Chapter 174: The calamity 6

‎Lucas appeared above the Astral Mystic island just in time for a for a ear bursting roar, along with an earth shaking shockwave to burst out from the water surrounding the island.

‎A river’s worth of water rose into the air along with the shockwaves, and Lucas acted instantly. A terrifying and overbearing yellow burst out from Lucas’s being and spread across a vast distance, nullifying the majority of the effects of the shockwaves, and shielding the Astral Mystic island itself, along with the over water city next to it, lest the shockwave flatten and drown them beneath the ocean’s waves.

‎The shockwave wasn’t mere shockwave, instead, it was the aura of the ancient horror sleeping beneath the waves of the Astral Mystic island. And at the moment, Lucas could feel his aura struggling against the horror’s aura.

‎"Chancellor!!"

‎A multitude of figures appeared in the air next to Lucas. They were a few familiar figures among them as all were instructors in the Astral Mystic Institute. Figures like Edmond, Lee, and the rest.

‎In response to their appearance, the old man barely turned. "All of you move away, don’t stand too close to me," Lucas reminded them.

‎It was a reminder that Lucas possessed the most destructive power among the Alpha rankers, apart from Amon Darkfell that was.

‎Even Sevas was slightly below Lucas in pure destructive abilities, but this also limited Lucas’s options when fighting alongside allies. Especially those of a lower rank than himself.

‎"But old man..." Edmond tried to protest, but was cut off by Lucas.

‎"You of all people know how useless anyone but an alpha rank would be in this fight." Lucas said these seemingly harsh words in a kind tone. "The only thing you can help me with is evacuating the people there." He gestured to the over water city. "That way I’ll be free to exert my strength without any worry."

‎"Yes, chancellor." The instructors nodded and quickly distanced themselves from Lucas.

‎Seeing them gone, Lucas sighed. He still wondered how the hell the Dark cult got to the ancient horror right under their noses. It was something they must have planned for years, that much he was sure of.

‎Lucas eyes focused back on the sea below him as the sky instantly darkened with storm clouds.

‎BOOOOM!

‎A thick lightning bolt fell from the sky electrocuting a vast amount of water, and causing the water to shoot upwards. But that did nothing to slow down the slowly emerging head of what looked like an eldritch kraken.

‎The moment it’s grotesque and massive head that was the size of an island emerged from the water, a massive yellow avatar that rivalled the kraken’s head in size took form behind Lucas.

‎In the hands of the avatar materialized a bow from the same yellow aura that manifested the avatar itself and an equally massive arrow took form on it.

‎The avatar drew back the arrow with taut against the string as the kraken opened it’s mouth for another roar and massive lightning bolts rained down on the yellow avatar from the sky.

‎The lightning bolts that struck the surrounding water made water made the water explode from the high voltage, and those that veered towards the Astral Mystic island bounced off the shimmering blue barrier shielding it, not without making cracks on the blue barrier though.

‎For a moment, the avatar almost faltered as the lightning bolts consistently fell on it, and making Lucas frown a little, but then the avatar successfully reached the roaring kraken.

‎BOOOOOOOOOOM!

‎It looked as if the arrow teleported and reappeared in front of the kraken before the air detonated, and a vacuum of shockwaves were generated as a testament to the sheer speed at which it moved, and the sheer power it carried.

‎BOOOOM!

‎The world went white, followed by an ear piercing explosion and a heaven shaking shockwave. Lucas had to use his own power to prevent the Astral Mystic island from getting swept away.

‎The durable shield shrouding the Astral Mystic Institute that could withstand multiple to near infinite attacks at point blank from Beta ranked powerhouses was cracked and literally broken in many places from the side effects of a single attack from Lucas.

‎But alas, this was a beast at the Alpha rank the chancellor was going against.

‎VRRROOROOOOOOOO!"

‎The beast rose up from the sea once more, entirely unharmed.

‎"Edmond, move the island away from here, I’m afraid it won’t be able to withstand what would follow." Lucas projected his voice across hundreds of kilometers where the instructors of the Astral Mystic Institute watched the battle with bathed breath.

‎The Astral Mystic island was a portable island that could move should that be required.

‎The over water city close to the Astral Mystic island had long been turned to dust, its remnants drowned underwater.

‎----------

‎Above the now devastated Nirvana city, Amon Darkfell stood observing the carnage under the bright moon illuminating the night sky.

‎"A pity...." The Darkfell emperor muttered, seeing the lack of life, before he turned his gaze towards the beast rampaging through the jungle. "...for you." He said looking at the honor.

‎The beast looked like an amalgamation of a lizard and a furless bear, only that it had grotesque eyes all over its body. It’s appearance wasn’t a surprise, after all, it was a product of the Ashen Deadland.

‎Amon indeed felt that it was a pity for the ancient horror. Without the Amon having to care about the lives of the people in the city, there would be nothing holding him back.

‎A sword appeared in Amon’s hand and the surroundings suddenly stilled. A dark purplish aura burst out from his body and peaked into the sky. In less than a moment, the sky fractured with dark purplish cracks under the pressure of that purplish aura.

‎If before, every life in Nirvana city was snuffed out and most buildings were collapsed to the ground, this time, the entire plain and the city and the surrounding forests were flattened to fine ground, safe for the areas behind the ancient horror.

‎"Its been a long time since I let loose, beast." A mad glint appeared in Amon’s otherwise calm eyes. "Do not disappoint me.

‎BOOOOM!

‎Amon stretched one hand towards the beast, and a wide beam of crackling purplish energy that disintegrated the very air particles in its path shot towards the beast at several mach speeds.

‎The sheer friction generated from it’s movement created a vacuum that burst outwards with startling momentum and tore apart the recently flattened ground, creating a ravine.

‎BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

‎An earth shattering shockwave tinted with the dark purplish aura burst outwards upon contact with the beast, followed by pure destruction.

‎The purplish cracks in the sky widened, and a massive crater graced the ground. The beast got pushed a few kilometers backwards into the Ashen Deadland.

‎This was the power of Amon Darkfell, the mad Emperor. The power of pure destruction. Amon had a physique toed to the concept of destruction.

‎For a moment, the area was silent as debris covered the beast, before a loud roar that scattered the debris revealed the state of the beast.

‎One of it’s limbs, specifically the one that looked like a lizard’s has the cracks that were kind of like the purplish cracks in the sky, oozing out a bit of black blood. Apart from that, the beast was relatively fine which made Amon frown.

‎The mad Emperor wasn’t expecting to take the beast out in one attack, far from it actually, against beasts in this tier that was impossible. However, he had at least expected it’s injuries to be way worse than this. He had especially imbued that attack with his will after all, the will of destruction.

‎However, before he could further contemplate the matter, the beast opened it’s mouth and under Amon’s scrutinizing gaze, gathered an absurd amount of energy insides it’s mouth before shooting the suspiciously purplish tinted energy at Amon.

‎BOOOOM!

‎The beam shot from the beast’s mouth at astonishing speeds, and while not as strong as Amon’s, was nearly as powerful. But alas, Amon disappeared from his spot and appeared at the side, making the beam miss him by mere inches.

‎The attack’s speed was beyond fast, for anyone below the Alpha rank, that attack would erase them before they could even react. But for a being who could cross the entire Vorde continent in a second or less, it was somewhat slow.

‎"I see." Amon muttered looking back at the beast. "So that’s how it is." He said raising his sword in a vertical motion. It had only been less than a minute since the fight started, Amon had already deduced how his attack only scratched it.
