The next day, Jin Buhuan summoned all of them again. Compared to the previous day, he looked more exhausted. When he faced them, the warmth he had once shown was gone.

“Father-in-law, is there something you want to discuss with us?” Sun Qingnian broke the silence first. He worried that Jin Buhuan would quarrel with Han Wu.

Jin Buhuan sighed. “I gave it some thought last night. I still think there’s a large gap between you and the other team leaders.”

The atmosphere tensed up at once.

Sun Qingnian was stuck between a rock and a hard place. He had to decide whether to remain in Everlight City or follow Han Wu. If he left, should he bring Jin Tuantuan with him?

Jin Buhuan paid no attention to his thoughts. “So, I am going to give you special training.” 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎

“Special training?” Sun Qingnian visibly relaxed. “That’s great! What does it involve?”

Jin Tuantuan sighed with relief too. She carefully approached him and held his arm. “Father, what is the special training about?”

Jin Buhuan calmed down a little when he heard her voice. “Our family once discovered a strange secret realm. After some exploration, we confirmed that it connects this place to an ancient battleground from another civilization.

“After years of neglect, it is filled with foreign life forms. Our family previously sent a secret group of elites to train, but most of them perished. Those that survived, however, grew substantially stronger.”

Sun Qingnian spoke up. “But what does that have to do with increasing Han Wu’s Divine Weapon grades?”

“Within that ancient battleground are many Divine Weapon shards. Even the weakest shard is a 1-Star God-grade Divine Weapon.”

“Really? I want to go too!” Sun Qingnian was excited. He wanted to grow stronger too.

Jin Buhuan shook his head. “No. We only have enough materials to open the secret realm once. Only one person may enter.”

Sun Qingnian hesitated, suspicion creeping in. “Father-in-law, are you sure this is a special training in a secret realm? Please swear that this isn’t an attempt to assassinate Han Wu.”

“Hmph! I do not employ such underhanded tricks.” Jin Buhuan bristled at the accusation, but Sun Qingnian still struggled to believe him.

He looked at Han Wu, silently urging him to refuse. After all, only the students who survived to the end of this event would have their results counted. Anyone eliminated midway would gain nothing.

Han Wu considered it briefly and asked, “Are there really many Divine Weapon shards inside?”

Jin Buhuan nodded. “There are. There are also a lot of rare materials and ores.”

“Then I accept.”

Sun Qingnian and Qin Shuang tried to persuade him not to be rash. They could still achieve good results by minimizing risk and surviving until the end.

Han Wu disagreed. “Since I want strength and power, I must see it to the end. If I don’t go through hell myself, how can I gain strength beyond measure?”

Sun Qingnian sighed and gave him a thumbs-up. “All right, you win. You are a warrior through and through, so go ahead! If anything happens to you, I will just forfeit this exam as my apology.”

Jin Tuantuan quickly let go of her father and ran to Sun Qingnian. “Husband, I don’t permit you to say that.”

Sun Qingnian smiled. He said nothing more and looked at Jin Buhuan seriously. If Jin Buhuan set a trap for Han Wu to perish inside, he would relinquish his results, repeat the year with him, and even cut ties with Jin Tuantuan, painful as it would be, as payback for the betrayal.

Jin Buhuan really wanted to slap him. Was he really someone that despicable in Sun Qingnian’s eyes?

With Jin Tuantuan standing beside Sun Qingnian, he suppressed the urge. “I will prepare the materials.”

He quickly gathered everything and forced open the gate to the secret realm. Only one person could pass through.

Han Wu stored a lot of food and some materials in his Dimension Bag. As he prepared to enter, Jin Buhuan gave him a jade pendant. “Wear this. We can communicate through it. I will inform you the moment the legendary Armament Spirit appears.”

“No problem.” Han Wu accepted the jade pendant, said his farewells, and stepped through the gate.

As soon as he entered, the materials sustaining the gate lost their energy and shattered.

Just as Jin Buhuan had said, only one person could enter. Now that Han Wu had entered, no one else could follow. Everyone was hoping that Han Wu would return with good results.

Han Wu found himself in a world of crimson. Everything shared the same dull red hue, whether it was the ground, the mountain, or even the plants. He worried that he would get some sort of eye impairment if he stayed there too long.

The moment he appeared, some of the organisms wandering nearby noticed him and attacked. One strange monster, with the lower body of a dog and the upper body of a minotaur, threw a spear at him.

Han Wu had cultivated the Freespirited Ape God, and while he only grasped a portion of it, he had grown quite nimble. He twisted aside, avoided the spear, and threw his Small Locust Blade. It split into twenty-one copies and stabbed the strange monster from all sides. It collapsed and died, and two shards emerged from its corpse.

Han Wu picked them up. They were Divine Weapon shards, both God-grade, rated 1-Star and 3-Star respectively. They were useful to him. The Small Locust Blade absorbed the 3-Star shard and advanced, moving one step closer to 3-Star God grade.

While he was checking the corpse, more monsters of various shapes and sizes noticed him and attacked.

Han Wu didn’t retreat. He attacked with his Small Locust Blade mercilessly. When he couldn’t kill those with higher defenses, he used the Explosive Locust Blade. When that failed, he summoned Locust-V and let those monsters experience the force of a headshot. The Locust Soul Orb also participated, summoning the three souls and turning into the tiger.

All four competed with Locust-V to see which could gather more shards. Amid that competition, Han Wu reaped the most benefits. Numerous shards piled up at his feet, and he used them to upgrade his Divine Weapons.

At this rate, he could upgrade them all to the God grade within three days. By then, his strength would reach an unimaginable height.
