When Nan Qiu led Lin Tian and the others to the entrance of the operating room again, there were already some personnel with masks and gloves standing there.

It seemed the testing had already been done.

"Chief."

Upon seeing Nan Qiu, Number Six removed his mask.

Nan Qiu nodded and asked, "How are the results?"

"We are still investigating, Mr. Pu is already working on the analysis, and I believe we will have results soon," Number Six said.

"Alright." Nan Qiu initially intended to have Lin Tian and the team return to the conference room to await further news, but just then, Mr. Pu, who Number Six had mentioned earlier, came over with the results, so she didn’t speak further.

Mr. Pu was a middle-aged man around fifty, walking with a very steady demeanor, holding a folder in his hands.

"Mr. Pu, are the results out?" Number Six asked.

Mr. Pu had a somewhat grave expression, nodded, then opened the folder in his hand, handed it to Nan Qiu, and said, "The tests show that the air in the operating room is significantly different from the outside air. There is an additional unknown gas, and when we took a blood sample from Tong Wei and did an experiment, we found that the unknown gas could trigger the toxins in Tong Wei’s body."

Mr. Pu spoke in the local dialect, which Lin Tian could not understand. He patted Number Six on the shoulder and asked, "What is he saying?"

Number Six translated Mr. Pu’s words, and Nan Qiu simultaneously handed the document in her hand to him, as she couldn’t understand it either.

Lin Tian glanced at the folder Nan Qiu handed over, which was filled with numbers and some ’Martian text’ he couldn’t recognize. He shook his head with a bitter smile and said, "Ask him, why is there such gas in the air, and where is the source?"

Number Six became the interpreter and conveyed Lin Tian’s words.

Mr. Pu responded, "The source is a gas containment box we found under the operating table. Although this gas is not toxic, it’s definitely artificially synthesized to trigger the toxins in Tong Wei."

Everyone present could understand these words, and the atmosphere suddenly became a bit strange.

Nan Qiu’s gaze lowered, and anger surged. She didn’t suspect Lin Tian and the others, as they hadn’t even entered the operating room; how could it be them?

"Investigate! Check all the surveillance footage!" Nan Qiu said coldly, "I want to know who brought that thing in within an hour."

Number Six straightened up, saluted, and replied, "Yes!"

Nan Qiu then looked at Lin Tian, Zhao Xuefeng, and the others, and very respectfully said, "Everyone, you can go back for now. Once Tong Wei recovers, I will personally visit and thank you for your efforts these past few days."

Zhao Xuefeng nodded, "Since there’s nothing more for us here, we’ll head out first. If there’s anything else, feel free to contact us."

"Alright. I’ll see you off."

Nan Qiu escorted everyone out, but one person didn’t leave, and naturally, that person was Lin Tian.

"Why are you still here?" Nan Qiu looked at Lin Tian, who seemed weary, and said somewhat kindly, "You’ve had a long day, you should go back and rest."

Lin Tian shook his head with a smile, "I can’t go back yet."

Nan Qiu also laughed, glanced at Lin Tian, and asked casually, "What are you staying here for? There’s no girl here for you to flirt with."

Nan Qiu had seen many versions of information on Lin Tian, each mentioning that this man was quite a playboy, juggling multiple relationships.

Lin Tian was lost in thought for a moment, then winked at Nan Qiu and said, "Aren’t you a girl?"

"I am a girl, but not one you can flirt with," Nan Qiu replied unamused by his banter, "There are many men who want to woo me, but none have met a good end. I advise you not to say such shameless things. In Celestial Dragon Continent, ’shameless’ must refer to people like you, right?"

Lin Tian felt very helpless and somewhat wronged. He thought, it’s just a joke, was there a need to say all that?

"Well, aren’t I a benefactor to your Tong Wei? Don’t you think speaking to me like that is not very nice?"

Nan Qiu’s smile gradually faded as she said, "You saved Tong Wei, and we will repay that debt. But if you’re trying to flirt with me, that’s a separate issue. Don’t you people in Celestial Dragon Continent have a saying about distinguishing between gratitude and grievances?"

Lin Tian couldn’t help but chuckle bitterly at hearing this from a girl from Xiaocheng, especially given her poor accent in the Celestial Dragon Continent’s language. Distinguishing between gratitude and grievances, huh?

Lin Tian didn’t bother engaging further, turned around, and walked toward the presidential suite on the top floor.

Nan Qiu caught up with him, blocking his path, and asked, "You still haven’t told me, what are you going back for?"

"It’s nothing, I’m just concerned about Tong Wei’s health. You saw the toxin outbreak before, if I’m not on-site, you all are helpless, and I’m the only one who can save Tong Wei! The acupuncture just took place half an hour ago, and no one can guarantee that nothing else will happen. I just came out with you to walk my teacher out, but I never said I was leaving." 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

Nan Qiu was momentarily stunned; she couldn’t refuse this reason.

Lin Tian didn’t wait for her to step aside, he simply sidestepped her, saying as he walked, "Besides, I’m very interested in that gas which triggers the toxins. I hope you don’t mind me knowing some of the inside details?"

Nan Qiu’s lips curled into a smile, "Is that your real intention?"

"Don’t make it sound so bad. ’Intention’ makes me sound like a spy. I’m just interested in pharmacology, toxins, and such things. Can’t I just want to understand more?"

"Alright, I’m not sure how to refuse this request of yours, but I hope you won’t interfere with our work," Nan Qiu conceded.

"Hahaha, I won’t do that."

Watching Lin Tian’s retreating back, Nan Qiu felt an indescribable sensation in her heart.

She had read eight versions of Lin Tian’s profile. Before high school, he was as ordinary as they come, but afterwards, he became something extraordinary.

No one could explain this phenomenon reasonably. It was as if this person simply was what he appeared to be.

Having actually interacted with him, Nan Qiu was even more dismissive of those so-called background materials, considering them to be utter nonsense, with no practical use. Lin Tian was not someone who could be captured on paper.

His way of doing things was truly unpredictable. Yet, he had so many shining qualities.

For the first time, Nan Qiu felt a strong curiosity about someone, wanting to know who he really was.
