Point-of-View: Aurora Pretorius

"Hah, take that! I win again, suck it, loser!" I grinned triumphantly with a pump of my fist.

"Aw, man, why can’t I ever defeat you?" Sighed Fenris in defeat, putting down his controller and slumping back in his seat.

"Guess I’m just better than you, might as well except it," I shrugged tauntingly, as I poked him playfully.

"Man, it goes without saying that I don’t stand a chance against you in a real fight, but this really stings," He complained saltily, turning his gaze away with a huff.

Quite a while has passed since the war against Hell, and it took some time for everyone to recover from that nightmare. Well, I say recover, but I bet a lot of people are still suffering from the scars and trauma inflicted on them during that battle, that’s not healed so easily.

Following the massive payout we received from Neo when he shut down Harmony, I moved to South Africa, where my dad was from. Fenris moved here too, after wearing me down and I agreed to go out on a date with him.

I’d intended it to just be a one time thing so that he’d finally shut up about asking me out, but admittedly, I had a really good time, and after a few more dates, we got together, and are now living together. Dot is here too, of course, though she sleeps most of the time now and isn’t as active as she used to be.

Things have been pretty peaceful, and as much as I hate to admit it...I kinda miss fighting. So every now and then, I convince Fenris to spar with me. It isn’t easy, since he never wins, but I manage to persuade him at least once a week, and of course, I kick his ass every time.

The rest of the time, I make do with violent video games, which I’ve kinda gotten addicted to now. Not to brag, but I’m really good at them, and except for a few times when I’d just started, he’s never defeated me in one of these games, not after I got the hang of them.

My eyes are sharper than his, so I’ve got better reaction time than he does, but it’s not like the game characters move faster because of that, so he can’t use that as an excuse. Plus, his eyes are still pretty damn sharp.

And besides, Inoka has beaten me a few times whenever I play against him online, and even with his ability to improve his senses using his Light Skill, his senses still aren’t as sharp as mine or Fenris’s.

"You really suck at these, don’t you?" I smirked teasingly, poking his cheek as he pouted.

I have to admit, he’s pretty cute when he’s like this. Though saying that out loud is way too embarrassing, so I keep it to myself whenever I think stuff like that.

"Yeah, well, single player open world games where I can play at my own pace and just explore is more my speed, I’m not good at games where everything is moving so fast," He grumbled as he averted his gaze.

"Ah, so games that require less skill, then. Come to think of it, you do seem to prefer going with side quests over the main story with games like that," I recalled wryly.

"No, I just try to level up as much as possible so that I can get through the main story easily," He explained defensively.

"But where’s the challenge in that? Is it really any fun that way?" I countered with a raised eyebrow.

"I’m more invested in the story than the challenge, so yes, to me it is more fun that way," He shrugged in response.

"That’s basically just watching a movie with extra steps," I pointed out.

"Yeah, and I prefer movies to games, so there you have it. Hmph, whatever, I doesn’t really matter."

Hm, maybe I teased him a bit too much, he’s in a bad mood now. He’s so temperamental sometimes...but changing his mood is also pretty easy. Well, it can be a bit annoying, but I definitely prefer it to how he used to act towards me, he was kind of a simo...I really don’t like that term, but it’s accurate here.

"Hey, come on, lighten up, Fen...I was just teasing, no need to take it so seriously," I nudged him with a wry smile.

"I don’t need to lighten up, no idea what you’re talking about...I’m not annoyed or anything, I’m perfectly calm and chill," He huffed in response.

Not a fan of doing this, but he really likes it, so here goes...

"Aw, I’m sorry...how can I make it up to you? I’ll. Do. Anything. And I do mean, absolutely anything...," I whispered into his ear before lightly blowing into it.

Yeah, acting like this is super embarrassing and kinda awkward, but I’m starting to get sort of used to it. And it’s kinda fun, especially seeing his reactions when I catch him off guard.

"...well, I guess I can think of a few things."

"Yeah, I’m sure you can," I smiled as I kissed his cheek, before adding, "Alright, then, go on ahead...make you request."

"For starters...could you say ’meow’ at the end of your sentences and also talk like how cat girls do in anime," He requested with a gleam in his eyes.

...he’s kinda pushing it with that. But fine, just this once...

"Alright, if that’s what you want...meow."
