Chapter 36: Chapter 36 : Luminary Trial: Conflict

"Get back here! " Zeres shouted from his lungs, his claw extending before the back of the boar.

"Let’s end this" he swung his arms.

All of a sudden, the boar’s thick tails shot straight at Zeres, it made a sound before it slammed into his back.

"Fuck! " a groan escaped his lips as he rolled on the ground. His back hurts like hell!

"That cunning pig" standing up, his senses immediately located the location of the damned pig, it was laredy far away.

Zeres shifted, he kicked the ground hard as his wings flapped behind him.

"What am I even doing, struggling against a mere pig" he laughed at himself, before his whole body was embraced by a strong wind.

"Blood strike" he chanted, then he swung his arms—two massive blade-like strikes in crimson color appeared, it destroyed all the trees around it mercilessly—until it arrived before the boar.

The boar turned too late, it’s whole body severed cleanly into two. Blood spilled from it’s severed body as Zeres landed near the corpse.

He extended his hands, the blood trembled faintly, before it formed in a blob before Zeres’ index finger.

"Let’s see how it taste" he sent it straight at his mouth.

"Bland" a bitter smile appeared in face. "Does that mean human bloods are the only one that’s tasty?" He sat on a nearby boulder, his gaze fixed on the corpse of the massive pig monster.

"What’s the name of this monster? " he asked quietly.

Just then, he felt a tremble in his side. His head snapped downwards.

"Ohh right, I have this" he grabbed the flag hanging on his side. It’s color was green, and his points was there: 12 points.

"So green’s the lowest" he nodded quietly, his gaze still on the flag he’s holding.

Standing up, he stared at the sky, though it’s wasn’t there—only tall trees preventing sunlight to slip through.

"I’ll have to hunt more then before I meet with those two"

"She’s really fast! " the students stared in awe at one student running at a fast speed. Her long raven-black hair fluttered on her back.

"Didn’t she use wind enhancement the same time as us? " a woman with black hair in a bobbed cut asked while drinking water from a leather bottle.

"Don’t compare us to those monsters" one man replied, his hair dishelved as he sat on a nearby tall tree.

"Three hours and we barely made it on the center island" they sighed.

’I should be careful within the four days, I’ll need to be in my best shape if I want to know who’s stronger between me and Zeres’ Saelyz thought as she entered deep inside the forest.

The flag hung in her back like an achievement, her 36 points shine proudly.

Wiping the sweat that had formed on her forehead, she heard a voice beside her. "Excuse me, do you want to team up with us?"

A group had approached her, faces she doesn’t remember and levels that wouldn’t benefit her in any way.

Her eyes narrowed, "Can you say it again? " a quiet snort escaped through her mouth.

"Team up with us! We won’t be a burden I swear!" A tall man with a sword hanging on his side said cheerfully.

"Hey! We’re talking to the Zenith here! " his teammates scolded him, pulling him away from Saelyz.

"So what do you say—"

"I don’t need it" she declined, ’I need to secure first place’ she thought, passing through them as they made way for her themselves.

’A forsaken? ’ her eyes immediately sharpened after walking deep inside the forest.

Walking quietly, she arrived at a secluded area, the scent of rotten meat assaulted her nostrils. Trudging carefully, a small magic blue circle formed before her palms, it made a sizzling sound before she pointed it into her golden eyes.

A small magic circle made its place in her eyes, her gaze focused on a single spot. Two massive black figure walked awkwardly, black pus dripping down the ground.

"Disgusting" Saelyz sneered. The forsakens head looked like a horse with the tongue of a snake.

The forsakens made an inaudible sound, their limbs connecting awkwardly and a massive eye on their forehead, Unblinking.

’Just two ghoul-ranked forsakens? ’

The air around her shifted before she snapped her fingers. Two massive circles appeared down the ground, cold smoke emerged before the two forsakens froze completely.

Saelyz walked towards the frozen forsakens, her face twisted in disgust before she flicked it. The massive ice enveloping the two forsaken cracked before the forsakens turned into dusts.

’Still not enough, I need to be stronger’ she bit her lower lip as a certain memory surfaced inside of her head.

’I’ll definitely save you’ clenching her fists, her gaze drifted into a certain tall and wide tree. "Come out"

"Haha, are we that obvious? " the group who had invited her earlier showed themselves, but their malices weren’t hidden.

"Don’t take this to hear Zenith, after all we just need to do this and we’ll earn money" the tall man smirked while pulling his sword out.

"As I thought, that Feilres really plays dirty" Saelyz muttered coldly. That man, acting like the leader of class-A while secretly orchestrating his rival’s elimination.

"Hey you idiot! " a woman hit the back of the head of the tall man, then they exchanged nervous glances. No matter how confident they appeared—they’re still up against the strongest first year!

"Why are there too few monsters? " a woman with long white hair tied up into ponytail complained, her hands resting on a tree.

"I’m tired" Aeliz sighed, sitting on a fallen tree, she stared at the marks of battle etched on the trees.

"This trial looks interesting, I don’t know who’ll come out on top." She smiled, whistling across the silent forest, she stood up—then head deeper into the woods.

’Will he still need it? ’ she thought, her hands touching her slender neck. She had been avoiding him since then, she was ashamed of how she acted that night.

She shook her head, then she stopped walking, her head snapping behind her. "Already here to eliminate me? "
