The Martial Doctor
Chapter 244 - 213: Chosen Saint Heir (Part 2)
"Why is the position of Saint Heir in the Moon Worship Sect not better than being a mere doctor now?" Yue Meier asked, puzzled.
"The position of Saint Heir is not under one’s own control. Neither you nor I want someone else deciding our lives. Do you think he would?" Si Miaoxue retorted.
Yue Meier fell silent.
"Yue Meier, if you want to stay, put away your little schemes. That’s my advice to you," Si Miaoxue said.
"You don’t mind me serving the young master alongside you?"
"To be his woman, you have to get past his senior sister, who is also Mrs. Lin from the Lin Family. You’ve got a long way to go," Si Miaoxue snorted.
"What about you? Have you gotten past her?"
"At least she calls me Miaoxue, and she’s let me through the gate of the house," Si Miaoxue said proudly.
"I’m different from you. I have the Yue backing me. I can’t act recklessly, and the young master is the destined Saint Heir, he should..."
"Don’t talk about should or shouldn’t. Everyone has the right to choose their own future. I don’t want to return to the Moon Worship Sect. As for you, whether you return or not, that’s your business," Si Miaoxue said.
"You’re not concerned about your master, Mr. Long?"
"Concerned, yes. But the two don’t conflict. Even if I return now, I might not have the ability to rescue her from the Moon Demon Prison. So, even if I want to save her, I need to make a long-term plan."
"As long as the young master returns, your master Long Po can naturally regain freedom."
"Do you think I can make him bow down and call an unknown person ’father’?" Si Miaoxue said. "Not only can he not say it, neither can I."
"So how do you plan to rescue her?"
"Use you as a swap. Aren’t you the ready-made hostage? Anyway, you want to return," Si Miaoxue said. "Exchanging you for my master’s freedom—isn’t that a great bargaining chip?"
"But aren’t I already on the same side as you?"
"Does your father know? Does that old guy know?" Si Miaoxue questioned. "If you cooperate with me, we can keep some ties for the future. I can turn a blind eye to the matters between you and him. But if you are determined to oppose me, then don’t blame me for being ungracious."
The greatest crisis was now over, because Yue Meier was unlikely to reveal Lin Miao’s secret of being a "fake Saint Heir."
Not only because she had given herself to him, but also because Lin Miao might be the true "destined Saint Heir." Revealing it would only dig her own grave.
"I can help you, but whether the Sect Leader will release Mr. Long, I cannot say."
"Alright, write a letter to your father, saying you found the Saint Heir but got kidnapped by me, and demand to exchange Long Po."
"If the sect knows the whereabouts of the Saint Heir, they definitely won’t let it go. Miaoxue, your plan might not work," Yue Meier said.
"Why wouldn’t it work if you secretly reported finding the Saint Heir?"
"In my report to the sect, I didn’t mention any information about the young master. Yue Wu found us because of the mark left by Thirteen, which I later told him about," Yue Meier said.
"Wouldn’t Yue Wu report this news?"
"He won’t. Once reported, the news of finding the young master would leak. Then more people would know, which doesn’t align with our Yue’s interests," Yue Meier explained.
"You really are scheming," Si Miaoxue mocked, "So what’s your solution?"
"Change the approach: hide Mr. Lin’s identity as the destined Saint Heir, and use you as leverage to get Long Po to assist me in entering Longchuan Canyon to find the Saint Heir. This might convince the Sect Leader to release people from the Moon Demon Prison."
Si Miaoxue paused for a moment.
"This is a good method, Miaoxue, my previous method was too direct, easy to arouse suspicion and alert the Moon Worship Sect. But Yue Meier’s method might actually put your Sect Leader at ease. Because Yue Wu has arrived, Yue Meier can control Miaoxue, going to Longchuan Canyon seems more authentic," Lin Miao, who had finished his cultivation, walked in from outside.
"Yue Wu knows the inside story. How do we convince him?"
"Simple, just take him down," Lin Miao smiled slightly. "Yue Meier, it’s your idea. Taking down Yue Wu shouldn’t be hard for you, right?"
Yue Meier’s face slightly changed. If she didn’t agree, then everything she said earlier would lack credibility.
"Fine, I can help you, but you must promise me not to cripple Yue Wu’s martial arts!" Yue Meier said.
"Okay, I have a way to use steel needles to lock his meridians, making him temporarily unable to utilize his inner qi. Once the task is done, I’ll help him recover," Lin Miao nodded.
"We’ve agreed to meet at Dingxiang Tower in the city early this morning," Yue Meier said.
"Then it’s settled."
"I can’t do it alone; I’ll need Miaoxue’s help."
"As long as you can make him swallow the Soft Fragrance Powder, it won’t be a problem. You and I can bring him back together."
"And Yue Shisan, he knows a lot. We can’t leave him out in the open; he must be controlled too."
"No need, I should be able to persuade him to cooperate with Mr. Lin," Yue Meier gazed at Lin Miao with affection. A destined Saint Heir is much better than the original one, and since even Si Miaoxue, who is enamored with him, couldn’t be wrong.
...
Regarding Yue Meier, Lin Miao decided not to tell Sun Youwei. The whole affair was too absurd, after all, both parties were willing.
If he hadn’t hesitated for that brief moment, none of this would have happened.
It seems he is an ordinary man in some respects, unable to resist temptation when faced with beauty.
Though Yue Meier gave herself to him, she did benefit, and she initiated it in the first place, so the responsibility should be fifty-fifty, reasonably.
...
"Yue Meier, the Heart Method cultivated by the women of the Yue Family aids their partners in cultivation. Did you use it when you were together just now?"
"The first time is the most effective. Of course, I used it on the young master..." Yue Meier’s cheeks flushed. After circulating her inner qi, a look of surprise appeared on her face.
"How is this possible? I clearly gave my Primordial Yin Qi to him, so why has my cultivation realm not decreased but increased?"
"He’s not an ordinary man. You’ll understand later on. Being with him not only brings joy but also enhances cultivation," Si Miaoxue chuckled softly.
"No wonder you were willing to betray the sect to be with him," Yue Meier took a deep breath. Such a treasure of a man—who wouldn’t want him?
"You’ve only understood a little of his worth. The longer you stay by his side, the less willing you’ll be to leave, just like me."
"Good sister, tell me more about him?"
"Don’t flirt with me, I’ve told you, but you won’t understand—even so, you’ll have to find out for yourself."
