The Evil God Summoned by the Saintess
Chapter 107 - 105: Gained a Hardcore Fan (Fifth Update)
Facing the fifth wave, Benovia was struggling, but still managed to kill all the enemies.
The cost was that her magic puppet was covered in all kinds of marks, she herself was struck by several spells, her spiritual power and magic power entirely drained, making even walking difficult.
She used her magic staff as a cane, leaning on it as she panted for a moment, before tremblingly gazing at the road ahead.
Judging by the distance and the interval between each wave, Benovia was horrified to find that there were at least ten more waves of powerful monsters.
And each wave had even more enemies than the last!
Even the confident Benovia started to lose heart by now.
"Oh gods, why is the Deep Divine Realm so terrifying?"
She was utterly lost.
"Can this really reach Tier Two?"
She just couldn’t laugh anymore.
Unaware that it was Rose who was playing tricks, Benovia only thought she was just unlucky enough to encounter a legendary, unbeatable trial.
In situations like this, brute force was utterly useless—if you were forced, you still couldn’t get through.
It’s like math—if you don’t know it, you just don’t know it.
But Benovia still harbored a sliver of hope in her heart.
So she gathered herself and pressed forward again.
Six shooting stars streaked across the sky, landing before her, as if to turn her into a shooting star as well, plunging her into the Endless Abyss.
"You’ve got to be kidding me..."
Benovia mustered her courage and gave her magic puppet the order to engage autonomously, while she rested for a bit by the side and downed the remaining potions like water, as if they were free.
"Damn it, these potions are useless."
Benovia smashed the bottle hard on the ground.
The effects of these potions were too heavily restricted, making them all but useless.
The only use in bringing them here was to recover bit by bit during battle—they couldn’t be used in emergencies.
Boom!
The magic puppet, unable to withstand so many enemies, was struck by an unavoidable blow as soon as it engaged, and was blasted back to land in front of Benovia.
Seeing this, she let out a low chuckle and muttered, "Oh God, I’ve let you down. I really am useless. I can’t even complete a Tier One ascension trial. Please, punish me..."
A warm golden light suddenly descended from the sky, enveloping Benovia and her magic puppet.
Benovia felt her magic return swiftly within her, completely violating the rules of the Divine Realm.
She froze for a moment, then looked up in shock, seeing a figure floating above in the sky.
She remembered—even the most powerful mage couldn’t fly in the Divine Realm.
But that figure just floated there, in midair.
Benovia immediately realized something.
Her emotions became extremely agitated.
"My Lord God!"
She cried out, trying her best to see through the golden light and discern the figure’s face.
She saw it!
The Lord God was as beautiful as the legends claimed.
She felt that the god’s appearance was somehow familiar, though she couldn’t recall from where.
She was certain that of all the gods depicted in the paintings kept by the Holy Court and the royal family, none matched the god before her.
Even that so-called Evil God Ross wasn’t like this.
There was only one god with no known face.
The mysterious god worshipped by the Hiro Association!
She didn’t even know His title or power, but now she was beyond excited. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
Feeling her magic power so full within her, she felt as though something was about to leave. She hurriedly shouted, "My Lord God, please, tell me your name!"
Rose smiled.
"I am Rose."
With that, he vanished, along with the deliberately conjured golden light.
However, Benovia’s max-lifeforce recovery and max-magic recovery status, granted by Rose, remained active.
Feeling her spiritual and magic power returning to their peak, her inner wounds healed, and seeing her magic puppet restored as well, Benovia was dumbfounded.
She was still in shock over Rose revealing his name at the end.
Luckily, Rose had paused all her boss enemies; were it not for that, she would have taken dozens of attacks just while being stunned.
Although she liked to rebel and pray to mysterious, unknown gods, connecting the unknown god with Rose was, presumably, too much for her to accept right away.
So after saying his name, Rose paused the bosses for her, waiting until she was ready to fight before resuming their actions, giving her time to process.
"If I never revealed my name, staying mysterious might make her worship me more in her heart—but it doesn’t help create a real connection."
Rose watched from the shadows, waiting for the other to react before releasing the hold on the bosses.
"Only like this—telling her my name directly, letting her see me as the god worshipped by the Hiro Association, giving her a concrete object for devotion, can I create a connection faster."
Benovia couldn’t just summon him out of the blue the way Hilia could, but now there was a faint connection. As long as she kept praying persistently, as before, sooner or later he could descend into her spiritual space and form a contract with her.
With these thoughts, Rose continued to secretly observe.
Below, after her initial stupor, Benovia gradually came back to herself.
"Rose...Evil...God?"
Evil God Ross—the name rang like thunder.
That sight just now, so filled with divinity, made it impossible for her to link Rose with the Rose described in the Holy Court’s records as absolutely evil.
Moreover, she could feel that the one who descended just now was precisely the mysterious god she’d been praying to nonstop and feeling a vague connection with.
"So... the Hiro Association’s faith is actually in Rose?"
Benovia gradually let it go.
But why would anyone hide the name of the god worshipped by their own believers?
Only this situation makes sense.
Is the Hiro Association a sect?
By the Holy Court’s standards, yes.
Any faction not worshipping the gods recognized by the Holy Court was a sect.
But to Benovia, the Hiro Association was not an evil sect. They operated hidden among common folk, bringing warmth to the poor, bringing them magic, and giving them hope to escape poverty.
That’s the only reason she’d ever gotten involved with the Hiro Association.
People in the Hiro Association always said that their deity was a great god, and under His rule, the Starfall Continent’s magical technology improved at a breathtaking pace—everyone had bread, everyone had beef.
She had just thought it was a lost age from ancient history.
But now, looking at it...
"It’s so much like the Evil God recorded by the Abyssal Religious Group... But the Hiro Association isn’t the Abyssal Group, and He... doesn’t seem like an evil god."
Benovia’s gaze gradually grew firm.
"He granted my wish—so He’s the best god for me. No matter the price, I’ll pay it!"
Benovia gradually let go, then became excited.
"From now on, I’ll be Lord Rose’s most loyal believer! I’ve gotten a reply from the god himself—can any other believer say that?!"
The girl looked up at the bosses, now released from their pause and charging toward her.
She could feel the surging magic power filling her body.
"Watch me, Dukes! This is the power of my bond with my Lord God!"
Rose, observing from the shadows, put his hand to his forehead.
This girl—something’s a little off with her.
Is she going to turn into a total fanatic now?
