The Farming Livestreamer: I Don't Want to Inherit Billions!
Chapter 449: The Scene Looks Familiar
"Wow, this is unbelievably beautiful!"
Chi Youyou exclaimed as she gazed at the landscape outside the window, like a painting.
As the car moved forward, the scenery expanded, with endless grasslands and an unending blue sky dotted with white clouds.
There weren’t any other cars on the road, just their vehicle alone.
After driving for another 10 minutes, the car stopped under a lone large tree, where a sign warned against unauthorized vehicles entering.
"Sorry, Miss, this is as far as my car can go."
The driver stopped the car. He had never been to this place, but having driven in the city for so many years, he’d heard about this manor nestled in the suburbs.
It was not a place someone like him could approach.
He glanced at the two Huaxia faces in the rearview mirror, his curiosity piqued throughout the journey, but he dared not ask questions. After all, he had heard that a prominent figure from Huaxia lived in this manor.
"Excuse me, do you know how long it will take to walk from here?"
"I’m sorry, Miss, it’s my first time here too."
"Thank you."
Chi Youyou didn’t trouble him further, she paid for the ride, grabbed the luggage, and got off with Chi Zaozao.
Their luggage was simple, each carrying a backpack and a small bamboo basket filled with things she brought from home—her mother’s favorite snacks.
Her intent was to appease her mother, just in case her mother got furious upon seeing her, because for the sake of authenticity, she hadn’t informed even her parents about her plans.
When her parents heard about the car accident, they almost rushed over, but thankfully, Song Shiyu managed to stop them.
If her parents found out she lied to them, her dad might let it slide, but her mom would definitely punish her!
"Youyou, how much longer do we have to walk?"
Chi Zaozao got tired after walking for a while. Unlike Chi Youyou, who enjoyed running through the hills, he preferred staying home, avoiding outdoor activities.
"I don’t know. The place is deserted, so maybe the driver could’ve driven in after all!"
Chi Youyou had thought there would be alarms or something once they walked in, but nothing happened.
They had walked quite a bit, yet they barely encountered anyone.
The two of them meandered slowly forward, suddenly recalling events from a few months ago.
"Zaozao, doesn’t this scene seem familiar to you?"
Chi Zaozao adjusted his small backpack, his little face marked by exhaustion, as he kicked stones to entertain himself.
"Familiar how?"
"Wasn’t it just like this when we went to find Song Shiyu?"
Back then, it was their first time entering a big city—excited, yet a bit resistant—still carrying the burden of an inexplicable fiancé on her shoulders.
Now, on their first trip abroad, that previous excitement had faded, replaced with calmness.
In just a few months, she felt like she had grown!
"But honestly, our grandfather’s family is ridiculously wealthy, this manor is enormous!"
Chi Youyou glanced around. Actually, it wasn’t unguarded; it was just coincidentally unstaffed due to an emergency, and the gatekeepers were called away to assist.
As Chi Youyou and her brother reached the large iron gate, they heard the roar of a wild beast inside.
"Wow, Zaozao! Are we in a loop? This scene is exactly the same as before!"
"What’s happening?"
"I’m not sure, apparently the young master brought in a lion from somewhere!"
"A beast tamer is trying to tame it, but there seems to be a problem, and they need our help."
Chi Youyou watched a few people run by in a hurry, she wanted to ask them to open the gate, but they didn’t hear her, quickly running out of sight.
Inside the manor, Cheng Shujin stood on the second-floor balcony, observing the lion standing proudly by the fountain, alongside the trembling beast tamer, his face turning dark.
"Didn’t you say this lion was his pet? So why is he so afraid of it?"
"Y-young master, I don’t know either..." 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
"Useless! Get it into the cage, now!"
When his father returned and saw the current scene, he would skin him alive!
Cheng Shujin felt numb from head to toe.
"But... but..."
"But what? Don’t you have a tranquilizer gun? Do I need to teach you how to do your job?"
"No, it’s not..."
"Watch out!"
The conversation was abruptly interrupted by a scream from the courtyard below, followed by a petite figure swiftly darting past.
Somewhat familiar, yet he couldn’t quite believe it...
"What’s wrong?"
A familiar voice came from behind him.
"Aunt... nothing... nothing’s wrong..."
Instinctively, Cheng Shujin shifted to block her view, but he couldn’t cover much of the balcony on his own.
Cheng Ruosheng curiously looked outside, and her gaze fell upon a familiar figure, compelling her to approach the balcony railing.
"Aunt, really it’s nothing... just a small issue, it’ll be resolved soon..."
"Youbao?"
Huh?
Cheng Shujin’s stammering was interrupted by Cheng Ruosheng’s gentle voice.
Youbao?
His mind buzzed. Could that actually be Chi Youyou?
Impossible!
He turned to stand next to Cheng Ruosheng, looking toward the fountain in the yard.
"Little girl, what are you doing?"
The butler spoke in English first, then switched to Chinese fearing she might not understand, realizing she was a Huaxia girl.
Somehow, Chi Youyou had made her way over to the lion, seemingly oblivious to the butler’s attempts to stop her. She glanced coldly at the trembling man nearby and snorted.
"Why are you looking at me like that?"
The foreign man, pretending to be calm, shouted at her.
Chi Youyou sneered, "Seems like you’ve beaten it often, huh?"
"What... what nonsense are you spouting?"
"You don’t know? It’s about to eat you!"
Chi Youyou’s voice was neither too loud nor too quiet, enough for everyone present to hear, and faintly audible from the second-floor balcony as well.
Cheng Shujin confirmed it—it was Chi Youyou!
But wasn’t she supposed to be in a hospital room in Huaxia Imperial City?
"Aunt, don’t worry, I’ll have this lion shot immediately. I won’t let anything happen to Chi Youyou!"
He had specially bought a lion as a gift for Chi Youyou, but now things had turned chaotic!
"No need."
In contrast to Cheng Shujin’s panic, Cheng Ruosheng remained calm and stopped him, a serene expression on her face, "It’s a small matter, don’t worry, Youbao can handle it."
Cheng Shujin: ???
Aunt!
Are you serious? Are you joking with me?
This is a small matter???
