Hammock then sighed and said, "Even the process of becoming a Dao Lord is a mystery. There is no record of the ascension of Dao Lords including who they were before they ascended and what time they actually became Dao Lords. If not for the recent ascension of the Sword God, I would have thought that Dao Lords were natural powerhouses created by the universe and born strong right from the start."

That had been the end of the conversation. Now that he was thinking about it, he couldn’t help but gain a newfound appreciation for his ability to pass through the world barriers without paying any cost.

As a path opened for him through the wall of mist, he said to himself, "Who would have thought that this would also be called the road of death? And here I thought it was just a nuisance."

"But only a serious note, how come the world barrier doesn’t drain my lifespan. It only drains my internal energy, so is my internal energy good enough for it, or is my lifespan impossible to drain?"

"Is it that the world barrier simply doesn’t like my lifespan? Or could it be that the world barrier likes me so much that it can’t bear to drain my lifespan?"

That last question made him chuckle to himself as he went into the world barrier and passed through the path. He found it amusing to think about because if it were true, it would mean the will of the world was his secret admirer.

He was thinking about this when he suddenly felt someone inquiring about him. To be specific, that person was inquiring about Lady Red’s death. He was simply in the line of fire of the investigation, which was why he was being notified of someone spying on him.

When he sensed this, he curled his lips and said, "That must be the snake queen. I guess that’s how she found me in the previous timeline. It seems she truly cares about Lady Red if she is willing to spend some of her lifespan to find out who killed Lady Red."

Then he clicked his tongue in amazement and said, "I couldn’t have avoided her that time she found me, even if I tried. A mortal simply stands no chance against a divine being. Especially not a divine being with a lot of lifespan to spend."

He thought about letting her know that he was the one who killed Lady Red so that he could lure her over and ambush her. But he didn’t want any problems now. Especially since he is about to fight a world king.

The small world he is going to has a world king. That world king must die for his plans, and he is fairly certain that he can pull this off. But he doesn’t want to add another divine being into the mix to complicate things. So he decided to block the inquisition.

His decision to block the inquisition immediately made the snake queen calm down. This was because she now knew that whoever killed Lady Red was a divine being like her.

If the murderer had been a mortal, then that mortal should prepare to die. But now that the murderer is a divine being, it is all but certain that Lady Red is completely dead without any chance of reincarnation.

It is also certain that she will have to spend a lot of her lifespan if she decides to continue pursuing the murderer. With this kind of cost, it just isn’t worth it to fight for someone who can never be recovered. So the snake shrugged and gave up on the inquiry.

She still hasn’t given up on getting revenge, though. She just isn’t willing to pay too much of a price for the revenge.

And since she already knew the divine being who had been trying to kill Lady Red for a long time, she felt that she didn’t need to spend this much lifespan to confirm what she already knew. She simply decided to go and find Monarch Floating Furnace to give him some trouble.

While the Snake Queen went to look for the Monarch Floating Furnace in the second heaven, Loki made his way to the small world. Just as he reached the crystal shield of the world, the world had already sensed him and had entered a state of high alert.

A loud voice full of power and authority came from the world, saying, "Begone, stranger. You are not welcome here."

The warning also contained an unspoken threat about what could happen to him if he didn’t leave. But Loki didn’t heed the warning.

He ignored the voice and reached out to touch the crystal shield. Then he activated the Devour Ability and channeled it through his arm into his hands.

His actions caused a black forcefield to appear on his hands. Then this black force field spread all over the crystal shield.

Even before he was done with whatever he was doing, the world had become angry. An enraged roar came from the world, saying, "Stop that immediately."

He didn’t stop, so whoever was shouting at him got fed up with him and decided to do something to stop him. They attacked him from within the world with a blindingly fast attack.

The crystal shield was blocking his sight, so he couldn’t see what was going on in the world. So he could not see the attack coming for him. This meant that he couldn’t avoid the attack.

Whatever attacked him pierced the black forcefield and struck him in the chest. The resulting explosion as the projectile struck his chest caused an explosion that cracked the crystal shield.

He was also pushed back by the force of the blow. But aside from a dent on his chest, he was fine.

Instead of being cowed by that attack, his eyes lit up, and he said, "Now that’s what the power of a divine being should look like. Even the world king of a small world like this is orders of magnitude stronger than that Gold Body."
