Chapter 78: Chapter 78: The Showdown [7]

The cool drops of the nectar of herbs touched Shen Yuan’s tongue, and the next second, a warm sensation exploded throughout his body.

The blood from Shen Yuan’s shoulder and biceps stopped.

Even as fresh blood continued to stain his robes, the torn flesh had already begun slowly knitting itself back together, healing at a pace visible to the naked eye.

Although he was recovering, it was not instantaneous.

Shen Yuan slowly opened his eyes and immediately saw five servants closing in on him from different directions, their weapons already within striking distance.

However, none of them posed the greatest threat. It was the throwing knife that Shi Lui had released. It had already crossed the entire cave and was now less than two feet away from his face.

Shen Yuan’s hand moved faster than the blade itself.

Clank!

The sickle swept upward in a blur and struck the flying knife aside. The blade immediately changed direction and shot sideways instead of continuing towards Shen Yuan.

The servant with the severed tongue had just rushed into its path.

Pfft!

The throwing knife buried itself straight through his throat before he even realized what had happened. His body froze in place as blood poured from the wound.

The iron mace slipped from his hands and crashed onto the stone floor while he desperately clawed at the knife lodged in his neck.

"Ghh...!"

His knees gave out.

Thud!

Shi Lui immediately flicked her wrist, trying to pull the knife back using the nearly invisible thread attached to its handle.

Unfortunately...

She was too late.

By the time the thread became taut, the servant had already collapsed onto the ground, his eyes staring blankly at the cave ceiling.

The knife slid free from his throat and flew back towards Shi Lui’s open hand, but the man was already dead.

She turned her head to look at the man who was responsible for it all and saw him moving already.

Shen Yuan moved to the next servant without even waiting for the previous body to fall.

"Is this all you have? Who do you think is gonna get out of this cave alive like this? Me or you?" Shen Yuan threw his head back and laughed like a madman.

Stepping before the second servant, he crouched and stretched his arm back before swinging it down at the servant’s knees. ’I cannot keep this up for too long; instead of going to them, I have to make sure they come to me.’

His eyes were moving fast; he was analyzing the whole cave instead of just one person, which was why he was able to dodge the incoming qi-enforced arrow that came from the man standing at the far end of the cave.

Shen Yuan’s sickle carved a shallow cut across the servant’s knees before he even realized he had been attacked.

"AAAH!!"

The man collapsed forward.

Before his body could even hit the ground, Shen Yuan had already stepped past him.

An arrow whistled past the spot where his head had been a fraction of a second earlier.

Thunk!

It buried itself deep into the cave wall.

Shen Yuan did not even look back at the thing that almost blew his head away. His eyes remained fixed upon everyone inside the cave.

Every weapon.

Every footstep.

Every strand of qi flowing through their bodies.

It was the day when a Body Tempering Realm Cultivator was standing against more than thirty fake Qi Condensation Realm cultivators on his own.

Even though the path they had taken was misleading and made them weaker than a true expert in the Qi Condensation Realm, it did not make a difference to Shen Yuan, who did not even have a trace of qi in his body.

’One... two... left.’

Shen Yuan’s body twisted as a sword barely grazed his shoulder.

Splash!

He ducked beneath a spear. The sickle in his hand hooked around another servant’s chest before he pulled it through his shoulder, all the way to his wrist, and ripped the weapon right out of his hands.

Splash!

Clang!

The spear spun through the air.

Shen Yuan caught it without slowing down while the blood washed over his body like a crimson shower of doomsday.

At the same time...

Something quietly changed inside his mind.

[Strength (STR): 97 → 98]

Shen Yuan didn’t notice it; he did not have the time to.

He threw the spear in his hand like a javelin.

Pfft!

It pierced through another servant’s thigh. The man screamed as Shen Yuan kicked him straight into two others charging from behind.

Bang!

Three bodies crashed into one another before falling to the ground.

Shen Yuan immediately discarded the spear.

The next instant, he snatched a fallen saber from the ground and ran towards the person commanding the charge of the battle.

Shi Lui.

’If I take her down, I hunt down the rest like the dogs they are.’ Every move he made was filled with cold precision.

Splash!

Clank!

Crunch!

Thud!

Shen Yuan did not let his actions be predictable. He moved like he had no aim.

More people rushed in.

More weapons came from every direction.

Shen Yuan simply kept moving.

Vanishing Step.

One moment he stood before them.

The next...

Only an afterimage remained.

Every weapon that entered his hands became another tool to kill.

The saber broke.

He threw it away.

A staff appeared.

It snapped across someone’s jaw.

He discarded it.

Then came Shi Lui’s Flying blade. But it was not flying anymore. It was in her hands.

Shi Lui no longer stayed in the backlines and decided to step up.

[Agility (AGI): 98 → 99]

"The Blade of Ninth Hell." Shi Lui shouted the name of the attack before a layer of thin ice covered the blade in her hands completely.

Servants rarely train in battle arts because of how expensive they are. Most of them don’t have any; a rare few would only train in one.

But there are some servants who managed to get their hands on two, one way or another.

Shi Lui was one of them.

"Blazing Steps!" Qi exploded under her feet before her figure shot further.

Shen Yuan’s eyes widened as the tip of the blade was only an inch away from them. This was not within his calculations, and...
