The Destiny Villainess Wants Me To Work!
Chapter 248: Crystalline Waterfall!
Thus, neither of them said anything.
Yang Qingxi simply nodded lightly, acknowledging their misunderstanding.
"Knowing something and experiencing it yourself are completely different things."
Song Meilin thought about it before agreeing.
"That is true."
However, a trace of doubt still remained in her eyes.
The explanation was reasonable. Yet something felt slightly off.
Unfortunately, she couldn’t pinpoint exactly what it was.
In the end, she chose not to pursue the matter.
Everyone had their own secrets.
As long as they didn’t possess malicious intentions toward White Moon Sect, she wasn’t interested in digging deeper.
After all, White Moon Sect wasn’t hostile toward outside cultivators.
In fact, many wandering cultivators had joined the sect over the centuries.
Because of the constant threat posed by the Pishachas, White Moon Sect rarely rejected capable individuals.
The three continued forward while chatting casually.
The mountain path gradually became steeper.
The surrounding scenery also changed.
Towering cliffs rose around them while the snow became thinner. Occasionally, traces of ancient stone paths could be seen hidden beneath the ice.
Eventually, Song Meilin suddenly stopped.
A smile appeared on her face.
"We’re almost at the Outer Gate."
Su Mo and Yang Qingxi followed her gaze.
Ahead of them was a cliff.
An enormous one.
The drop stretched hundreds of meters downwards.
Su Mo glanced over the edge and immediately saw a narrow valley below.
Then Song Meilin turned around and smiled mysteriously.
"Let’s take a shortcut."
Before either of them could react, she jumped without hesitation.
Her figure dropped from the cliff like a falling leaf.
Then she landed gracefully on a protruding rock halfway down before jumping again.
Another rock.
Then another.
Her movements were smooth and practised.
It was obvious she had travelled this route countless times.
Within moments, she had already descended most of the way down the cliff.
A few seconds later, she landed safely at the bottom.
Song Meilin looked upward.
A slight smile appeared on her face.
She circulated spiritual energy and amplified her voice.
"Can you two get down?"
"If not, I can show you the longer and safer route."
Su Mo looked down at her.
Then he looked toward Yang Qingxi.
"Is she provoking us?"
Yang Qingxi thought for a moment.
"I think she’s trying to recover some of the lost face as a senior."
Su Mo couldn’t help laughing. That actually sounded quite plausible.
After all, she had been rescued by two juniors earlier.
Now that the danger was gone, it wasn’t strange for her to subconsciously want to demonstrate some of her own abilities.
"Whatever." Su Mo shrugged. "Let’s go down."
"There is no need to expose her little scheme."
The next moment, he stepped off the cliff.
Song Meilin immediately watched attentively.
She was genuinely curious.
Earlier, Su Mo’s strength had shocked her greatly.
Naturally, she wanted to see more.
However, what happened next still exceeded her expectations.
Su Mo didn’t jump between rocks.
Nor did he descend normally.
Instead, he simply fell straight downward.
The wind howled around him.
Then, several dozen meters above the ground, his speed suddenly decreased.
His descent became slower and slower.
By the final few meters, he was practically floating.
Eventually, he landed gently on the ground.
Song Meilin’s eyes widened slightly.
’Some kind of levitation technique?’
’Interesting.’
’As expected of a Golden Core genius.’
Then she looked upward again.
Compared to Su Mo, she was even more curious about Yang Qingxi.
The young woman stepped toward the cliff’s edge.
Then...
She simply started walking downward.
Song Meilin froze.
Yang Qingxi’s feet landed directly against the vertical cliff wall.
Yet gravity seemed completely ineffective.
She walked down the cliff as casually as someone walking down a staircase.
Her posture remained elegant and natural throughout.
"What technique is that...?"
Song Meilin muttered unconsciously.
The admiration in her eyes became genuine.
Wall-walking techniques weren’t unheard of. However, ones performed with such ease were extremely rare.
Then, before Song Meilin could finish her thoughts, Yang Qingxi suddenly accelerated.
Her figure blurred.
A moment later, she appeared directly at the bottom of the cliff.
Song Meilin stared blankly.
Another powerful movement technique.
One after another.
Once again, she refreshed her understanding of why Yang Qingyun had sounded so confident. These two weren’t merely talented.
They were monsters.
Meanwhile, Su Mo quietly watched the changing expressions on Song Meilin’s face.
For some reason, he found it amusing.
Song Meilin quickly regained her composure.
As a senior, she couldn’t continue looking shocked every few minutes.
She coughed lightly and restored her dignified expression.
"Follow me."
Then she turned around and began leading them toward White Moon Sect’s outer gate.
Soon, the three arrived before a sight that could only be described as a miracle of nature.
Towering cliffs stretched toward the sky, their surfaces covered by enormous crystalline waterfalls frozen in time.
Layers upon layers of translucent blue ice cascaded down the mountain face like flowing water that had been suddenly captured by eternity itself. Sunlight reflected through the countless crystal-like formations, creating dazzling rays of blue and silver that illuminated the entire valley.
At the centre of the frozen waterfall was a dark passage leading deeper into the mountain.
The entrance looked as though the mountain itself had opened a gateway into another world.
Song Meilin crossed her arms and smiled proudly.
"This is the Outer Gate I told you about."
Her tone carried the unmistakable satisfaction of someone showing off their hometown.
"Beautiful, isn’t it?"
Yang Qingxi nodded.
Even her usually calm crimson eyes showed visible amazement.
The White Moon Sect aside, this scenery alone was worth the journey.
The frozen waterfall wasn’t merely beautiful. It possessed a mysterious and ethereal charm that made people instinctively stop and admire it.
Unfortunately, the atmosphere lasted only a few seconds.
Click.
Click.
Click.
The repeated sound of a camera shutter suddenly echoed nearby.
Song Meilin and Yang Qingxi simultaneously turned their heads.
Then both became speechless.
Not far away, Su Mo had somehow already taken out his phone.
