The Greatest Village Doctor In The World
Chapter 2339 - 2338: Night Raid
Ling Feng was waiting in his wooden cabin, expecting Mu Mu, but instead, he heard a series of clanging alarm sounds!
The alarm was established when the new Ling Family Village was first being built, to prevent beast attacks. There’s a night guard on duty who will immediately sound the alarm upon noticing something abnormal.
Upon hearing this sound, Ling Feng sat up immediately and rushed out in a flash.
Already, people by the outer railing were shouting, and Ling Feng didn’t hesitate, leaping directly toward them.
Next to the railing, several weapon-wielding individuals were surrounded by dozens of soldiers from the Ling Family Army.
Seeing these people made Ling Feng furrow his brows!
These were the Earth superpower users that Xiao Xiao had discovered earlier, who later came here to ask for directions!
Now they were all wounded, evidently outmatched, and injured by the Ling Family Army.
Simultaneously, Ling Feng also saw several wounded soldiers from the Ling Family Army, bloodstained.
Seeing this, Ling Feng stepped forward, speaking in a deep voice, "Calm down, all of you!"
"Ling Brother, you’re here, they attacked us!" The previous captain said.
"I know."
Ling Feng nodded and stepped forward to face the individuals.
The opposite party, upon seeing Ling Feng, froze for a moment before their faces changed!
Afterward, a white man quickly said, "Ling Feng, we didn’t know you were here!"
"Hmm, if you did know, you wouldn’t dare to come!"
Ling Feng nodded, sneering coldly, "No matter where you go, you can’t shake off your inherited robbing nature, huh? Think this village’s people are easy to bully?"
"This...."
The white man paused and pondered, then said, "We didn’t mean it, but just found that the thing we were looking for had been taken away earlier, so we wanted to see if they had taken it!"
"Excuse!"
Ling Feng sneered, "If you really wanted to ask, you could have come directly through the front gate. You climbing over the fence in the middle of the night clearly meant robbery—did you think I don’t understand your true nature?"
"Mr. Ling, it’s really a misunderstanding; we didn’t intend to do anything!" the other side said.
Ling Feng was indifferent; on Earth, these people’s ancestors were robbing slave masters a hundred years ago, and now dressed in suits, they’re supposedly civilized?
The innate robbing bloodline cannot be forgotten!
So he didn’t care how they explained, sternly asking, "Enough of that; tell me now, what’s your purpose in entering the Dark Forest?"
The group glanced at each other, knowing Ling Feng’s methods, so the white man didn’t plan to hide anything and directly said, "We came to look for Mystical Spirit Stones."
"Oh, who told you there are Mystical Spirit Stones here?" Ling Feng asked.
"It was...our benefactor." The white man replied.
Ling Feng was taken aback, "What benefactor?"
"It’s a task we accepted. Someone offered a high price for us to enter here, find enough Mystical Spirit Stones, and take them back." The white man explained.
"Oh, so you’re considered mercenaries for someone?" Ling Feng asked.
"Sort of, for survival." The white man replied awkwardly.
Ling Feng nodded, "So that’s the case!"
Then pondered, "Since we’re all from Earth, I won’t kill you, but you wounded my people, how will you account for that?"
"Uh..."
The other party paused, then laughed bitterly, "We don’t have anything valuable on us!"
"Alright then, I won’t deal with this anymore. Let’s see what my people say; if they agree to let you go, then you can go!"
Ling Feng said, turning to leave.
The white man hurriedly shouted, "Wait, don’t leave!"
He realized the Ling Family Army was murderous, and letting them decide meant no chance of leaving alive tonight!
Ling Feng turned back to them, "What else do you want to say?"
"We have a few Mystical Spirit Stones; can they be compensation?"
The white man suggested, hinting to his companions, who then produced several Mystical Spirit Stone crystals.
The largest was only the size of an egg, and the smallest was like a peanut, hardly anything to Ling Feng.
But he understood, this was likely the best they could offer.
So he turned and asked the captain, "Can these compensate for our brothers’ injuries?"
"It’ll do!"
The captain was clever and immediately nodded.
"Alright."
Ling Feng nodded and said to the white man, "Leave the items, and you may go!"
"Thank you, Mr. Ling!"
The white man and his companions reacted as if pardoned, hurriedly nodding and bowing in gratitude.
As they were about to leave, Ling Feng called out to them, "Wait!"
Their bodies trembled as they looked back nervously, "Is there anything else?"
"Where did you come from, and who is your benefactor?" Ling Feng asked.
"We came from Xuantian City; our benefactor is the City Lord, named Xuan Jiutian." The white man answered.
Ling Feng nodded, "Is this person one of the Dragon Clan?"
"Yes, the City Lord must be from the Dragon Clan." The white man replied.
"Where is Xuantian City located, and how far is it from here?" Ling Feng inquired.
"According to Earth’s measurements, it’s around five hundred kilometers, directly south." The other party answered.
Ling Feng nodded, "Alright, you can leave now!"
The white man and his companions exhaled in relief, turning to leave without daring to glance back.
"Ling Brother, should someone follow them?" the captain stepped forward to ask.
"No need. They recognized me; even with ten guts, they wouldn’t dare to attack again unless they don’t want to live!"
Ling Feng chuckled, then continued, "Let everyone go rest; you all did well tonight, rewards will be given tomorrow!"
"Thank you, Brother!"
The crowd’s eyes lit up at this!
In this Ling Family Village, the so-called rewards were food items; other conditions were still too limited.
Although they hunted wild beasts for food every day, there were grades, not all were as tasty.
And when Ling Feng mentioned rewards, it always meant delicious and Xuan Qi-filled food; how could they not be happy?
Faced with everyone’s enthusiasm, Ling Feng smirked and returned to his wooden cabin.
Upon entering, he saw someone lying sideways, looking intently at him.
Mu Mu was draped in a thin veil, one of the garments retrieved from underwater last time.
The veil covered half of her body yet added boundless allure, leaving Ling Feng stunned!
He then chuckled bitterly, "When did you learn this trick, girl!"
"It’s innate, part of my nature; do you like it, brother?"
Mu Mu shifted from her innocent appearance, smiling seductively.
