The Evil God Summoned by the Saintess
Chapter 226 - 224: Emilia
Elina returned to Hilia’s side with a look of joy on her face.
"Hilia, I think we can start that money-making scheme now!"
Hilia gave a slight smile, "Let’s go back and wait for them."
The two quietly returned.
It was late at night, and shortly after returning to the tent, a voice came from outside, "Excuse me, is anyone there?"
Hilia opened the tent and stepped out, feigning ignorance, "Is there something you need?"
The person politely said, "Are you the two elf priests? I’m a mercenary from the Royal Mercenary Corps. Our group has several injured mercenaries and would like to ask you to treat their wounds."
"It’s quite late..."
"Don’t worry, the payment for the treatment won’t be lacking."
"Lead the way."
"..."
Soon, Hilia and Elina arrived again at the Royal Mercenary Corps’ camp.
But this time, they were not entering as mercenaries exploring the ruins for the first time, but as ’elf priests.’
It seemed that only Elina could dispel the curse of the ruins, so the leading mercenary was very respectful.
The two followed him into Pascal’s sister’s, Emilia’s, large tent, seeing the young woman half-sitting on a hard bed.
She held her chin with one hand, glanced at them as they entered, and sat up slightly.
The leading mercenary said, "This is our leader, Emilia."
Emilia said, "Hello, thank you for coming. May I know your names?"
"Elina."
"Hilia."
"Hilia?" Emilia was taken aback, carefully scrutinizing Hilia and noticing her disguised elven ears. She shook her head and laughed, "Miss Hilia has the same name as a friend of mine."
The friend you’re talking about is right in front of you... but why don’t I recognize you?
Hilia was puzzled but didn’t show it.
"That’s quite the coincidence."
Elina glanced over, and Hilia gave her an uncertain look.
Indicating she didn’t know Emilia, it was purely coincidental.
The world is large, apart from divine names unlikely to be duplicated, others having the same name is quite normal.
Elina didn’t know Emilia’s background and wouldn’t have imagined she was talking about the ’friendship’ between the Empire’s princess and the Holy Court Saintess. She naturally wouldn’t speculate that Hilia was her ’friend.’
After all, she knew Hilia hailed from towns around Southern Border City, not the Empire’s capital, Huijin City.
"Thanks in advance for your healing; let me know how I can assist."
Emilia lay back on the bed, and Elina stepped forward. The light of the elf blessing appeared, probing into Emilia’s body.
Hilia, next to her, pretended to extend her hand, the Mage’s Hand following Elina’s magic into Emilia’s body.
With the previous experience, Elina smoothly proceeded, and with Hilia’s Purification Skill aiding, plus Emilia’s condition not being severe, they cleared the curse in a third of the previous time.
Then Hilia used the Healing Skill to quickly heal most of Emilia’s wounds.
Blood returned to Emilia’s face.
Feeling no longer uncomfortable within, post-curse, she breathed a sigh of relief.
"The blessing of the elves is truly wondrous."
Before Hilia and Elina could speak, the tent flap suddenly opened, and Pascal entered from outside.
Seeing Elina and Hilia, he paused, surprised, "It’s you... No, it’s you two that actually make sense."
Emilia said unhappily, "Why did you come in without saying anything?"
Under his sister’s gaze, Pascal lowered his head but then raised it again, "Sis, I’m here to ask the two elf priests to treat the other... brothers."
Emilia nodded slightly, "Sure, let me ask them first."
She looked at Hilia and the two of them, "We have four more injured. We’d appreciate Miss Elina and Miss Hilia’s help in healing."
Hilia nodded, "No problem."
"Hilia?" Hearing Emilia’s words, Pascal paused, looking at Hilia and Elina, scrutinized carefully, shook his head, said nothing, and turned to leave.
Elina glanced at Hilia again, contemplative.
That’s odd.
It seems not only Emilia recognizes the name ’Hilia,’ but Pascal does too.
And Hilia disguised herself as an elf before coming here, her reasoning being that making people think they were both elves would be convenient.
But looking at their reactions to the name ’Hilia’...
Are you really not the friend Emilia mentioned?
Elina was extremely doubtful.
Hilia approached Elina, softly saying, "You know I’m an Array Master who can design city arrays. I’m famous, so it’s normal for many nobles to know me, but I don’t know them; that’s the truth."
Elina was silent for a moment, then suddenly laughed, "Hilia, you don’t need to specifically explain to me; I’m never curious about other people’s interpersonal dramas."
Hilia nodded.
She was just offering a simple explanation.
Who knows if after this exploration of the ruins they’d meet again.
However, since Elina was the first elf she met, Hilia definitely wouldn’t forget her.
They followed Pascal to another tent, seeing four mercenaries lying on the boards, groaning slightly.
The two began to work.
About an hour later, everyone’s injuries were stabilized.
Hilia said, "The curse has been dispelled, and the injuries are stabilized, but as they’re seriously injured, they’ll need multiple treatments to fully heal. You can handle the rest without us."
"Thank you both, regarding the treatment fee..."
"Reasonable, 10 gold coins."
"10 gold coins?" Pascal frowned, "10 gold coins is enough to buy a Heart of the Magic Puppet. Dispelling a curse shouldn’t cost that much, right, Miss Elina?"
Before Elina could speak, Hilia was already dissatisfied, "I say, you as the leader of a large mercenary group, how can you be so stingy? If you can’t produce 10 gold coins, don’t look for us for treatment in the future."
"I..."
"Enough, Pascal, speak less."
Emilia’s voice came through.
She opened the tent flap and entered, handing 10 gold coins to Hilia, apologizing, "I’m sorry, my brother’s mind is a little off, please forgive him."
"Emilia, you..."
"Shut up!"
The Tier Three aura erupted, pressuring Pascal with lineage and strength, forcing him to close his mouth.
Emilia looked at Hilia, "I apologize for the spectacle. Please follow me; there’s something else I’d like to ask you both."
Hilia and Elina exchanged a glance, instantly knowing what it was.
Now the question was, should they ask for 20 gold coins or 40 coins?
