The People's God: Sacrificing Trillions to Ascend
Chapter 738 - I Will Shoulder The Crime For Killing You!
“Oi, oi, oi, are you kidding? Are those all God-grade Divine Weapons?”
“Be more confident. They are indeed all God-grade Divine Weapons.”
“How does he have that many? Is he cheating?”
“Stay calm. We need to remain composed in the face of danger. He must have some sort of treasure that allows him to do so.”
Gan Xiangyu frowned when he looked up. There were too many blades. Gong Jun had failed to report this when he returned. He didn’t believe that Gong Jun would lie since there was no point. The only explanation was that Han Wu had powered up in that short period.
Gan Xiangyu was dejected. Everyone had created a clone with 10 Divine Essence, so how was Han Wu so special?
Numbers aren't everything. A Divine Weapon must have a limit to its growth. If it relies on numbers alone, it must have a glaring weakness. Maybe they are too weak to even pierce through my defenses?
That was his reasoning. He wore a 6-Star God-grade Silver Dragon Armor with incredible defenses. He believed that the Small Locust Blades couldn’t pierce it.
That belief held true for a single blade, but the situation was different when faced with millions. The advantage in numbers wasn’t a joke. Even a stone could be pierced through by water droplets, much less his armor.
Han Wu looked at him, “If you are so confident, why don’t we test it?”
He then sent 10,000 blades downward. They surged like locusts, rushing at Gan Xiangyu.
He activated his Silver Dragon Armor, and a barrier appeared. The blades deflected off its surface. Those from Warfare College at the rear chuckled.
“I thought they were powerful, but they’re just useless little blades that are louder than they look.”
Gan Xiangyu disagreed. He realized that the deflected blades could curve back and resume their assault. That meant they were not single-use Divine Weapons. Each strike, however, significantly reduced their durability.
After enduring thousands of attacks, Gan Xiangyu noticed that his Silver Dragon Armor’s durability was also declining.
As the attacks grew more frequent, its durability dropped further. Although many blades had already broken, the relentless barrage did not slow. At this rate, his armor would fail first.
He quickly waved his spear, the Coiling Dragon, to deflect them. As he waved it, dragon-shaped illusions soared outward to hit the blades. That way, he reduced the number that reached him.
“Is that how you intend to play?” Han Wu commanded even more Small Locust Blades to join the fray.
The others from Warfare College couldn’t let Gan Xiangyu fight alone and moved to assist.
“All of you, stand back! Don’t interfere!” Gan Xiangyu shouted, stopping them. “This is our battle. You lot don’t have the right to interfere!”
He knew how powerful Han Wu was. If he turned his attacks on the group, they would suffer heavy casualties. It was one thing for Han Wu to bear the blame afterward, but if they intervened, the Warfare College’s survival rate would drop rapidly. As a graduating student, Gan Xiangyu wanted to secure as much as possible for the college instead of sending his juniors to their deaths.
“I won’t attack them as long as they don’t interfere,” Han Wu said.
More Small Locust Blades poured into the battlefield. Gan Xiangyu wildly attacked with all of his Divine Weapons. Each attack damaged numerous blades.
Han Wu remained unconcerned. He had plenty to spare.
Gan Xiangyu’s Divine Weapons were slowly being damaged.
Three minutes later, his Silver Dragon Armor cracked. Five minutes later, his Coiling Dragon fractured. Seven minutes later, his Flying Dragon was destroyed.
As more of his Divine Weapons fell, he struggled even to escape from the blades, much less attack Han Wu.
Many of the Warfare students could no longer stand by.
“We are all from the same civilization, and you’ve gone too far! Everyone, attack. We need to protect Senior Xiangyu!” one of them shouted.
Gan Xiangyu was his idol, and he couldn’t stand to watch him die here.
The others roared in agreement and moved to fight, but Gan Xiangyu stopped them with a shout. “This is my personal battle. Do not interfere! This is an order!”
He was already covered in wounds, blood seeping through his clothes.
Han Wu frowned. “I am here for Hei Qi only. Why are you standing in my way? Hand him over, and I will leave.”
Gan Xiangyu smiled bitterly. “No can do. He’s my cousin, and you’ll have to walk over my dead body if you want to get him.”
Han Wu’s frown deepened. “What great cousins. For the sake of that bond, I will bear the crime of killing you here.”
He summoned all his Small Locust Blades and sent them raining down.
Gan Xiangyu had fought for so long, yet he had only destroyed 1 million Small Locust Blades. Nine million still filled the air. Their combined force was enough to kill everyone present. Gan Xiangyu was not powerful enough to resist. He had lost.
“Hei Qi, this is the last thing I could do for you. You must seize the legendary Armament Spirit for me,” he muttered, facing his end.
Just as the blades were about to pierce him, something unexpected occurred. A faint yet peculiar pressure surged outward from Wushuang City, deflecting all of Han Wu’s blades. The force also pushed Han Wu and his companions backward. Fortunately, the repelling force lacked strength and only sent them back about ten meters.
Sun Qingnian rolled across the ground and could not help but curse, “Who dares to ambush us? Can’t you fight fair?”
An androgynous voice rang out. “You bastard! How dare you come to my Wushuang City to cause trouble? Is this what Jin Buhuan taught you?”
Han Wu looked ahead and saw a masked figure approaching. The mask, woven of gold and silver, gleamed faintly. The newcomer wore elegant robes, carried two swords, and their movements were strange. With only a few steps, they crossed several hundred meters and arrived at Gan Xiangyu’s side.
Gan Xiangyu spoke weakly. “City Lord, I apologize for the humiliation.”
Han Wu now understood that the androgynous voice belonged to the city lord of Wushuang City!
