The Last Vampire God
Chapter 41: Voices
All I can see is white figures with their faces distorted so much that I can’t tell what they look like.
"Who are you?" I question while looking at all of them standing before me.
"The ones you kept hearing. We did everything that we needed to," He responds.
"What do you mean by that?" I ask with a bit of confusion.
"You made it to an artifact and the most important one at that. I’d say you don’t need guidance from us anymore," He answers calmly.
So the voices weren’t just because of some crazy trauma or me going crazy... How strange. I didn’t think I’d end up seeing actual people or whatever the hell they are.
They also talked about guidance and how I don’t need it anymore now. You’re telling me that everything I heard was "guidance"... Bullshit.
Some of those things were not guidance.
"I don’t understand any of this," I say with a bit of frustration in my voice.
"No need to be frustrated Dante. This is where you were meant to end up," The man replies.
I look at the other figures standing around me, each one has their face distorted. None of them want to reveal themselves to me which is why I don’t trust it.
"I shouldn’t be frustrated when I heard all of these damn voices and now you all hide your faces?!?! How the hell am I supposed to trust you," I say with a mix of frustration and anger.
"The distortion isn’t by choice. We have had this for a long time and it was never an option for us, so don’t blame us for this. You must push forward," He replies with a calm tone.
He is still keeping such a calm tone after every response I’ve had... I guess I’m good at that usually too. This is just not one of those times because I thought I was losing my damn mind.
Trusting voices in my head like a lunatic just to find out they aren’t just some random voices.
"Listen, the person you want is here. He will guide you before you return to the girls outside," Another person chimes in.
"What do you mean?" I question, a bit calmer than before.
"The vampire god you seek is here, that is exactly why you arrived within this space. He will give you the guidance you need before heading back to the girls," The person responds without hesitation.
"With that you must push forward. We’ll be watching but you will no longer hear our voices," The man says calmly.
I just give a simple nod before walking past them. I didn’t feel the need to wait around here anymore since I was told to move forward.
That’s exactly what I started doing, moving forward.
Walking through this dark scape I can’t seem to understand where it ends and wasn’t I by some sort of cliff before? I guess it doesn’t matter since I need to find this vampire god.
After some time it feels like I’ve been walking for hours with no sign of this vampire god. The landscape hasn’t changed, I haven’t seen any signs, and the silence has been killing me.
I’m starting to think I’ll never find this damn guy... No matter how much I walk it is empty here. Is he really here or did the voices just lie to me so that they could have peace.
Ughhh. At least I won’t have to deal with them anymore which is a huge relief since I felt like I was losing my mind. Hopefully I can find this guy soon.
I can imagine that the girls are quite worried about me.
[Outside of the Void].
The girls are all seen standing around as Dante lays on the ground unconscious. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
"Is he really okay?" Amelia asks with concern in her voice.
"It is part of the activation process I believe," Morrigan responds with a slight shrug.
"So you don’t really know if it is normal or not?" Lia questions.
The anger is starting to show a bit more amongst Amelia and Lia. Morrigan doesn’t seem to be concerned in the slightest about the condition of Dante.
"I’ve never seen anyone compatible before, mostly because they weren’t vampires. Dante has the best chance here," Morrigan responds while facing Lia.
Lia looks towards Amelia and then back to Morrigan.
"I’ll trust you for the time being because Dante is giving you the benefit of the doubt too," Lia says as she lets out a sigh.
It has only been about a half hour since Dante passed out on the ground in front of them. Nothing else has really happened outside of the void, mostly just occasionally chatter between them.
Lia and Amelia have both been on guard since they don’t know much about Morrigan.
"So you are an elf and she is a human princess,"Morrigan says while observing both of them.
"How do you know if I’m a princess or not?" Amelia asks with a surprised look on her face.
"Your current outfit speaks for you," Morrigan responds with a small laugh after.
"You don’t seem human so what are you?" Lia asks with a serious tone.
"A servant to the last vampire god and now I’ll be one to Dante," Morrigan answers with a smile on her face.
"That doesn’t explain what you are," Lia says while crossing her arms.
Everything disappears as Dante becomes the main focus again. [Back to Dante’s POV in the void.]
I think I can finally see something in the distance which is strange since it is incredibly dark here. But in the distance I can see a throne made from pure white light where a man appears to be sitting.
He is wearing black and red robes with hints of gold etched into it, crimson red eyes, long white hair with red towards the bottom, and he is wearing a few different rings on his fingers.
"About time you’ve made it," He says with a smirk on his face as he stares towards me.
