The Kingmaker System
Chapter 538 - 537. Even A Dragon Falls Sick (1)
The Ryujin mansion was in the state of chaos the moment Sol came running, screaming for the servants- anyone present to go help him.
The servants were in an uproar the moment he said that Ocean had collapsed out in the forest and he was feverish.
Remi and a few more male servants had rushed ahead but till then, the security team had found Ocean and were hurriedly rushing him back.
Everyone were almost traumatized after watching Ocean’s limp body in the guard’s arms.
Doc Black was hurriedly called over from Oasis at the crack of the dawn.
He checked for Ocean’s vitals but couldn’t find any cause of the ailment. It was already so rare for a Dragon to have fallen sick.
"Nobody apart from doctor, myself, Kai, Roan, Remi and Enora are allowed inside this room." Sol ordered firmly watching as all the servants and even Davian was trying to get inside the room to check on Ocean.
"But, Young Master, what’s wrong with Master?"
"Yes, please, at least tell us, how he is?"
The servants kept asking while Davian also stepped ahead with a worried expression.
"Sol, even I can’t go in?" He asked and Sol pursed his lips.
For a proper diagnosis, Ocean would have to be in his real form and they couldn’t risk his identity being exposed, especially to Davian.
"Yes, even you can’t go in. So, please, everyone don’t cause a ruckus here and go back to your posts. Ocean will be fine soon." Sol said.
Everyone was heartbroken as they were turned away but it was nothing before what Kai was going through.
When he had seen Ocean unconscious and so weak, he had started hyperventilating and nearly collapsed himself, but Remi and Enora handled him well.
Kai remained by Ocean’s side, eyes red and puffed.
After Sol had driven away the servants and Davian, he closed the door and locked it before he walked up to the ones gathered inside.
Sol walked up to Ocean’s side and climbed on the bed, removing the earstud. The faint glimmer enveloped Ocean’s body and the false facade of a man’s form melted off revealing the beautiful woman beneath.
Doc gasped, his eyes widening as he watched the real form of his Master.
"A-A girl?" He gasped and then looked at the others in the room who didn’t seem fazed by this.
He pursed his lips, swallowing his shock before he reached out checking for the vitals properly this time.
Reina’s body was piping hot, her face flushed at cheeks but the rest of her body was pale they were scared thinking she might just be a wax doll. Everything about her was stark white, her hair, her skin and her lips.
"I don’t know the cause, it might be cold, she was drenched when they found her, right?" Doc spoke and Sol nodded.
"But why was Master all drenched? What exactly happened, Sol?" Kai asked barely able to keep his tears at bay.
Sol’s jaw clenched before he sighed and then placed his own hand over Ocean’s forehead. The hot, clammy skin was completely different from what he was used to.
Reina’s breathing was slightly labored and it was a matter of concern.
"Just give her some of your human medicine." Sol spoke.
"W-Will that work?" Kai asked and Sol sighed.
"She’s the scion of the Supreme Aqua Dragon. Healing is her expertise, if she’s fallen ill then the only thing that can heal her is her own mana. All we can do is wait." Sol explained.
The adults could only stand by and watch.
"So, what should we do from now on? The others will try to come and see Master and if they see her then..." Remi asked.
"It’s fine, we’ll have to move her if that’s the case. Or just tell them that Ocean is up and has left somewhere. We just need someone to put on a show." Sol said.
"But that won’t help, they will grow suspicious if they don’t see Master leaving themselves." Enora spoke and Sol sighed.
Kai who had been sitting shaken up till now inhaled deeply and wiped his face.
"I’ll do it." He announced.
"What?"
"I-I’ll pretend to be Master." Kai said.
The adults and Sol stared at him for a moment before Roan sighed.
"Good idea. If it’s Young Master then he would be able to do it."
Kai’s face brightened a little having the first approval and the others also nodded.
"You should move him to my room," Kai suggested.
"No, not your room." Sol spoke.
"He’s right, the servants keep visiting your room." Roan said.
"Then, shall I take her to the hospital. There is a special ward there, nobody would disturb her and I can keep an eye on her condition." Doc suggested.
"No, I’ll... need to be by her side. There’s still the unsettled case of the arson at school, we need to be careful. If there is any mishap then, her identity would be exposed." Sol spoke and Roan nodded.
"Exactly, so, I guess, Sol’s room would be the safest. Since even Master hasn’t allowed anyone but Mrs Jones or Mrs Cross to clean up his room." Remi said.
"Then, how are we going to do it?" Roan asked.
They all exchanged glances.
"As of now, let her be. We just have to keep everyone else out, at night, let’s move her to my room and then in the morning, Kai could show up as Ocean and tell everyone that he has some work and then pretend to teleport away and then come to my room. Understood?" Sol planned.
"But we won’t have to go through all this, if Master wakes up sooner, right?" Remi spoke.
"I hope she does wake up soon, it’s... worrisome to see her like this." Enora said.
Sol looked at Reina for a moment, his lips deepening into a frown. As much as they had hoped, he had a feeling that she might not wake up anytime soon. And it was a dangerous time indeed, she had to finish a lot of work while being Ocean.
Besides, if her family arrived before she awoke then Ryujin estate might just be blown away.
Sol could only hope that whatever ailment it was it would soon pass over. He could have healed her himself if he could use his own mana but, with the curse he was useless.
"Sol,"
Sol turned and looked at Kai who smiled at him.
"Thank you," Sol frowned a little.
"Why?"
"I... Well, none of us would have known what to do after seeing Master like that but... you took charge and even helped us make a plan. It is exactly what Master would have done in case of any trouble, stay calm and plan." Kai beamed.
"Indeed, thank you, Young Master Sol." Enora and Remi bowed.
"Well, since she’s out I’ll have to handle the administrative work and the paper work again," Roan sighed.
"Ah... I can help." Kai volunteered.
"Not yet," Roan said scratching the back of his head.
"I can’t have you sitting in the office," Kai was about to argue when Roan added.
"You will have to take care of things outside since Young Master Sol would be busy tending to Master."
Kai brightened up hearing that and he smiled, "All right!"
"Then what am I supposed to do?" Doc asked.
"Please send the medicine at times, until we inform you that Master isn’t awake." Kai said and Doc nodded.
"All right, I’ll go and get some ready now." He said as he picked up his bag.
He glanced once at the people around and then at the two kids before he glanced at Reina. He hadn’t expected that the man whom he had looked up to was a young girl all along. He thought after having his most loyal men become mutinous he wouldn’t be shocked by anything else anymore. But there were still some things that could make him jump out of his skin.
Doc hesitantly reached out and touched the smooth forehead of the young girl. It was hot, the white bangs stuck to the forehead and he couldn’t help but stare at the sleeping nymph-like girl. Well, at least the beauty wasn’t any less. Both in male and female form, this person was just as breathtaking.
Doc went back to Oasis while in the evening, the five members involved in the plan of moving Reina to Sol’s room were prepared.
After dinner, Enora had cleared up the entire floor for the night. After midnight, Roan and Remi snuck into Ocean’s room where Kai, Sol and Enora were waiting for them.
"Is the coast clear?" Kai asked.
"Yes, no one’s out. We can take her out now." Roan said.
"Be careful though," Kai said and Roan smiled.
"Don’t worry," Roan assured him before he leaned in placing his arms under Reina’s neck and the back of her knees.
Enora had changed her into a white nightgown with her hair braided so, Roan was careful not to move her a lot to mess her clothing. He hadn’t ever carried a woman before as he had grown up in a temple with the other male priests and though he was eager to date a beautiful girl, he had ended up having some complicated feelings for a man here.
Roan carried her up feeling the soft and gentle weight in his arms. His heart nearly skipped a beat in panic as he heard a groan escape her lips.
"D-Did I hurt her?" He asked. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
"No, it’s probably because of the movement, hurry and let’s move now." Sol said.
Roan nodded and watched Reina’s face which was quite close to his as she rested her head over his shoulder.
Remi who noticed it cleared his throat, "Now, now, don’t be enchanted by Master’s face, Mr Roan."
Roan’s face grew flushed and he looked at Remi.
"I-"
"Hurry!" Sol hissed as he, Kai and Enora had already reached till the door.
"Kai, stay in this room, and here." Sol placed Ocean’s earstud in Kai’s hand.
Kai felt a huge responsibility sitting on his hand as he looked at the earstud.
"I..." Kai spoke and Sol looked up at him.
"You’re her heir, right? Please take care of her post till she’s out." Sol said and Kai nodded.
"Good," he spoke.
Kai remained in the room watching as the others took Reina out.
