword that was about to cut him.
Blackblade’s master was gripping the armrests of his chair so tight that cracks began to form on it.
His eyes were blazing with fury.
The moment he entered the eye of the storm, everything became calm and peaceful, and Simon staggered but he refused to fall.
His condition was terrible.
He knew that.
He didn’t have to look at his body to know that if he did not receive medical care in the next thirty minutes or so, he would die.
’If I fall, I might not get back up again.’
He shook his head, removing the dizziness in his head, then he began to approach Blackblade.
However, after taking five steps, he could not help but cough out a mouthful of blood.
Cough!
Cough!
As the blood landed on the floor, it released smoke, showing how hot Simon’s body was.
However, Simon didn’t stop moving after coughing out the blood.
It took him a while, but eventually, he stood in front of Blackblade who was drenched in his blood, was trembling violently, and was mumbling incoherent nonsense as he held his head with wide, bulging eyes.
Simon saw this, and with an utterly indifferent expression and gaze, he sent another Mind Spear at Blackblade.
The Mind Spear penetrated his mental barrier and entered his sea of consciousness.
Previously, Simon’s deathly mental energy was about to dissipate, but the Mind Spear corrupted Blackblade’s sea of consciousness.
Blackblade’s head shot up and he screamed.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!"
Simon did this to make sure that Blackblade was not faking his condition so as to launch a counter attack, and now, he was satisfied.
’I didn’t make the Mind Spear as concentrated as the previous ones but it still seems to be doing a lot of damage to him... Interesting.’
Simon indifferently took a step closer to the screaming Blackblade, then he increased the length of his claws while coating it with demonic energy and was about to kill Blackblade, but his expression changed when he sensed danger behind him.
Without hesitation, he took a step to the side, dodging the Sovereign ranked sword that came flying toward him.
He narrowed his eyes as he looked at the sword which was coated with a completely different demonic energy than Blackblade’s.
This demonic energy was more powerful than Blackblade’s, and it emitted the aura of a Greater Demon.
His gaze sharpened, and he looked in the direction of Blackblade’s master.
He could clearly see the fury and hatred in the eyes of master, and Simon indifferently looked back at the sword which was hovering above Blackblade.
’So this is how it’s going to be?’
