The Mad King's Heir
Chapter 119: Sleeping on someone’s lap
For the next couple of hours, Li Jun was in a daze. What the hell had he just witnessed? This was unlike Yu Wen. He would never drink something someone else had drunk. If anyone touched his things, it was an unforgivable crime, and he would hold a grudge for weeks.
Once, he had broken into Yu Wen’s room at the military academy. He was like little Goldilocks. He ate his snacks, snooped around, and slept in his bed just to get back at him. When Yu Wen caught him, he raised hell, justifiably so.
That same day, Yu Wen replaced everything in his room, yet here he was, drinking something he had put in his mouth. Li Jun could only come up with one conclusion. Yu Wen was possessed. His body had been taken by a soul from another world.
Yu Wen, on the other hand, knew that he had probably gone too far. His behavior just now was out of character, but after not kissing those lips for so long, he had been yearning for just a taste. It was worth the risk.
After hours of resisting the temptation of looking in Li Jun’s direction, he finally turned to glance at him. Li Jun was breathing softly, his head resting on the car window. In the uncomfortable silence, the man had fallen asleep at some point.
Thinking of what his mother taught him, he called out softly, "Zi Rui." He didn’t want to call him that. He wanted to call him by his real name, but he restrained himself. Carefully, he held him and pulled him closer without waking him.
Li Jun was not vigilant at all. He was sleeping deeply like he was at home. Yu Wen made him lean against him. Li Jun rested his head on his shoulder and slept comfortably. He even nuzzled against Yu Wen’s neck like a clingy cat, making Yu Wen’s heart itch.
Yu Wen grabbed a blanket and covered Li Jun with it. He draped his arm over Li Jun’s shoulder and looked at him, his gaze lingering on the man’s pink lips. He moved his hand and caressed Li Jun’s chin with his thumb.
He was tempted to kiss those lips. The urge was so strong that he caught himself raising Li Jun’s chin. In the end, he let him go and whispered, "Sleep comfortably. I will watch over you."
Who would have thought Li Jun would take those words to heart? An hour into his sleep, he suddenly shifted, startling Yu Wen, who was still working. He was reading through the intel he had received.
Li Jun raised his legs and placed them on the seat before laying his head on Yu Wen’s lap. Yu Wen froze. He didn’t even dare breathe loudly lest he wake him up. Li Jun did not like the way he was sleeping, so he shuffled again, and this time he slept with his face buried in Yu Wen’s crotch.
Li Jun’s cheek rested directly against the soft bulge of Yu Wen’s cock, and when he parted his lips, his warm breath seeped through the fabric, making Yu Wen’s breath hitch. Each breath Li Jun exhaled stimulated the sleeping dragon underneath the fabric, making it twitch and swell despite Yu Wen’s desperate attempts to calm down.
Unable to bear the provocation, Yu Wen bit his clenched fist, trying to repress the feeling, but his efforts were futile. He could only bear it. He was bound to have a sleepless night.
When Li Jun finally woke up, he found himself lying on the seat alone. The sun was up, and the car had stopped. He had a blanket covering him up. He rubbed his eyes, and with a sigh, he sat up.
When he got out of the car, Yan Jia was already waiting for him. After they pulled over for a break, she went to check on him, but Yu Wen stopped her, saying he was still sleeping. She was forced to wait for him to wake up.
Seeing him wide awake and unscathed, she heaved a sigh. He had no fresh hickeys, and he appeared to have slept well. Yan Jia heaved a sigh. At least that pervert knew to exercise restraint. That was what she was thinking before she realized she was wrong.
Yu Wen didn’t know his true identity, so of course he wouldn’t do anything to him. She sighed and said, "You can’t be so trusting like that. You slept like a fucking corpse in that pervert’s presence."
The so-called pervert suddenly called out, "Zi Rui." The two of them looked in his direction. Yu Wen gestured for him to come over. Li Jun looked at Yan Jia, and she sighed.
"Go... you need to wash up anyway," she said. They had parked at a deserted fuel station. They could freshen up and restock supplies. Li Jun smiled and said, "I will be right back." Li Jun strode over.
Yu Wen, seeing him walk towards him, took a breath. This man had tortured him all night, yet when he woke up, he was chatting to others. He knew he was being unreasonable, but after what he had endured, he felt it justified.
With a smirk, Li Jun said, "General, you look like you didn’t sleep at all."
"And whose fault is that?" Yu Wen mumbled under his breath while picking up the fresh set of disposable personal care items in a bag.
"What was that?" Li Jun asked, and Yu Wen replied,
"It’s nothing. Here, use these. The bathroom is free."
Li Jun scrutinized him before taking the things from his hand and walking towards the bathroom. As soon as the door closed, Yu Wen stood outside looking out for him. There were three showers in the bathroom, but he didn’t want others to use it while Li Jun was in there. Who would want their men to be seen by others?
Li Jun didn’t stay in there long. After about an hour, he came out, and Yu Wen was holding a fresh set of clothes Yan Jia had brought over. "You should change into this."
Li Jun changed his clothes and stepped out. Yu Wen suddenly took his old clothes and said, "I will take care of them." Li Jun watched as his clothes were packed into a bag and handed over to Alex.
If he only knew where Yu Wen had asked them to be placed, he might have requested his clothes back. Yu Wen said, "Let’s go have breakfast before heading out."
Li Jun couldn’t refuse a free meal. He sat down and ate noodles with Yu Wen. Halfway through the meal, he asked, "So what’s your plan to defeat Helion?"
Yu Wen wiped his mouth with a paper towel and said, "You want to get involved?"
Leaning back into his seat, Li Jun said, "Why do you think I am here? Just to save your ass? I am here to defend Aurelia."
"Then we have the same goal," replied Yu Wen, his gaze meeting his. "Let’s talk in the car." Li Jun nodded before he lowered his head and continued slurping on his noodles. Yu Wen just sat there watching him eat. He was proud of himself for picking something Li Jun liked.
Two hours later, they were back on the road. Li Jun, his gaze fixed on Yu Wen, asked, "Are we going to speak then?" Yu Wen didn’t think he would be this eager, but he didn’t mind including him in his plans. The two of them began to discuss the military plans, bouncing ideas off each other.
While the pair were coming up with strategies, Li Yu was executing her exit plan. After being locked inside this palace for days, she had finally had enough. She knew where Yu Wen was headed, so she plotted an escape plan. She was going to help him at the frontlines and hopefully get close to him enough to him to play the heroine saving the beauty.
On the other hand, Xiu Ying was sending troops to apprehend Yu Wen. One might wonder on what basis she was sending the troops to arrest him? She mentioned something about harboring a fugitive, but which fugitive? That part wasn’t specified. The commander didn’t ask. He just made his way to the frontlines to apprehend him.
Xiu Ying knew this was a risk, but it was a risk she was willing to take. Li Jun wasn’t dead, and he needed to be dealt with. She made sure to keep the secret. None of the generals or imperial court members would agree to the decision. They would have told her that this was biting off one’s arm while its swing a blade against their enemies.
Xiu Ying believed that if she managed to get rid of Li Jun, as the system said, they would win this war. The system would help her keep her power. If she only knew that her only child was heading there, she might have thought twice.

The pair didn’t know trouble was headed in their direction. While they were discussing military plans, the car suddenly veered sharply as though avoiding a collision. Li Jun couldn’t brace himself in time, thus he fell into Yu Wen’s arms.
