The hivemind is conquering for me?

Taking out the Drakoshi was no problem, By the time I had killed three, Tamara and Skaja had killed one and Nerissa had killed the rest.

I saw out of the corner of my eye when we engaged Ulf being targeted by the flamethrower and assumed the worst as I left Zircon inside a body a moment to feed. Turning to him, expecting a charred corpse, I sighed in relief upon witnessing a bald and naked Lena.

Still, as I approached, I asked. "Lena, Ulf. Are you two ok?

Lena brushed her boobs of some ash before giving me two thumbs up. "Oh yeah, these fire fuckers are not so fiery. Their fuel was only around eight hundred degrees Celsius. Children play with fire hotter than that! Couldn’t hurt me if it tried, weak ass punk as fire. Nothing like..." She began to murmur to herself about ’real fire’

Skaja then walked up and crouched down next to Ulf and inspected his wounds and nodded to herself ’field treatable.’

"We are lucky Lena was with us. Her resistance to flame has saved your life, you big lug." She said and punched him in the shoulder, a reflex, an action she instantly regretted.

"Ah, shit sorry!" She exclaimed and Ulf groaned in agony, but he chuckled it off.

At this point Francesca and Greg had run down the slope ahead of everyone else, they first checked Lena, but after Baldy gave them a cheery how do you do, they swiftly began treating Ulf.

As the others arrived down by the river, Skaja spoke. "We don’t know if this patrol was being monitored or when they were supposed to return which means we are now working on a clock. Everyone get in the water, Ulf, are you good?"

Francesca responded in Ulf’s place. "Lena blocked almost all of the stream. Most of his burns are only first degree. Some minor splotches of second and third which I am prioritising now. But if his combat effectiveness isn’t affected by a little pain, he should be good. Plus the cold river will do his burns some good and alleviate everything I leave behind."

Skaja chuckled upon hearing that. "You hear that Ulf? Do you think you can fight through some pain?"

The man stood up and rolled his shoulders, he nodded at Francesca and Greg for the quick patch up before chuckling. "Yeah, I think I can manage a bit of pain, not like I’ve been gored before or anything..." He smirked before turning to Lena and hastily averting his eyes from the half-naked woman.

"Hey, thanks. I’d be a goner if not for you."

Lena walked forward and began to massage the guy’s arms innocently. "Not a problem, but man, you have some nice burns now. It would be a waste to heal them all the way up." She then hastily changed the subject.

"Apollo, do you have any spare clothes by chance? I can’t fight with my tits out... Or can I? I wonder if the Drakoshi will fall for my, feminine charms~" She said, attempting to be alluring as she began to shake her breasts in a seductive manner.

I looked at them for a moment before snapping out of it as Nerissa approached Lena with some clothes she had created with her power. "Your grav-gear still looks intact, so you should be fine." Nerissa spoke before walking behind me.

Skaja’s gaze lingered on Nerissa for a moment before shrugging it off. "Alright people, like I said, we are on a time crunch now, get in your water and wear whatever form of gear you have with you for not drowning"

I watched as everyone began to get into the water, from those not wearing body covering gear, there were a few ooh and aah from them before they descended past their heads.

Sithrik then entered the water and upon contact with her scales, the water began to bubble. I thought this might be a problem for a moment but as her whole body submerged and she began to disappear, the water stopped bubbling.

She was hot, but not hot enough to dry out an entire river. It would take Sol without her restrictions to do that. Or me dropping a mini sun... But that would be bad even for everyone, myself included.

Not letting the intrusive thoughts win, I entered the water. It was cold, I assumed. The river was also quite deep. By the time we were at the bottom, I had gone down by at least four times my height, which was pretty much eight feet in my armour.

More than enough to hide us all.

I looked around and couldn’t see much, but I looked up and could see light of the planet’s moons darting across the surface and knew nothing was below me.

’So much better than the ocean.’

Plus Sithrik was semi-Aquatic and could traverse in these conditions and had volunteered herself to act as our eyes. She even went as far as to allow everyone else to stand close to her body, her red slightly glowing scales and her warming of the water would act as a natural beacon to follow.

Even with the grav-gear keeping everyone on the riverbed, the effort of having to push through the water made the couple mile journey take longer. But, my plan was sound.

We had long reached the Drakoshi line of sight, the massive floodlights around the fortress had been shining and illuminating the river above us. The depth had been keeping us safe from detection.

Not long later, Sithrik turned her head towards me and booped my helmet before she turned her head upwards. We had arrived. I then signalled to Skaja and Nerissa who were closest to me, with universal hand signals and they relayed it backwards.

I used my Gyrokinesis to reach the surface and stuck my head out alongside Sithrik. We were right next to the wall. The others were taking the ascent a bit slower to not get bends, but they were all up in no time.

I then signalled to Iilr and he nodded at me as he manifested his Psionic power.

I grabbed the end of the ropes he produced and found a position in the wall foundation I could get out of the water fully with. Then with a mixture of ’jump good’ and flight, I ascended the massive walls and stopped at the parapet before glancing over. Two guards were currently standing there, half asleep. On either side of them were two gun turret tower emplacements. I watched for a moment as I tied the rope to a sturdy point. As I was about to cross over. Sithrik had scaled up the wall effortlessly. I looked at her surprised before pointing to the guard to my right.

She did her best attempt at a nod without shoulders and I targeted the left.

Before the guard could even register what just happened Zircon was already piercing its brain as I softly placed its corpse down to make little noise. I then turned to Sithrik to check she was ok just in time to watch the Drakoshi’s head pop off its body at the pressure she applied around its neck.

I then jumped into action and caught the head as it was flying over the wall. I couldn’t risk the large splash it would make to alert the other Drakoshi. Fortunately I caught it soundly and now had a Drakoshi’s surprised face in my hand. I hastily put the thing back down and started to tie up the rest of the ropes. Everyone began to climb up, but it would take too long for them to climb up on their own. Fortunately, I could lift multiple tonnes and began to drag the ropes up one at a time.

Once at the top and everyone was accounted for, Skaja took command. She indicated for us to take the adjoining towers to this parapet to secure our extraction. The task was successful. The Drakoshi on the massive guns didn’t even hear us approach.

On our side, Morrgan took out one target by crushing its skull with his bare hands, which surprised me as he was quite the feminine looking guy, while Ulf swung his hammer in complete silence before his target’s skull also turned into wall art.

After that, a fallback point was set up. The doors to the other sides of the walls were now going to be monitored by two people each side. Any Drakoshi that came were to be exterminated.

With Bubble, Vine, Francesca and Greg being the mission support, they were assigned the task while the rest of us split up. Iilr, Kephissa and Morrgan were to sneak their way around the base, planting the explosives on the walls. They would be doing this Solo so I wished them the best of luck.

Nerissa, Rhea, Lena, Skaja, and Ulf were going after the Drakoshi leadership, which left Willow, Sithrik, Tamara and I with the final task.

I looked up at the remaining walls we had to ascend without getting caught.

It was our job to take out the Boomstick.
