Davian plopped heavily on the bench breathing heavily after the spar while Miri sat down drinking water directly from the container.

"So, what is the problem?" She asked.

Davian looked at her contemplating over whether he should tell her or not. They were nowhere close to sharing secrets or giving advices. But maybe, he thought, an answer could come from her.

"It’s not exactly my problem," He started and Miri glanced at him.

"My friend," He added and she cocked her brow as if asking he had any friends at all.

"So, he’s in love with a girl... for over seven years." Miri nodded in understanding and Davian licked his lips.

"Even the girl seems to like him back." He added almost proudly with a grin and Miri leaned back on her arms crossing her lgs one over other.

"So, what’s the problem then?" She asked.

Davian entwined his fingers as he rested his arms over his thighs.

"The thing is... my friend has suddenly... Well..."

Davian wondered how he could say it in a way that she wouldn’t immediately understand the people in his story.

Miri, on the other hand, observed him and asked, "Did he cheat on her?"

Davian flinched and almost shouted, "Ch-Cheat?! No! It’s not... It’s not like that."

"Then what?" She asked.

Davian twiddled his thunbs as he said, "Well... in his life, there is a person who... who is very important to him... They are so outstanding that everyone around loves them."

Davian casted a cautious glance at Miri who despite him not being obvious seemed like she could see who this was about and he shool his head.

"Well, and since this strange moment a few days back... He-He’s been feeling weird around that person."

Miri’s eyebrows jumped with interest and she asked, "What kind of weird feeling?"

Davian licked his lips, "Tha-That person was sleeping one afternoon and well... I-I mean my friend, they went to them... But then... maybe they hallucinated it or... something... When they were there, they saw their lover’s face and their Mas- that person’s face as the same..."

Davian shook his head, "I know it’s impossible... Even my friend thinks it’s impossible but... Since that day... My friend can’t help but feel like the two are somehow similar... And he..."

Miri had expertly concealed her smile as she clearly understood the people in the story despite it not being clear enough. She just hadnt expected that Reina would have a lover here. Miri was excited to tease her.

"So, your problem is that you can’t figure out on whether you love this other person or not?" She surmised and Davian’s eyes lit up.

"Yes!" He said, "and not me, my friend."

Miri nodded, "Sure, sure, your friend."

Davian then looked at her expectantly, "So, what do you think?"

Miri observed his sincere expression and it tempted her very much to mess with the poor man’s head a little.

"Suppose there’s a huge fire," She started and he nodded.

"And both of these people are stuck inside completely helpless and only you can save them. Then who will you save first?" She asked.

"There’s nothing about mana or their power included here, just think of them as normal people for this hypothesis."

Davian stared at her for a moment and seemed to ponder seriously over it before he said, "That person is too selfless, they will ask me to help her first even if they are dying."

Miri sighed and shook her head, "Let’s change this a little. Close your eyes."

Davian blinked, "My eyes?"

"Yes, it’s quite natural for our heart to give an honest answer for such questions. Close your eyes and ask the same question and whichever face appears first. You love them." Miri explained.

Davian looked at her slightly dubious of her idea but then he breathed in deeply and slowly closed his eyes.

"Who do I like?" He thought to himself.

It didn’t even take a heart beat before he saw the long snowy white hair flowing before him, he smiled slightly and the figure turned, transforming the white into blue watery strands paired with those beautiful eyes and charming smile.

Davian’s eyes flew open and he grabbed his head as he couldn’t make sense of it.

"Wha-Wha-What... How is this possible?! Why am I seeing him?!" Davian groaned mortified.

Miri who watched his agony with nothing but amusement said, "Why not just love both?"

Davian looked at her, bewildered, "What?!"

"What’s the problem? Your kingdom allows polygamy, doesn’t it? Just marry both of them." She shrugged.

Davian gave her a look and she laughed, "I’m kidding."

He sighed, exasperated. "It’s too absurd to even be considered a jest, Your Majesty."

Miri shook her head, "Then are you going to keep being confused like this? If you run behind one you’ll keep missing other and feel like you’re cheating on them and vice versa. So, why not try and figure out whom you really love? I’m sure at the end, you’ll realise that running behind both is useless, both might just end up as one."

Davian blinked, unable to understand what she meant, "Pardon?"

Miri chuckled, "Just pursue both, you’ll know soon."

Davian shook his head with a huge sigh.

"I can’t," He groaned pressing his hands over his face.

"Why not?"

He looked at her with a miserable expression and then glanced around the empty training hall.

"This second person..." He said and then leaned closer to her side lowering his voice.

"Is a man."

Miri didn’t look fazed at all and Davian groaned running his hand through his hair.

"You can keep agonizing over it or man up and get your girl, or man, Davian. You asked for an advice, I gave it. Now it’s up to you. And besides, you better hurry. You never know when the fate can turn and you might just lose your chance with either."

Davian looked at her, still miserable.

"But... I really love her too..."

"When did I ever say leave her? If you love them both then try to be closer to them. Flirt a little if you can, you’re not losing anything here. Trust me, that’s how I’ve got closer to my squirrel as well." She beamed.

"Your squirrel?" Davian asked and she stood up stretching her arms above her head.

"Your future King," She said.

Davian stared at her for a moment, "You call him squirrel?"

Miri chuckled, "That’s what I thought of him when I first saw him. Fluffy, adorable and bright. Master has warned us for his future that’s why, I’m keeping my hands to myself or the world would have known who he belongs to long ago."

Davian couldn’t help but stare at her with the mixed feelings of disbelief and admiration.

"Now, listen here, Davian." She said pointing her finger at him, "If you have the guts to love then be bold to express it. If you keep being confused you’ll lose your chance and time. Do you understand?"

"Y-Yes." Davian stuttered and she nodded.

"Good, now get ready. We’re going to see our men." She announced.

"Eh?"

Back to present, Davian lay on Ocean’s bed feeling strange. He had been in this room multiple times but without having any other feelings in his mind. But presently, he couldn’t help but feel the essence of Ocean everywhere around him.

Davian suddenly sat up and shook his head. He couldn’t just stay here, he loved Reina. Ocean was an amazing person and it would easy to fall in love with him. Every girl in Oasis and even at the Ryujin mansion was head over heels for him, so, it wouldn’t be unnatural for Davian to suddenly feel a little swayed.

It would be unnatural if anyone wouldn’t fall in love with him if they had him treat him with how he normally treated the people around him with love, respect and care. And maybe even Davian had developed this soft side because Ocean had been treating him like that since childhood but then after the separation, Davian had been all but obsessed with both Ocean and Reina.

So, was he in love with Ocean since all the way back or had he started to develop these feelings just now?

Davian couldn’t help but lay back down again. He had thought he might get some answers from Ocean when he came but what he got was another weird rush of feelings and now he was gone for two days again.

How could he confirm about his feelings now?

Davian turned on his side pulling the thick sheets over himself as he inhaled the faint undertones of watery scent emanating from the sheets. It was Ocean’s scent. Normally, he wouldn’t apply any strong smelling scent but these faint undertones were what clung to his being and would also remain on anything that he touched.

Even though he was an assassin who never left any traces behind but, for some reason, Davian felt as if wherever Ocean went he left something of him behind. A sign to show the world that a Dragon had just walked from there.
