The dragon's harem
Chapter 1991: All According To Plan
Claug, being the titanic monster that she is, carried the monstrous spider in one claw, and the kids in the other claw, and flew them to the castle. Due to her massive size, the trip only took a few seconds for her, and through all of that, the spider remained obedient and didn't move an inch.
Seeing the size and power of an ancient drakaina, Therisa had to ask her before they were dropped at Merlin's lab. "How, strong are you?"
Claug looked at her, "You are that vampire girl. To answer your question, I am quite powerful." Claug stared down at her with glowing golden eyes. "But I am also defective. Unlike my ancient peers, I cannot use magic that well, and I'm blessed with a larger, stronger body. If the four of you were to band together in a direct assault, you won't even prove a challenge to me."
Her eye then shifted toward Yuwaku, "Yes, you won't defeat me even if you fully unleash your beauty. I have killed many nymphs in my centuries of life, and I never needed to destroy their origin to kill them."
Yuwaku looked back at her with a smile. "I don't doubt that. We don't have a single way of taking you down."
Ignis added with a smile. "I'm just a wyrmling, what business do I have fighting an ancient drakaina? We probably won't stand a chance against a motivated young adult dragon."
Agnar looked at them. "Depends on whether they can handle Yuwaku's beauty or not. If they can't, we win. If they can, we're going to have a hard time dealing with raw violence and power."
"Dragons are persistent and spiteful creatures. If that young dragon had faced a nymph before, odds are they have already prepared tens of methods to deal with beauty." Claug smiled, and her massive pale fangs reflected the moonlight. "For me, I'll just fight you with my eyes closed."
"Let's arrange a fight later on." Agnar looked at her with a smile. "I'd love to see if we can handle something far stronger than us."
Hearing him, Ignis cried. "What? No! I'm telling you that we have no business fighting an ancient drakaina. Agnar, do you understand the difference in power between us? She is so massive, and yet, she was in the forest, and none of us could even detect her."
Claug laughed, "Well, Ignis is right. Her survival instincts are still strong. Usually, if we crossed paths, she would hide in some hole and silently wait for me to pass by. Wyrmlings rarely dare challenge older dragons."
She then giggled. "Except for one stupid dragon. Arad, when he was a wyrmling, started a fight with the armies of chromatic and metallic dragons combined. He woke up and chose violence." She could clearly remember the day she saved Arad from the depths of the criminal city of Rita, and him waking up to the dragon armies.
Soon, she dropped them at the castle and took the spider deep into Arad's stomach. Agnar and his party made their way to Merlin's lab to get checked for spiders, and the actual spider itself ended up in the same prison meteor Poppy was in.
Claug didn't linger in the prison and quickly left without saying a word. She was heading back to Arad to report back to him, and when she arrived, she saw two maids standing guard at his room's door. She had wanted to ask them for a while, so she just asked.
"What are you even guarding? You know that if something can threaten Arad, it isn't something you can handle." As she approached, the two maids stared at her and then looked at each other.
"We might not be able to fight… but we've got Arad's word behind us." One of the maids stared at her, "If Arad told me not to let anyone in. Would you barge in and walk past me?"
Claug smiled as she stood right in front of the maid, towering over her like a titan. Claug was over three meters tall, and the maid barely reached 1.7 meters. The maid was sweating as Claug glared at her, and the smile on Claug's face didn't help, only making her look far scarier than she is.
"Don't be scared." Claug then laughed. "Standing face to face against me without backing down is a feat worthy of praise. I'm not boasting, but even dragons usually cower in fear and take a few steps back if I confronted them." She patted the maid on the shoulder as she walked into the room to report back to Arad, and when the door closed, the maid dropped onto her knees, shaking with a pale face.
"That was scary…" She gasped for air and then looked at the other maid with a smile. "But, what do you think?"
"I think it worked. She seemed to see you a bit better now. She might cause some problems with Melina, but Claug might be the easier of the wives to increase our reputation with." She then smiled, "Hold the post for me for a bit. I'll go and report this to the other maids. The way to get a bit on Claug's good side is standing our ground against her, of course, in reasonable situations."
Inside the room, Claug walked in and took a look at Arad, who was still in bed with his wives asleep around him. "So, how did it go?" He asked, and Claug smiled. "I'm sure you know. Everything went fine. The poor little spider was too afraid to move when I showed myself."
She started taking her dress off with a giggle. "But I have to say." Dropping the dress to the ground, she crawled onto the bed with a single, swift, and graceful motion. She looked like a cat, slowly approaching a mouse.
"You're one scary dragon, aren't you?" She opened her mouth, extended her long tongue out, and licked him from the toes up to his thighs as she crawled on him. "You scared Poppy to the bone, brought her mind near its breaking point, and now… you're showing her kindness, sparing her killer pet."
She didn't touch his flesh and instead crawled up onto his chest with a smile on her face. "You might not show it, but you're trying to slowly manipulate it into trusting us. That nice prison was also a part of it, wasn't it?"
"I didn't intend to scare her. When she was inside my mouth in Cain's fight, she probably realized that I'm not someone she could go against. That wasn't intentional." He let Claug crawl up onto his chest, "But, since she was already primed, I'd better make the best use of her. I need her to see me as a scary, powerful, and ruthless creature, but at the same time, a reasonable, understanding, and merciful one."
Claug giggled, "With her power, it would be a waste to let her die." She licked his neck, wrapping her thighs around his flesh. "Who will be responsible for her? Surely it isn't you, otherwise, she would've been here in this room with us."
"Even if that was the case, I won't bring her here, I'm not that easy." Arad sighed, "I intend to put Sena and you as her masters. Sena because she is a Zoemancer, a master of life force, and you because you understand diseases better than anyone else."
Claug looked at his face for a second. "Sena, Fernanda, Doma, Me… you're trying to research the nature of life. Creating a body for Doma isn't the only reason, is it?"
"I'm looking for a way to enchant humanoids, make them naturally stronger, and increase their lifespan." He looked at the maids standing at the walls, "Something natural, unlike vampirism or divinity."
