Chapter 123: 11.5 Kyrios

After dropping Lea, A-Xuan left for his office. Even if Shuo flew once a month to check on the company and that he monitored everything with CF, it isn’t enough.

He’s a control freak, so he needs to check everything again. That’s the thing he’s always been like that, but he had to suppress it all those years he spent with his husband, or he would’ve gone insane.

Not knowing everything, all the in and out of a situation, kills him. It will be over soon. No matter what his end goal won’t change, but still, he’ll be able to preserve himself.

Bastian was in his office working, he looked at the late hour and stopped. He got up and then sat back down. He looked at his computer and frowned.

He left his office when his chauffeur came. After giving him the address, he looked at his cell phone worried. When he arrived in front of a building he got out of the car, and entered.

He was surprised to see that it wasn’t locked. He’s he trying to die? What kind of company leaves everything open like that? He couldn’t even see a security guard.

Bastian entered the elevator with tension. After he got out, he walked to the only lit-up office. He opened the door slightly and saw A-Xuan slumped against the sofa.

His skin was pale and he seemed sick. Bastian’s eyes turned dark, he entered the office and sat next to him. He touched his forehead and woke up A-Xuan.

A-Xuan looked at him, seemingly lost.

"Bastian?"

"You have a fever, come on, I’ll take you home."

A-Xuan got up and picked up his bag with his belonging. Bastian held on to him as they rode the elevator. When they came out of the building, he watched as A-Xuan tapped on his phone and the entire building went on lockdown.

He helped him in the car and gave the chauffeur the address. He looked at A-Xuan leaning on him with dark eyes the whole way.

When they arrived, A-Xuan unlocked the gate with his cell phone, and they pulled in front of the house. He helped A-Xuan inside, leading him to his bedroom.

Bastian couldn’t hear sounds inside the house, he asked with a hint of worry:

"Where’s Leia?"

A-Xuan answered with dizziness:

"She’s staying with her friend. Thank you for dropping me."

He walked to his walking closet, swaying.

Bastian looked at him worried. He ran into the closet when he heard a loud sound. He saw A-Xuan on the floor. He seemingly fell trying to take his clothing off.

Bastian helped him up and said:

"You should get some rest."

"I can’t sleep without taking a shower."

Bastian looked into his determined eyes and left. A-Xuan looked down, disappointed. Even now he persists. He took off his clothes with a lump in his throat.

He got into the shower but was surprised to see Bastian coming in after a few minutes. After helping him shower and dress, he got him into bed.

He sat him and gave him medicine. He helped him lay down and A-Xuan closed his eyes. Bastian stayed there for an hour looking at him.

His eyes turned dark as he caressed his cheek lightly.

"How can you be so careless?"

"Do you even care?"

Bastian looked at him with surprise and immediately turned his head. A-Xuan swore:

"If you leave you’ll never see me again, and we’ll see who will save you."

Bastian was still looking away. A-Xuan sat up and turned his face. Bastian looked down, not meeting his eyes.

"Look at me. Didn’t you hear me?"

Bastian looked up, meeting A-Xuan’s eyes. A-Xuan looked into eyes all black.

"So this is what I had to do to see you?"

Bastian didn’t answer. A-Xuan sneered:

"Should I be happy that you care enough to show up while I’m sick?"

Bastian was still silent. A-Xuan’s hold on his face tightened, and Bastian could see the impatience in his eyes.

"I’ve always cared about you."

"This is the worst thing you could have ever said to me."

A-Xuan let go of his face with rage.

"Tell me at least your name, so I can know who I’m angry at."

"Most people call me Kyrios."

"When you say most people, do you mean the ones who split your soul?"

Kyrios looked down, not saying anything. A-Xuan was officially out of patience, he pushed him onto the bed and got on top of him.

He grabbed his collar tightly, yelling:

"Do you know how long I’ve waited for answers? Speak now!"

Kyrios looked into his pain-filled eyes. He could see that he was close to tears.

He sat up holding A-Xuan in his arms, he wiped a tear when it fell.

"My brother is the one who split my soul. We’re gods, but we only create worlds and then let nature take its course. We’re not to interfere or get in contact with anything related to that world. But one day while checking the progression of one I created, I fell in love."

Kyrios swallowed with difficulty.

"I fell in love with you. After that, I couldn’t stop myself from watching you. I took an empty shell to see you from up close, but my brother found out. It’s in the rules not to set foot in the world we create, but no one would dare say a word to me since I’m the most powerful. But my brother has always been jealous, so he poisoned me and then split my soul, using that as an excuse to get rid of me. Since no other gods would dare break the rules, after that I was bound to be stuck for eternity. He said that I would live unfulfilled lives over and over again, while you die miserably. Even if my soul is split, there’s still a piece of my consciousness. After more than twenty thousand years, I finally had enough power to free you from the system he put you under. I knew that you would get power from every world my soul flakes were in, which would help you go back to your world. Once you do, he won’t be able to get to you. You’ll still have the CF system with you, and you’ll be safe."

A-Xuan’s tears kept falling, and Kyrios looked at him with heartache. He knows he’s responsible for all his misery, but he couldn’t face him.

He knows A-Xuan wanted him to show up and talk to him, or he would’ve never severed their bond.

The day he severed it he felt like his heart broke. But he had it coming, A-Xuan knew he had to force him out.

"I’m sorry, this is all my fault. But you just need to get a little more power, and you’ll be free."

A-Xuan looked at him, his eyes red, and slapped him. Kyrios didn’t say anything and looked down. He knows he deserves worse than that. A-Xuan yelled:

"You are so fucking selfish."

Kyrios couldn’t even look at A-Xuan.

"I know, this is why I’m trying to fix my mistake."

A-Xuan lifted his head, pinching his chin forcibly. He yelled:

"This isn’t what I’m talking about, and you know it, stop playing dumb."

Kyrios swallowed and murmured:

"I couldn’t face you after everything I put you through."

"Do you even care about what I went through?"

Over their life together, A-Xuan could see traces of Kyrios. Every time his husband’s eyes would turn dark, he knew he was there. Over the years his appearance lasted longer and longer while initially, it was just a glimmer.

He knows how he is and how he needs time to say how he feels, but he has given him more than enough time. There past life he knew he had enough strength to have a conversation with him, but he never did.

He saw him struggling, even if he was happy with Caitian he couldn’t take not knowing anymore. He gave him an entire lifetime to come forth, but he never did. So, he forced him out.
