The Kitty Became a Cutie and Was Pampered in the 80s
Chapter 2078: The Zoo Is Open (Part 4)
Jiaojiao and Yu Rou got up, giving their seats to Duan Xi.
Ruan Lei silently touched his nose, and both he and Ruan Feng stood up.
"What do you mean?" Lu Zishu glared.
"I’ll play with you." Duan Xi.
"..." Lu Zishu. Can he say no to playing?
Of course not.
In the next twenty minutes, Jiaojiao and the others were eating boxed meals and watching Lu Zishu shell out money for Duan Xi. All his winnings went over to Duan Xi, and he had to pull more from his pocket. If he ran out, no problem, he could write an IOU.
Half an hour later, Jiaojiao held the eight hundred plus yuans won by Duan Xi and Lu Zishu’s IOU for five hundred, grinning from ear to ear. She split the winnings of eight hundred evenly with Yu Rou, stuffing the remainder to Qin Li.
To Jiaojiao, several dozen yuans were just a remainder, but to Qin Li, it was a fortune. He didn’t dare to accept, yet Jiaojiao forcefully shoved it into his pocket, reassuring him, "It’s okay, it’s winning money, accepting it brings good fortune."
"You’re just heartless!" Lu Zishu grumbled, swallowing down his boxed meal, watching Jiaojiao "dividing the spoils" right in front of him, tears flowing inwardly.
"Brother Zishu, that’s not fair, you said it yourself, at the card table, siblings don’t count, and if there’s not enough money, IOUs are fine," Jiaojiao chuckled, repeating his words verbatim.
"..." Lu Zishu.
He was quite upset, angrily consuming another boxed meal!
With so many people and such liveliness, time flew by fast. After two days and one night, the group finally arrived in Beidu.
Yu Rou had been out having fun for so long that her parents missed her dearly, so they came early to wait at the station, greeting the Ruan Family as well. Jiang Bai saw the group included Qin Qiong and was delighted, still beaming as he led Yu Rou away.
The adoption procedures for Qin Li had been completed long ago, but his name hadn’t been changed yet, requiring a personal trip to the relevant department. Considering Qin Li just arrived in Beidu and was only close to Jiaojiao, the couple wasn’t in a rush, allowing him to go home with the Ruan Family while they handled the paperwork.
The furthest Qin Li had been was the city, which is Yuansu.
This was his first time in Beidu, and he couldn’t quite take it all in.
Jiaojiao was enthusiastic in introducing him to everything along the way.
Though Qin Li didn’t say much, a clear spark lit up in his eyes, showing a longing and anticipation for the future, mixed with an inexplicable sadness.
In the past ten days with the Ruan Family, though he hadn’t quite blended in, just observing their interactions warmed his heart. He liked the atmosphere of the Ruan Family.
Yet, it was not the Ruan Family that adopted him, but the Qin Family.
He had spent much time with Shu Wen and Qin Qiong these days; both were considerate, though not particularly talkative. Still, he felt uneasy, worried that once at the Qin Family, others might not like him.
Jiaojiao was unaware of his internal struggles, doing her utmost to accompany him and help him acclimate here.
By the end of August, before school started, the animal park that Duan Xi opened for Jiaojiao officially opened.
Duan Xi’s animal park wasn’t the traditional enclosed type; it largely liberated the animals’ natural instincts. For instance, if the monkeys wished, they could roam freely around the entire park rather than being confined to one area.
