Chapter 374: The Wrath of Nevare

In front of them lay a small island with a diameter of about tens kilometers.

With their eyes and detection abilities, they could discern that there were approximately a thousand people on the island. As Robert reported, there were no mages detected on the island.

Most likely, they were drawn towards the frontlines or were somewhere else.

Based on Robert’s reconnaissance, the owner of this slave-trading base was the Wuhan Clan, so it was highly likely they would encounter traps or detection safeguards when approaching the island.

However, Nevare had prepared for this beforehand; she had designed a spell capable of penetrating human mages’ detection spells without being noticed.

However, to use this spell, they needed to prepare it in advance.

Unlike other mage spells that only required Mana to activate, this spell required other ingredients.

Nevare designed this spell after studying the mutated animal’s body structure and how their Mana Organs worked.

Of course, she had conducted tests previously; detection used by druids, hobgoblins, and mages were all successfully bypassed, but unfortunately, its effects were limited for asuras because their inner eye was more oriented towards detecting souls than Mana.

With a hand gesture signaling to move, Nevare and the others began to prepare to chant the penetrating spell.

Although they were still on the shore and the slave-trading base island was still several hundred meters ahead of them, that short distance could be traversed in a single leap.

Once the penetrating spell was crafted, Nevare gave the signal to get ready.

She began chanting the penetrating spell slowly, "Valkyrie Descent!"

Right after the penetrating spell was activated, all the Valkyries leaped, making the air beneath their feet feel as if it was being pressed down by a giant hand.

They arrived at the slave-trading base island and began infiltrating swiftly.

They needed to find where the female slaves were, assess the number of guards, and neutralize any impending threats during extraction. They had done this many times before, so they were well-trained.

After all the Valkyries arrived at the slave-trading base island, Nevare and Ira also leaped.

However, Ira wasn’t yet strong enough to cover hundreds of meters in a single leap, so Nevare had to assist her.

They arrived on the island and saw the other Valkyries already starting their attack.

Nevare immediately searched for the strongest enemies on the island, but it seemed like all the guards could be easily subdued by the other Valkyries.

Moreover, there were no mages guarding the island, so for the Valkyries, this assault felt like a walk in the park.

But before they could let their guard down, suddenly Nevare sensed a looming danger and a nauseating feeling that made her want to vomit.

"WATCH OUT!"

*BOOM!!

Suddenly, as if a giant had awakened from its grave beneath the earth, a chasm opened without warning.

Fortunately, the Valkyries’ reflexes were lightning-fast, allowing them to leap away before being buried under the collapsing soil. But the shock didn’t end there because what emerged from the gaping hole was what they could only describe as an abomination.

However, the most shocked among them all was Nevare. Her eyes widened in disbelief at what lay before her.

That day was still vivid in her mind, the day her destiny took a complete 180-degree turn, the day she ceased to be Anna, the day she lost friends, family, and her entire human life, the day Anna was destined to become Nevare.

The two perpetrators who caused it all were still vivid in Nevare’s memory, from their names to their mannerisms, movements, and physical forms.

They were Bon and Jon.

Although Nevare was no longer the helpless Anna who could only wield a sword. She could now obliterate thousands of her former self with a single spell.

As for Bon and Jon, Nevare could reduce them to dust in a matter of breaths.

Yet, the experience still haunted her.

Only by continuing to train and grow stronger could Nevare ensure that the nightmare would never happen again.

She would no longer be a powerless girl, a mere plaything and source of laughter for two discarded mages.

She would no longer feel fear!

She would no longer feel weak!

And now, one of those figures stood before her, numbering in the thousands.

The youngest of two brothers; Jon!

Unlike Bon, Jon had a large body with a distended stomach. His sturdy legs bore the weight of his frame as he walked.

Jon wore sleeveless leather armor, revealing various wounds on his arms, from whip lashes to sword gashes.

The condition of Jon’s pants was unclear; his right pant leg ended at the knee with a tear on the thigh, while the left pant leg reached his ankles but was in poor condition, resembling cloth wrapped around his legs.

Nevare could still recall that Jon’s appearance was truly inhuman.

He seemed like a creature straight out of hell, fresh from the realms of torment.

The most striking features of Jon were his massive body, his hunched stature, and his eyes, empty like those of the undead.

And now, there were over a thousand creatures bearing these traits.

While Nevare could see the difference, she could sense the resemblance of these thousand abominations to Jon.

They crawled out of the newly formed chasm, their tough skin unaffected by the sharp stones of the collapsing earth.

Nevare now understood where Bon and Jon came from and why they were so pitiful.

They weren’t born terrifying and miserable like that; they were made to be that way.

Nevare still remembered how Bon had wanted to sell her and her friends as slaves. And now, they were attacking the slave trader’s stronghold owned by the Wuhan Clan.

Nevare began to connect the dots.

"Nevare..." Vivi whispered, her face pale and her hands trembling.

Nevare saw the same expression on Claire’s face, who was standing in front.

They both understood what had happened to their tormentors.

Although they were truly happy as Valkyries, married to their husbands, and having children, the feelings of revenge and bitterness lingered.

Their lives had been forcibly changed, and they had been forced to endure suffering before finding the happiness they now enjoyed.

Gratitude and resentment mingled, making them feel oppressed.

Their human identities had long been discarded, but the memories remained.

They still had human families to consider.

This was why they felt somewhat reluctant to make humans the primary target for Wilwatikta’s destruction.

Their husbands also understood their turmoil and didn’t propose such an idea.

Unlike Nezena, who harbored deep hatred for all Mana Species and wanted them all eradicated to feed the asuras.

Initially, Nevare, Vivi, Lina, and Claire thought what had happened to them was just a series of unfortunate events.

Bon and Jon were merely two unfortunate individuals who had come to help them choose a different path for their lives. But they never knew that none of it would have happened if the Wuhan Clan hadn’t created abominations like Jon.

Nevare gritted her teeth so hard, her fingers bled from being clenched tightly.

After being captured by Bon and Jon, Nevare understood that humans weren’t as good as she had thought. But she still held hope for the species because of her family.

Despite saving thousands of slaves, hearing their tragic stories, witnessing their suffering firsthand, and realizing how cruel humans could be to each other, she still held onto that hope—that humans could become better.

But the reality was that the world didn’t really need humans.

They were a disgusting cancer that should have been eradicated long ago.

They were the true monsters, and the asuras were the angels sent to destroy them.

Nevare immediately connected her consciousness to Pandava.

As one of the four main queens, Moku had granted her the power to control Pandava.

However, Nevare had only used it to contact Moku or other human Valkyries so far.

She didn’t want to tap into the Mind Realm power, despite Moku’s assurances.

Nevare saw the Mind Realm as something beyond logic, and she didn’t want to be influenced by its power.

Unlike Moku, who could control his desires well, Nevare feared that using the Mind Realm power would lead her to develop a God-complex, akin to the Mana Gods of the past.

As before, Nevare used Pandava to connect with her husband’s consciousness. In an instant, Nevare could sense Moku, and vice versa.

"Hello, Honey, what’s up? This really isn’t the right time to call me. I’m having fun with new friend, you know?" Moku’s voice echoed.

Nevare knew her husband too well to be fooled.

She knew that by "friend," he meant a powerful enemy he was about to eliminate before consuming their body respectfully. But Nevare paid no heed to Moku’s protest; it was a wife’s right to disturb her husband when he was having fun.

Without beating around the bush, Nevare said, "Cancel the plan to exterminate the elven species! I want Wilwatikta to focus all its power on eradicating humans from the face of the earth!!!"
