The Celibate Tycoon Has Fallen
Chapter 86: Of All the People to Cross, You Had to Cross Her
Jasper Yale reached out and closed the laptop. đđđđđŹđđđˇđđżđđĄ.đđ¸đ
Nancy Aldenâs face showed a hint of embarrassment, but she quickly concealed it.
"Who is this person? Why do they want to harm me?"
Yelena Hughes hit the nail on the head, "Miss Alden, donât you think the words she typed are more important? Not many people know about your inconvenience with mobility. So, young master, you really should look into this thoroughly."
Jasper Yaleâs eyelids lowered slightly, shielding his cold eyes.
Yelena Hughes wanted to take the laptop back, but Jasperâs hand was still pressed on it.
"This matter impacts me greatly too. I will disclose all this evidence online because I canât take the blame for someone else." Once such a thing comes out, it means itâs impossible to survive in this field anymore.
Yelena Hughes also put her hand on the laptop, "If you find out who is behind this, please let me know. I really want to ask her what I did to offend her."
As she spoke, Yelena glanced at Nancy Alden who sat upright.
Jasper Yale released his hand, and she picked up the laptop and left.
Nancy Alden couldnât believe the outcome; she thought Yelena Hughes wouldnât be able to turn the situation around.
Josephine cautiously checked Jasper Yaleâs expression, "Young master, should the press conference... continue?"
"Continue?" Jasperâs tone was deep, "Continue to make us a laughingstock?"
"Jasper, who do you think wants to harm me?"
Jasper bent his upper body down, his presence intimidating, blocking half of Nancy Alden, "Nancy, you can stand up now? How come I didnât know?"
"I..." Nancy Alden was being stared at by him, his eyes lacking any pampering glow, almost to the point of glaring, "I can barely stand, but not for long. I originally wanted to surprise you."
"It is quite a surprise."
Hailey Jenkins pushed the door open, "Young master, everythingâs arranged with the journalists."
"Let them disperse."
Hailey Jenkins seemed surprised, "The interview... wonât continue?"
Jasper pushed the chair away and walked downstage, Nancy Alden watched his back and called out, "Jasper."
Donât leave her, "I canât handle these things alone; please come back."
Hailey Jenkins followed Jasper outside; the door was gently closed, and the man stopped after taking two steps with his long legs.
"Make arrangements to send her back. Donât let those reporters persistently block her."
"Understood."
Nancy Aldenâs voice was hoarse, but Jasper had already left.
Josephine felt quite distressed, "Miss, be careful with your voice."
"Josephine, what if Jasper decides to investigate? Will he trace it back to me?"
"Donât worry, he wonât trace it back to you."
But Josephine was worried that Jasper might not even bother investigating. Though young, his thoughts were always unpredictable.
Itâs possible that he has already seen through everything, who knows.
Yelena Hughes finished her work with a rush and had a quick dinner before heading to The Sovereign Club.
Southcross City is known for rainy days, and itâs especially frustrating when it rains in winter.
When Yelena entered The Sovereign Club, she was almost soaked through; the wind was strong today, and the umbrella couldnât hold.
"Yelena." Madeline Forest arrived earlier and spoke with some concern, "Chester was looking for you earlier, said Master Thorne is here, specifically asked for you."
"Which compartment is he in?"
"Itâs right next to the young masterâs."
Yelena misheard, "Jasper is here?"
"No, whatâs wrong with you? Why so jumpy?"
Yelena felt a strange sensation; she simply didnât want to run into Jasper here.
When Yelena brought a drink into the compartment, she saw Shawn Thorne sitting there alone, appearing somewhat emotional.
Not wanting to provoke him, she placed the drink on the table.
Shawn heard footsteps and turned to look where she stood, "Come here."
Yelenaâs slender legs swayed in his eyes as she quickly sat beside him.
"Pour me a drink."
She leaned over, poured the drink, and handed the glass to Shawn.
He did not move, his gaze towards her different than usual, somewhat complex, "Feed me."
At The Sovereign Club, such a request wasnât considered excessive.
Yelena brought the glass to Shawnâs lips, but he pushed her hand away.
"Havenât you been trained? Donât know about feeding âmouth to mouthâ?"
"Master Thorne, I donât do things like that."
Shawn glanced at her attire, "No wonder youâre raising funds so slowly, refusing to do this and that, I might have to charge interest."
Yelena frowned slightly, and Shawn leaned back.
With his long legs perched, he seemed to say casually, "Of all people to provoke, you chose Nancy Alden."
In Yelenaâs silent eyes, a trace of hesitation emerged, "What do you mean by that? Could it be that you favor Miss Alden, so you help her to deal with me?"
Displeasure flickered across Shawnâs face, as if sheâd exposed a fatal flaw.
"I like her?"
He seemed to feel a sense of shame, "Her dry string-bean figure, only Jasper would like it."
As Shawn said this, he looked Yelena up and down, "I prefer someone like you, full of substance."
Yelena met his gaze, "If not for affection, then itâs for gain? What has Miss Alden offered you to make Master Thorne willingly act as her pawn?"
This statement sounded quite unpleasant.
A pawn?
He, a dignified son of the Thorne Family, taking orders from Nancy Alden?
"Are you trying to extract information from me?"
"You just mentioned of all people to provoke, I chose Miss Alden..."
Shawn reached out to grasp Yelenaâs chin, "Iâll be honest with you, weâre in it together. She resents you; I want you, so itâs a perfect match."
He pinched her chin, shaking it twice, "How about you come with me, no need to repay the money, and that surname Zhao wonât bother you anymore."
Suddenly, the compartment door was opened, not even a knock.
Yelena turned at the sound, surprisingly seeing Hailey Jenkins standing there.
"Miss Hughes, the young master wants to see you."
Upon hearing this, Shawn reacted like a rooster ready for battle, his expression and gaze changing.
"Such matters should observe a first-come-first-served basis, right? I requested her tonight; if young master wants her, come tomorrow."
As Yelena listened, wasnât this discussing her like a commodity?
Hailey was equally fearless, "Miss Hughes, the young master is impatient, donât keep him waiting."
Shawn sneered, gripping his fingers tightly, causing Yelena pain, her jaw nearly dislocated.
"Do you dare to leave?" he asked the person beside him.
"Whether Miss Hughes dares or not is her concern, but the young master asked me to tell you something. If Mr. Thorne finds out what youâre doing here, he might be furious enough to skyrocket his blood pressure. Mr. Thorne is planning a major move, better not to drag his feet."
Yelenaâs chin was released.
Shawn, repressing his anger, glanced at her, "Arenât you leaving yet?"
She obediently got up and followed Hailey out, Jasperâs compartment was just next door, only a few steps away.
Yelena entered and saw Jasper half-reclined on the sofa, his gaze cold and critical, fixed intently on her.
