The dragon's harem
Chapter 1997: The Kicking Arts
Li froze in her place under Mathilde’s gaze. Being under the watch of an Archon felt strange, heavy, and quite scary. Even though the wood elves rarely worshipped Sylph directly, they knew her power well, and with Mathilde being one of her Archons, the wood elves couldn’t afford to offend her no matter what.
Arad stood, "Got it, then I’ll check this." He took a single step to the side, and his body split in half in a swarm of dark void. For a moment there, it looked like his entire body had turned into a black statue from which the second body emerged.
Just seeing that, several of the wood elves’ guards in the back pissed themselves. Arad, with all of his harrowing power, could easily multiply like that. Dendron looked at them for a second and laughed. "Well, that’s a fair reaction. I fought him before, and just when I was starting to do well against him, he multiplied into four and ganged on me."
Mathilde nodded. "That’s one of his strengths. He always got a number’s advantage." She then threw a glance at Noel, who was already pale. "Don’t worry, one body is to watch me train Li, and the other is to face you. You won’t be fighting them both."
"It is just a simple match." Arad replied, but then shifted his gaze toward Noel, "For Li, but you have the blood of dragons. I doubt you’ll be satisfied with a simple sparring match."
"No, can’t we just fight after watching Li’s sparring match with Mathilde?" Noel asked, and Arad scratched the back of his head. "I’m using two incarnations because I don’t have much time. But fine, I should be fine." He made one of his incarnations disappear, and threw a glance at Mathilde.
"Let’s go, a regular training ground should be fine for you two. Merlin got plenty of those." As he looked at the ceiling, the lights flickered, and in the blink of an eye, they were all inside a vast forest of great trees but little vegetation.
"I tried to mimic the wood elves’ forest as much as I could. This should make it easier for Li to manage and show her best." Merlin’s void rang, and in the next second, everyone else besides Li and Mathilde was teleported up to watch the fight.
The fight didn’t even start, and the wood elves couldn’t believe the level of magic they were seeing. Merlin had just created a small domain, filled it with life, and teleported a few dozen of people all at once and with ease.
"We’ve heard of Merlin’s magic, but to see it directly, it is something else." Noel threw a glance at Cerilla, "And you told us that she isn’t the only wizard of this level here."
"Yeah, we also got Alice Dagon and Betty the Flash." She then pointed down, "Let’s watch the fight, Li is about to show off a bit."
Down at the forest floor, Li bowed to Mathilde. "It is an honor to face you."
"Don’t mind it, just show me what you can do. I’ll let you know this, the fact you were allowed into the quarter means you are already accepted, so this isn’t a test of your skill." She then looked up, "What you’re doing is showing off your skill and worth so the other wives and servants would respect you."
"I understand." Li took a step back, looked down at herself, and then frowned. "I knew this dress won’t work. I should’ve come in my fighting clothes." She then smiled, "Looking at your fit... stripping a bit shouldn’t be a problem, right?"
Mathilde’s one-piece white robe barely covered anything, calling her half-naked would be generous with such skimpy clothes, and so her reply was expected. "Yeah, Arad is here, and every woman here belongs to him, including me. We’ll be taking baths with each other, so you can walk naked in the quarter if you want."
Li bent down, took her shoes off, and then grabbed the bottom of her dress. Then, with a single pull upward, she ripped it apart. What Mathilde and everyone else saw was astounding: the definition of her muscles, the long and sharp legs, the large butt, and the undeveloped upper torso. She looked more similar to Lunara’s moon hares than elves or humans.
"Why would you even wear a bra with such a flat chest?" Mathilde asked, and Li looked at herself with a disappointed face. "Come on, they are small, but not non-existent."
Mathilde shook her head. "You got a problem when Arad has a bigger chest than you."
Li almost snapped, ^Bitch! His chest is bigger than yours!^ is what she wanted to scream, but then coughed, "He is far bigger than me, taller. I won’t call myself flat, as that is objectively wrong. My breasts might be just half an inch in height, but they still exist. I’m still growing."
Mathilde stared at her with a smug face. "Nah, you’re 240 years old, that’s 24 years old in human age. You’re long past your growing phase, and if those things got bigger, you’ll be getting fatter."
Li slowly lifted her left foot up, and just that simple move made everyone freeze in place, including Arad himself. It was such a basic action, but the way the muscles in her leg flexed, how her toes curled, and how her body kept its balance, it was utter perfection.
"She is a master." Cerilla mumbled, "Even such a simple move, it is clear that she had repeated it thousands and thousands of times; she is a true master of her art."
Then, Li’s right toes dug into the dirt, and her entire body spun, throwing a spinning kick at a nearby tree. The trunk was almost a meter wide, but she slashed it clean as if cut by a really sharp blade.
Mathilde smiled, "Great speed, strength, and precision." She started clapping, but Li wasn’t done.
The tree creaked and started falling toward her. That tree was over thirty meters tall, thick, and probably weighed several tons. It could kill even strong monsters if it fell on them, but Li was built differently.
As the tree was about to fall on her head, she lifted her left foot up until her knee touched her face, and caught the falling tree.
Li had one foot on the ground, one leg pointed toward the sky in what looked like a painful split, which she used to carry and precisely balance the heavy tree.
"I see. Even if you don’t have the strength to lift that tree, by taking that stance, you can stack your own bones so they can endure the weight." Mathilde kicked a tree as well and perfectly replicated what Li did.
"But this is just martial art, what many monks train. You might be on a whole other level, but still nothing alien. Do you have any broken tricks or techniques?" As Mathilde dropped the tree she carried above her head, Li did the same.
"I can walk on water, jump in the air, and hypnotize people by wiggling my toes." She jumped and then kicked the air with her foot to do a double jump. As she landed, she smiled. "I can also sense the vibrations in the ground, which allow me to even sense heartbeats and breathing rhythm."
"Nina can do that as well." Mathilde replied as she lifted her foot, "Can you do this?" She kicked a tree, and the back side of the trunk was what exploded.
"Of course," Li kicked another tree, and the back side exploded just as Mathilde had shown her.
"Arad! Did you see that? She is a master, probably nearing the higher realms of what mortals can master. At least in terms of techniques. All she lacks is raw power and speed." As she waved her hand, Arad glared down at them.
"I can see that, but something about her moves feels weird." He replied, "Li, would you mind showing off what you’re hiding?"
Li froze for a second. "I’m not hiding anything... I’m just..."
"I can tell, so you can’t hide it from me. After all, I fought that man." As he smiled, Li sighed.
"Fine." Then, she lifted one leg, and that leg turned flaccid.
"Wait! Core’s bloodline!?" Matilde gasped. Li’s bones were made of flexible compressed wood.
