The Hero is Hunting me!
Chapter 121: The Villain Behind the Mask
’w-what exactly is happening...? why did Princess Madeleine suddenly die!? this is completely different from the original storyline! it’s still far too early for Princess Madeleine to die!’
Right as Jinhoo sat there in confusion—
The television broadcast suddenly showed several villains attacking civilians before they were struck down by a brilliant golden light.
’huh!? Lightnova!? what is she doing over there!?’
Jinhoo’s hand trembled slightly.
Everything was spiraling far beyond his expectations.
He had no idea what was happening anymore.
Just as he continued staring at the television, the phone beside his sofa suddenly rang.
Jinhoo turned toward it.
It was Eun-bi calling.
"...damn it... i seriously have the worst luck possible..."
He muttered anxiously.
Sweat formed on his face as confusion overwhelmed him.
He began hesitating.
’...what should i do...? i need to go to france and figure out what’s really happening... but i still have unfinished business here first...’
Frustration slowly appeared on his face.
Jinhoo clenched his fist tightly.
"Damn it!"
He grabbed his phone and answered Eun-bi’s call.
"Yeah, Eun-bi... I’ll head there right away."
After saying that, he immediately hung up and stood from the sofa.
Without wasting another second, he quickly headed toward his room to change clothes.
The television remained on, its broadcast still echoing through the living room.
Coincidentally, So-ah had just finished showering and happened to walk by.
She was drying her still-wet hair with a towel.
She paused briefly after hearing the television.
"Hmm?"
She turned toward the screen.
"Huh... this must be Oppa’s doing again... he always watches TV and leaves without turning it off—"
Suddenly—
So-ah froze.
Her eyes widened in disbelief at what she saw.
"W-what the hell is this..."
The television showed Paris.
The once beautiful city filled with lively citizens had now become something resembling a collapsing wasteland.
The legendary Eiffel Tower stood partially destroyed from villain attacks.
Fires burned everywhere.
Corpses littered the streets.
The voice of the news reporter echoed loudly.
[The death toll continues rising! What initially began at around 300 casualties has now exceeded 500! And the number may continue increasing!]
"This... this is insane..."
So-ah muttered in shock.
Her body trembled as she stared at the horrifying broadcast.
This level of chaos was completely beyond reason.
---
At the Eul-wong building.
Jinhoo suddenly appeared inside Eun-bi’s office through teleportation.
"Jinhoo!"
Eun-bi immediately ran toward him.
"Is everything under control?"
"Yeah, everything’s under control, but—"
Jinhoo suddenly looked confused.
At that exact moment—
BANG!
The office door was violently kicked open.
The door slammed wide open as a group of men wearing black suits and black masks entered the room.
Their masks were deliberately designed to resemble Indigo’s.
Each of them carried machine guns aimed directly at Jinhoo and Eun-bi.
Eun-bi immediately began trembling.
Jinhoo slowly turned toward them.
Then—
After the armed men entered—
A woman casually walked into the room behind them.
Eun-bi’s eyes widened in shock the moment she recognized her.
"L-Leona!? What are you doing!?"
Leona stopped walking.
A sinister smile appeared on her face as she glanced toward Jinhoo standing beside Eun-bi.
"Oh? What a coincidence. Two very important targets gathered inside the same room... this will make things incredibly easy."
"W-What are you talking about, Leona!?"
Eun-bi shouted angrily.
"Quiet."
Leona’s smile widened.
"Once both of you die, we’ll be able to take control of this company. And once news of your deaths spreads..."
Her eyes narrowed coldly.
"You’ll both be declared victims of Indigo."
"You—"
Right as Eun-bi was about to yell again—
Jinhoo interrupted her calmly.
"What makes you think you can manipulate the media that easily?"
Leona glanced toward him.
"Oh~ looks like the handsome man wants to act like a hero~"
Jinhoo remained silent.
Leona continued speaking mockingly.
"Just because you survived the assassination attempt doesn’t mean you should act so arrogantly in front of the person who planned it~"
Eun-bi’s eyes widened after hearing that.
"A-assassination attempt? Jinhoo... is what she said true?"
Jinhoo remained silent for a moment, staring coldly at Leona.
Leona smirked again.
"I still don’t know how you survived that attack... but this time, I’ll make absolutely sure you won’t survive again."
Eun-bi continued staring at Jinhoo anxiously.
"Jinhoo! Answer me!!"
"...Yeah."
He finally responded calmly.
"It’s true. Someone planned to kill me after that IMF meeting."
His gaze remained fixed on Leona.
"At first, I assumed Julian was behind it... but it seems I was wrong."
His eyes narrowed.
"There was someone else hiding behind the scenes."
Eun-bi looked even more disturbed now.
She slowly turned toward Leona.
Leona only smiled sinisterly in response.
"From the very beginning, I found it suspicious."
Jinhoo calmly continued.
"There’s no way an idiot like Julian would plan an assassination himself. That kind of reckless move doesn’t fit a businessman."
He stared directly into Leona’s eyes.
"So it was you manipulating him from behind."
Leona simply continued smiling.
Then she spoke again.
"It seems there’s nothing left to discuss anymore."
Her expression became cold.
"Everyone... kill them both."
The armed men immediately pulled their triggers.
Gunfire exploded throughout the room.
Bullets rapidly shot toward Jinhoo and Eun-bi.
Eun-bi trembled in fear.
But Jinhoo instantly stepped in front of her.
With one arm, he pulled Eun-bi against him protectively.
His other hand stretched toward the incoming bullets.
Then—
Jinhoo quietly muttered.
"Void."
Instantly—
A dark blue light appeared before his palm.
Inside that light looked like an endless galaxy filled with millions of stars.
The bullets were immediately sucked into it.
Vanishing completely.
As if swallowed by a black hole.
After the gunmen emptied their magazines—
Leona looked genuinely surprised.
"Oh~ so that’s how it is..."
Her eyes narrowed curiously.
"You possess a special ability. No wonder you survived the assassination attempt."
A smirk appeared on her face.
"So you’re a hero."
Hearing that—
Jinhoo slowly lowered his hand.
Then he laughed quietly.
Leona frowned in confusion.
Meanwhile, Eun-bi simply smiled.
"Too bad."
Eun-bi spoke while smiling calmly.
"Your guess was almost correct."
Jinhoo nodded slightly.
"She’s right."
He stared at Leona.
"Your guess was almost perfect."
Then his eyes sharpened.
"But you were wrong at the very end."
"Huh? What do you mean?"
Leona now looked both confused and curious.
The atmosphere inside the room slowly changed.
Jinhoo stepped forward, standing protectively in front of Eun-bi.
"Before speaking..."
He spoke calmly.
"You should think more carefully first."
His voice became colder.
"Otherwise, the people around you will laugh at you."
Leona’s confusion only deepened.
Then—
Jinhoo snapped his fingers.
Instantly—
A blue light surrounded his body.
The business suit he previously wore disappeared.
Replacing it was an all-black outfit.
A black suit.
A long black coat.
And finally—
A black mask formed over his face.
Jinhoo opened his mouth and spoke from behind the mask.
"I’m a villain."
His voice echoed calmly throughout the room.
"Nice to meet you~"
Then he smiled beneath the mask.
"My name is Indigo."
The moment they saw him—
Leona’s eyes widened in shock.
The masked gunmen immediately began trembling in fear.
After hurriedly reloading their weapons, they quickly aimed their guns at Indigo again.
But before they could even pull the trigger—
Indigo moved first.
He snapped his fingers once more.
Dark blue lights instantly appeared around their weapons.
Void.
The guns were immediately sucked away into the dark blue portals.
Vanishing completely like they had never existed.
"I-Indigo!?"
Leona shouted in disbelief after witnessing Jinhoo transform into the infamous villain.
