The Female CEO Falls in Love with Me
Chapter 805 - 136: Running Into Coworkers at the Movies
Everyone finally understood that it was a misunderstanding, this was probably the boss’s person, and had nothing to do with the CEO. By the time they reacted, Yurong and that girl were already gone. But if it was just a female friend, there wasn’t much to gossip about, that was too normal.
Just as they were about to discuss Yurong, Li Yan had slowly walked over to them, glancing over at them through his sunglasses.
Even though they couldn’t see clearly where Li Yan was looking because of the sunglasses, with a woman’s instinct, they felt he was glancing at their chests. The female staff of the PR department all frowned, and a few men appropriately stood up for them.
"What are you looking at? Never seen a beauty before?"
But they were still worried this was a real boss, so after shouting, they all said rather sheepishly, "Let’s go!"
The movie was about to start, and the group left.
Li Yan continued to smoke and look at the posters. After a while, he noticed through the corner of his eye that there were no acquaintances nearby anymore. Only then did he take off his big sunglasses and quickly walked inside.
"Is it done?"
"It’s done, the movie is about to start. Come out now!"
Yurong had just been taken to the ladies’ restroom on the second floor by that girl and learned from her that someone gave her two hundred bucks to do this, and her task was now over.
Staying in the restroom wasn’t great, and since they were all girls, they might come to use it too. So she called Li Yan and, after confirming it was okay, hurried out.
Just as she turned the corner, she was met with a puff of smoke. She instinctively held her breath, waved her hand in front of her face, and covered her nose and mouth.
"Hey beauty, care to join me for a movie? I’ve already bought the tickets!" Li Yan smiled as he handed over the movie ticket.
Seeing it was him, Yurong relaxed and then said irritably, "Can you act a little more decent? You look so shady!"
"This way no one can recognize my refined and handsome true self!"
Yurong hesitated for a moment, looked around, and softly asked, "Are we still watching?"
"If you’re asking for my opinion, of course, yes, why not? Just now I spared them some face by not confronting them. After we enter, they won’t see you anyway."
As he spoke, Li Yan wrapped a white scarf around Yurong’s neck. He then removed the hat and sunglasses from his own head and even threw his cigarette butt into the trash can.
And indeed, with this, their appearances were different. If not viewed directly, but just in the theater, it was difficult to tell the current Yurong and Li Yan from the previous Yurong and that boss.
"Of course, if you’re feeling pressured, we can skip it. We can go somewhere else to have fun, or watch another showtime instead."
Yurong thought for a moment, shook her head, "No need. If I think about it seriously, it’s nothing, even if they see us or recognize us, so what? Let’s go!"
"Since that’s the case... then let’s go!" Li Yan unexpectedly pulled out a pair of tea-colored glasses, put them on; they weren’t as exaggerated as the big sunglasses, but they did provide some cover.
"Haha, wearing sunglasses to a movie, people might think you’re blind!"
"Or perhaps I’m a celebrity? Afraid of paparazzi, so I only take them off inside."
They joked and laughed, heading into the theater together for ticket inspection.
After entering and finding their seats, both of them found it somewhat amusing—it truly was a small world! Several female colleagues from the PR department and their male partners had already entered and were seated just two rows ahead, so they could easily be seen if they just turned around.
"It’s okay..." Li Yan reassured her, holding her hand tightly.
Yurong responded with a soft "Hmm," her heart fluttering like a frightened deer, feeling as if she were a high school student afraid of being caught dating by parents or teachers. This sensation was entirely new to her and rather unique.
To avoid attracting attention, both of them lowered their heads slightly, leaning close to each other, mimicking a couple talking intimately.
No wonder it’s the best season of the year, no wonder it’s the box office champion in Yun Country; even daytime showings had high attendance. Sitting among strangers was initially to avoid being seen, but Yurong eventually grew used to leaning against Li Yan. If she leaned towards others, it felt even more awkward.
"Is this the first time you’ve watched a movie with a guy?" Li Yan asked softly.
"Mm. But..." Yurong hesitated for a moment before softly chuckling, "Can I even count you as a ’guy’?"
"Uh... I’m an ’old boy’, right?"
"How about you? I’m sure it’s not your first time, right?"
"Let me think... how many times I don’t remember, let’s see how many I do remember... twenty-five, twenty-six, twenty-seven..." Li Yan pretended to count, and then deliberately started saying the numbers aloud on purpose.
Of course, Yurong didn’t believe his nonsense, slightly pouted, then noticed their surroundings again, whispering, "They’re all eating a lot, and we’ve got nothing..."
Li Yan was helpless, they did have time to buy stuff, and he didn’t forget either; it was just that bumping into the colleagues earlier meant no time.
"What do you want to eat? I’ll go out and get it for you now!"
